We use several Ryobi 40V tools in our home, including the electric lawn mower, leaf blower, and weed trimmer. The blower and trimmer have been great — they’re easy to use, have plenty of power for... See more

Ryobi Chorded 1/4 sheet palm sander EXPLODED!
This sander is about 10 years old but rarely used. I would say I’ve used it maybe 5 times. I was sanding some casing for paint prep. on our newly installed windows when the Ryobi palm sander literally exploded! Metal and plastic parts flew everywhere including into my new window breaking the glass. I’m sure glad I had no flesh in the way or that could have been a real bad day. I contacted corporate about this and as usual... crickets.
The canister on a cordless vacuum…
The canister on a cordless vacuum cleaner broke. I’ve attempted to contact RYOBI and they do not pick up the phone and I am unable to navigate their ambiguous website. If this is reflected of their corporate policy, I think I’ll be replacing the many ryobi products I own.
3100 psi gas powered pressure washer
I purchased a 3100 psi gas powered pressure washer and it is leaking oil very bad. I have talked to 3 different persons in Ryobi customer service and the solutions are: dropping the machine at a service center which is located about 80 miles from me or calling Honda (the engine is Honda) to find out if they can provide a better service or solution. Based on this, I'm pretty sure I won't buy any other Ryobi product. I understand that something can get wrong, parts, assembly, etc, but I don't understand that they can't offer a good solution for customers in regard to equipment that they sell. I did not buy it to Honda. By the way, I have selected before 1 star because otherwise I can't go further with the review, but it should be 0 star.

I wrote a review of the wheels falling off my Ryobi VacAttack. Since then I have drilled a hole through thewheel mounting base and installed a metal axle replacing the cheap plastic wheel mounts.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, warranty is useless as they don't stand behind it. Had to drive 3+ hours to bring a recip saw in for repair. Now 6 months later the repair center is saying that they're waiting on Ryobi to decide if they are going to replace it. Will not buy another Ryobi product again. Reflects extremely bad on Home Depot and I will be decreasing the amount of products I buy from them as well.

Customer service for warranty work does not exist in Canada
Ryobi 21" 40v Lawnmower.....Customer service for warranty work is non-existent for anyone in Canada, as far as I can tell. We cannot get past the phone messages asking for a 5 digit zip code. We have 6 digit Postal Codes here. And Home Depot was no help as we have to deal with Ryobi. Home Depot did not help us find a service centre either. Now we bought this because my husband had a heart attack and we needed a light machine for him to use as our other was a pull start. We were over the moon finding this lightweight mower but we have had the same issue that has plagued a number of customers. Mower will not turn the motor blades. The lights come on, and the self propel does work. Just no cutting the grass. From a lot of YouTube videos, we see that this is a common problem and you would think they would issue a recall if this happens so much, never mind not standing by their product. I guess we will have to ask our nephew for our old lawn mower back even though it is about 15-20 years old, and it is still running. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, RYOBI!
We’ve had a Ryobi one+ 18v brushless…
We’ve had a Ryobi one+ 18v brushless vacuum cleaner for about 1 1/2 years. We use it in our 2nd home about 2x a year. We get about 5 minutes out of one of the batteries and maybe 15 minutes on the other one. For $400 it’s so NOT WORTH IT.
Ryobi Tools Commits Fraud
I own about 7 Ryobi lawn tools. I took my mower to a repair shop (recommended by Ryobi) and it came back missing a tiny part--a small gray plastic piece that fits into the mower handle. I asked the shop if they found it and they said no. They also said they could not order it for me. I contacted Ryobi, they sent me a booklet and made me find and tell them the part #. I was promised 3 months ago that it was being sent and asked to rate the service. I gave them 5 stars. Well, turns out they lied and the part was never going to be sent. They told me today that they don't have that part and to go to the repair shop...folks we have too many negligent companies like this who commit fraud. I say enough is enough and I am never purchasing another Ryobi tool again nor am I ever shopping at Home Depot again. These are con artists--not legitimate businesses. The part probably costs 2 cents and they lost my business over that. They don't care--nobody cares about anything anymore and it's only going to get worse.
I regret purchasing a Ryobi lawn mower
I regret purchasing a Ryobi lawn mower. It is just over a year old. We have a small yard and purchased this mower to replace our gas powered mower. I like the size and that it is easy to manoeuvre around the yard. That’s it! The battery cover broke and the guard has ripped. The mower gets bogged down easily and was continually stopping. The first battery barely lasted a year, Ryobi mailed a replacement. Then it stoped working all together. I dropped it off at the service depot in June where it is waiting for parts that are on back order. I have been without a mower for most of the summer! The customer service is terrible, they told me to borrow a mower. I was told it will be 6-8 more weeks. Yikes!
Great sander!
I bought a ryobi 1/4 sheet sander for a dresser I was refinishing. It worked amazing and was perfect in my hand. It has an easy on/off switch and the sandpaper is easy to change from one grit to another. You get quite a bit of time from one battery, I used a 2 amp and I was very satisfied with the result and work experience with it! I highly recommend this sander to new users and old alike.

Sadly after 15 years and a massive collection of various tools that's what their customer services now represents 'tools'. Good luck trying to do any further business readers, spoke to x 3 persons each jobs worth attitude 'I'll have to transfer you' then finally customers services (minx, who sounded like she just got out of bed) just cut call with no help. Luckily I guess you can get thier products from reputable outlets like amazon. Ryobi clean up your act and stop pretending somome in Asia - Africa or where ever calls get trasfered to gives a damb about UK customer services.
Disgustingly horrible company

I have a 40v lawn mower that was serviced for a bad mother board in June 2023 (just 1 year old). It is now acting up again and needs the mother board replaced again. This time the wait will be at least 12 weeks. Their customer service is terrible and the equipment service is even worse. HELP!
15" electric trimmer
First time user of the battery/electric 15" trimmer. Good price. Had a lot more power than I expected. Been using Ryobi products for many years. Never really have had any problems w/ the brand. Although the trimmer is new, I expect the same Ryobi performance!
Bad customer Service
This review is about customer service for Ryobi customer service basically it sucks. I bought a 40 V mower two years old now and it takes six charges on my two batteries in order to cut my postage stamp yard. I called customer service. The lady said that I’d have to call a service center. I said I went online. It’s not a serviceable item she checked on something came back Said, I’ll mail you boxes so you can mail them back to us and then after we receive them we will send you two new batteries, that never happened. Call back again talk to a different lady She said we don’t do that. She asked me questions about the batteries got the serial numbers And said I will send out two new batteries well haven’t seen that either. It got to the point on the 40 V mower that I could not start off with self-propelled. If it had two lights on the battery I would have to start pushing and then pull on the self-propelled to make it work or it would go dead . I honestly love Ryobi. My shop is full of Ryobi tools, saws drills, routers weedeaters you name it it’s full of it, but the customer service is really lacking something. I just want my batteries so I can mow my yard and also I took out a two year extended warranty with Home Depot, so I’ll see how that goes after a few more years, come on Ryobi step it up.
