In general everything was great. The problem I have with Ryobi is trying to find model and serail numbers. NOt sure why they can't do like most companies call the numbers what they are.

I bought my lawn mower 40 V 20 in in…

I bought my lawn mower 40 V 20 in in 2021 and now it is not running (not the battery) so I am trying to find someone to repair and of course noone is working on this brand, even on Ryobi tools website says you need to call the service centers mentioned to make sure they are working on this brand.. what a chaos .. so establish a brand in the USA and no service centers are available?? This is not a $10 box tool that I can replace, this is ridiculous with all means . I will make sure that I post this review where ever I can so people won't be scammed like me by buying this piece of crab.

RYOBI is the WORST company!

RYOBI company is the worst customer service and product provider I have experienced. If there is an option to rate the company with "no stars" so that the review can be posted, I would. I received a RYOBI power tool as a gift. Now, the battery does not work (it does not charge) and I am unable to use the associated item of the lawn trimmer due to no RYOBI battery. When I called RYOBI, I spoke to various representatives who continuously repeated their scripted lines (because each person sounded robotically the same) about their policy being as follows: when the product is outside "their" manufactured warranty of three years then a customer needs a receipt to receive a replacement. This is strategically fraudulent and manipulative from RYOBI.
1) The product I have is a gifted item; since, it is not common practice to give a person a "receipt" when it is a gift, I do not have a receipt of purchase. The item was given to me.
2) Why would the only resolution by such a big company require a receipt after the many years?
For example, common practice of many corporations requires that a receipt be available the first 14-90 days of a purchase from the store it was bought meanwhile, the company warranty is extended anywhere from 1 year to lifetime. Meanwhile, RYOBI does not do this. At three years from the manufacturing date, a customer will be left with no resolution. For all I know, the item I have was sitting on the store shelf for who knows how long, until it was finally purchased by the person who gave it to me. Therefore, the company's "manufacturing three-year warranty" was already depreciating in its "guaranteed warranty time." Therefore, this policy leaves clients at a disadvantage. Additionally, this leaves customers having no other alternative than to buy RYOBI products again if the individual does not have the receipt; in this case, I cannot use my lawn trimmer without having to buy another battery from this company. This is atrocious! It was a gift. I have no way of having the receipt. Although this was a gifted item, I (my friends, family, and people we know) will ensure NOT to buy any RYOBI products myself, if this is how they navigate with their "policies" and customer support. There is no email address to file a grievance, the representatives on the phone are very stale to the script, and there is no supervisor or corporate ambassador to actually speak with for a resolution. This company needs to reevaluate its policies so that it can provide satisfactory support to its clients and provide quality products. From the way that the scripted warranty is described, it does not surprise me that perhaps the products are intentionally crafted to fail from the third year of its manufacturing date where clients would be unable to provide receipts, especially when it is a gift. I have the product and its serial number, but it is worth nothing without a receipt (which I do not have because the product was gifted to me). The fact that there is no other customer friendly support or alternative help for both a positive experience and satisfactory resolve is absurd. Buyer beware of RYOBI! And, anyone receiving a gifted item of RYOBI products, make sure to ask your gift giver for the receipt when you come across a manufacturing problem because it certainly leaves the impression by this company that the product is set up to fail this way at the consumers expense.

Ryobi products - not recommended!

I bought 3 years ago a small Ryobi mower with batteries and chargers, just to find out quickly, that is was too small of a mqchine. My yard is about 4000+ sqft and it was not able to handle the job without rechargung twice. So, soon thereafter, I bought a bigger one,
40V HP BRUSHLESS 21" SELF-PROPELLED MULTI-BLADE MOWER KIT with 40V 6AH LITHIUM STARTER KIT OP4060506 for over $500,

including all, just to find out, that after 6 months, the rear wheels stopped working (they are supposed to be powered). I still have it and it starts acting up real bad.

I have also a trimmer from Ryobi (thought to be loyal to a brand I thought was worth it - I was wrong!), which started acting up as well after 2 years. So, it cannot be that I bought all "Monday or Friday production units", can it? Ergo: it must be the brand.

I thought I give "gteen" a shot, but boy, I was wrong. Going back to good old gasol8ne mowers and tools - stronger and much more rel8able than this.

Please think twice before buying a Ryobi product.

Cheets.

Ryobi Customer Service was TERRIBLE…

I have a half dozen Ryobi 18V power tools that I absolutely love so when I saw a Ryobi bench-top drill press on sale at the store I was thrilled. I bought it in June 2024 but didn't take it out to assemble until July. When I put it together one of the EXACTLINE lasers was not operating. I called Ryobi Customer support to see about getting it fixed or replaced. The customer support lady clearly had better things to do than assist customers. I don't know what I interrupted her from doing but she clearly wasn't interested in my problem. The gist of the frustrating conversation was like this: 1) I could call an authorized service center in my town to see if they worked on drill presses. 2) If not I could try the next closest about 90 miles away or, 3) I could shipped at my own expense to a service center to be determined by Ryobi. 4) I could buy the OE part on Amazon, have it delivered in 2 days and replace it myself in 1-2 hours but that would void my warranty. I took it to my local shop which was dank, dark, dilapidated and smelled of cat urine. The owner said it would take 2-3 weeks. I called him back at 2 weeks and he said he's waiting for the part (obviously didn't use Amazon 2-day delivery). I called home back at 3 weeks +4 days and he said it would be another 4 days. I stopped in after 4 days and he said it needed paperwork done and wouldn't be ready until the next day that he would call me and not to bother him again. Two days later I picked it up and took it home. It looked like the base was standing in dirt, the brand new table was pitted and corroded as were parts of the column and head assembly, but the laser did work. If it wasn't my worst customer service experience it was certainly near the bottom. OE and Amazon is looking pretty good in the future (maybe that is their goal).

Terrible customer service

Ryobi Customer service. I bought a Ryobi 40 volt 21 inch self propelled mower two months ago. The mower works fine and cuts good. the fuse-key that lets you witch batteries broke. the metal fuse part pulled threw the plastic handle. I called customer service 1 800 number. I was told that they had no fuse keys in stock. that I could buy one from a third party. so in essence there is no warrantee, the nearest service center is 70 miles away. I am currently on the phone with customer service right now and after 1 hour and ten minutes I am still waiting to talk to the first service agent's supervisor. The part lists for $3.78. but they cannot send me one and told me I had to go to the service center with the tool. so, like I said, right now it seems like there really is no warrantee.

My first Ryobi self propelled lawn…

My first Ryobi self propelled lawn mower still works after 4 years, except for the power assist, which makes it unusable for me, an 80 yo female. When I bought the mower at Home Depot they praised the service they provided at HD, but when I took the mower for repair after 4 years, was informed they no longer did Ryobi repairs and instead gave me a list of repair places, all of which were 60 plus miles away. Since I am not a highway driver, I was unable to get it repaired so I bought another mower with 5 yr warranty. After 7 months of use, the battery would not charge, so I took it back to Home Depot to get another. After all, I had a 5 year warranty, right? No, because I had not purchased the "extended warranty" I had to go directly to Ryobi. They gave me a telephone number and so I called the same day during business hours they provided, but the message I got was "call back during business hours". I called again the next day, pressed the right number and was told to hold, which I did for a very long time and finally I was disconnected. this is so frustrating and I will never buy another Ryobi anything because of very poor or absent customer service. I had to buy another battery to the tune of $180. Will still try to get refunded but I am not holding my breath.

Ryobi...........wOw

I bought a new Ryobi 4wd mower with mulching blades. after one use a piece of plastic shattered on the mulching plug. I wrote a review but never contacted Ryobi and was set on just discharging rather than mulching. Somehow Ryobi read my review and is sending me a completely new mower. I never asked for a replacement, they are just that good. And I thought Lexus service was the best but Lexus has been bested by Ryobi

I purchased a battery powered lawn with a useless warranty…

I wish I can give a big fat 0. I purchased a battery powered lawn mower 3 years ago from Home Depot. On 5/14/24, it no longer moved forward by itself. I then brought to it to their only service repair place in the Wilkes-Barre, Pa. That repair place said in writing that they won't be able to look at it for 3 more weeks. I had no choice but to leave it. Now it's 8/07/24, 10 weeks later, and still no mower. I been hiring a person to mow my grass for $50 every week. Plus the service repair place said Ryobi mailed them the wrong part and they're waiting for the correct part. Also Ryobi said they NOW have different repair places to take it. If I only knew at that time that there was ONLY one place to bring it to get it fixed with a minimum of 3 weeks to wait I would have never purchased it. Never again because of their service repair places. I finally got thru to Ryobi yesterday, 8/6/24. they finally told me that they OKed for a new mower to be sent to VAC-WAY with-in 10 to 14 days. THIS is TOTALLY unacceptable and unbelievable. Now because I threaten to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, they suddenly started to fix my problem.

Home depot's fault?

I ordered a Ryobi weed eater from Home Depot online. What I received was a box that had obviously I'm opened before and retaped shut. I was willing to give it a go and not make a big stink, but there's no owners manual inside.

Contacting customer service

I called the customer service for information about a bad 40V battery that was under warranty. The first time I called I was waiting about 10 minutes then decided to give my phone number so I could get a call back. No one called me back that day. The next day I waited for about 35 minutes on the phone for a customer service representative. Sh told me to go on the website if for a replacement. It sounded like she was reading off a script. I went to the website and for a replacement I had to call customer service. I called again and waited for about 30 minutes. This time she gave an email that I needed to use for the battery replacement. I sent the information to the email and I received a response with "Your email has been received and we are working hard to get it updated for you." 8 days later and still no response about my battery replacement. Ryobi customer service operations is the worst I've experienced from any company. I really do like Ryobi products but the hassle and wait time to get in contact with a customer service representative and to receive an email back for my status is absolutely ridiculous. Guess I need to start buying other products. Thanks for nothing Ryobi.

Two years ago I purchased a new Ryobi…

Two years ago I purchased a new Ryobi 21 inch 40v lawn mower. Several weeks ago it stopped working. I called Ryobi and was instructed to take it to the local authorized repair depot. A few weeks ago I called and was told the part was on back order and that the repair person has 90 days to repair before replacement is considered. Ridiculous- this is summer. Meanwhile I have to pay someone to mow the lawn. Thanks Ryobi for the great service.

7-8 years ago I was installing…

7-8 years ago I was installing replacement windows for a living and was having a hard time driving 4"wood screws into old, hard wood. A friend loaned me his Dewault impact driver for a day and I was amazed. No more stripped Phillip's head screws and having to cut them out with a reciprocating saw. Screws went into even the hardest wood with ease!
I went to buy my own impact driver and found Ryobi's 1/4" impact for half of what Dewault wanted. 7 or 8 years later and I'm still using my Ryobi impact driver daily. I later looked for replacement batteries for the 18v tools and found 2 batteries for $99. Dewault asked $99 for 1 replacement!
I've never had a problem with my Ryobi tools (never bought replacement batteries either) and just purchased 40v attachment capable weed eater. It's fairly heavy but that is because its shaft is real steel unlike cheap copies and the battery is 40v! I can weed eat my property 10 times before I'll ever need to recharge.
I highly recommend Ryobi tools for anyone... even daily contract workers. Save yourself some money and get Dewault quality for half the price.

I needed a portable fan

I needed a portable fan; have always had excellent experiences with Ryobi products, so tried their rechargeable mini-fan. OUTSTANDING!!!! POWERFUL!!! I use it at bowling lanes where it is typically HOT. This little fan, even on the low setting, really moves the air. On HIGH it's just like having a 10" fan blowing in your face. Compact, STRONG CLIP, fast recharge, small profile, EXCELLENT battery life. Well worth the very reasonable price.
