We had a side window in our truck broken by a rock while traveling to a horse show. The good thing was that there was a Safelite dealer near by and we could get an appointment in just a couple of days... See more

Barbara(front desk) and Jesse(tech) at the Sequim, Washington location were absolutely phenomenal, professional and kind and did an awesome install and I cannot thank them enough.
I will use them for all of my auto glass needs in the future, sincerely, Christopher

I ordered a windshield for my 1968 Chevelle after being assured by the company that they could both source the glass and perform the installation at my home. I even followed up with a phone call to confirm, and the agent assured me they could handle everything. I provided several Chevrolet suppliers who currently have the windshield in stock in case they needed help sourcing it.
I received a call two before the appointment stating that I needed to bring the car to their Safelite Murfreesboro facility for the installation. I was fine with that. This conversation took place on a Wednesday, and we scheduled the installation for Friday.
On Friday morning I called them to confirm the appointment since I was told someone would call me to confirm. It was on this call that the agent stated they could not do the work. The representative told me she was only informed that they “could not perform the work,” with no further explanation.
To make matters worse, their website allows customers to order windshields for classic car vehicles.
You can decide for yourself if this is the type of company you want to deal with.

Stay away. Signed up days in advance for morning drop off at Safelites North Academy Blvd store. We dropped our 2020 Acura MDX off at 9:15 am. It is now after 5 and it is still not complete. I called the local shop. to check on the status around 4pm and after being curled through the AI , I was transferred to a call center in TX. After a long hold was transferred to the local shop. Who did not care that 2 hours of work had taken all day. Instead reminded me that I had to pick it up by 5pm, as they close at 5. Obviously concerned with us holding up his evening. Very poor attitude, lacking any sense of customer service. It is now 5:33pm they are finally getting our car. Don't fall for the drop off. A walk-in off the street get better treatment. Wish they had zero stars.

Total difficult making an appointment. Then they no call, no showed.
I went to Safelite to replace my windshield on Saturday, May 30.
When I arrived, they entered the wrong insurance information and told me that I would need to reschedule the appointment. However, I later found out that the incorrect information was actually their mistake. The employee I spoke with was also very unhelpful and rude.
Since it was Saturday, I picked up my repaired car around 5:00 PM. After I got home, I noticed that the driver's side sun visor had fallen off after the repair.
I immediately called customer service, but they told me I would have to come back on Monday because the shop was closed for the weekend.
On Monday, I called Safelite again, and they told me they would take care of the detached sun visor. However, when I went to the shop, they rescheduled me again for Wednesday. They said that when I return, they will inspect the sun visor and determine what needs to be done.
I have already wasted my time twice because of mistakes that were not my fault, and I am very frustrated with the way this situation has been handled.
I'm really disappointed.

5/8/26 drivers side window hit by rock from string trimmer. Called Safelite the next day and scheduled a repair, Safelite/Grange $100 deduct'
5/16/26 scheduled repair date
A courteous but obviously untrained technician broke my regulator while attempting to replace the glass and then left. Safelite refunded my deductible but that's where they left it.
I called everyday for a week with not one reply. I eventually got tired of waiting and ordered the parts myself. After watching several videos on youtube I installed the new regulator without issue 5/31/26
I am deeply unsatisfied with Safelite and will never use them again!
I had a scheduled appointment at my home with Safelite to have my windshield replaced. They canceled at the time of appointment with a text saying that the windshield did not arrive. my appointment was rescheduled for one week later with a time window between 12:00 -5:00: nobody has shown up or called me yet and is now 6:15 PM. when I call the number it recognizes my number and an automated prompt lets me know of my appointment window. the branch is closed and I can't speak to an actual person. I lost 2 days of my vacation time for this and still no windshield replacement . Horrible This is the New Bedford MA branch

I've never had a windshield replaced in the all years I have driven until a week ago. I was apprehensive to begin with, but insurance made the process simple. One week to the day of replacement, windshield is broken and spreading daily. I have made a new claim for second replacement and will NOT be recommending or referring anyone to Safelite.

As you can see from many of the online reviews about Safelite in Freehold. Their incompetence is only outshone by their lack of communication. Just opt for a new windshield, since that is exactly where "service" from their technicians will leave you. STAY AWAY!!!
They turned a small windshield chip into a full blown windshield crack

NEVER use this company. Terrible work, completely unaccountable customer service, zero follow through. They are perpetrators of fraud: they purposefully break windshields while “attempting repairs” so they can then upsell you into an over market price windshield after you just paid for an over market price chip repair. And when you identify the fraud, they ghost you.

Had a windshield replaced in 2025. a few weeks ago the rearview mirror fell off when adjusting it, taking a piece of the windshield with it. I took the vehicle to Safelite in Charleston, WV for warranty service. Shortly after arriving the manager came to me and said they couldn't provide warranty service because a piece of the windshield came off. When I told him what happened he rudely responded "that didn't happen." Cheaply made windshields, cheap service. Never again!

When my windshield was installed the technician didn't cover my dash. My radio got a few drops of adhesive on the screen. A guy came out to try and remove it, but was unable to clean it. I have called Safelight 4 times since and have been told that an email was sent to the Lakeland office manager and supervisor about my issue. STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CALL AND ADDRESS MY RADIO SCREEN!!!!

The only reason it’s one star is because you can’t choose zero. They advertise they come to you but yet they couldn’t so I waited a week was very clear about what was damaged and they ordered the wrong parts. Had to drive an hour and a half to get to the location because this was the soonest I could get in anywhere. The only other one close to me was even another week or two out. Sad part is their attitude. Didn’t give a damn about their mistakes or making it right. Orlando location on Curtis. I think they have the attitude that they are the only game in town. I’ll work my tail off to find anyone else that can do the job instead of rewarding, terrible service and even worse customer service.

Horrible! I had an appt scheduled last week to come to my office to repair windshield, they called at 8am and cancelled because rain was forecast that night at 8pm! They rescheduled for today, then called to cancel again due to rain. Both times the technician calling told me he couldn't schedule another appt. After going through customer service I did reschedule but each time it was another week away. No urgency or interest in fixing an issue for their poor customer service! Go elsewhere. I used them once last year for a tiny chip and the technician actually broke my entire windshield , requiring me to go into the shop for a replacement! They are super unprofessional and we are just numbers to them

I had a scheduled appointment on Saturday May 8, 2026 between 1-6. No one called to cancel or reschedule! When I call based off my phone number it tells me my appointment was rescheduled. My time is valuable! Very inconvenient and unprofessional. Shame on USAA for using this unprofessional company. I do not recommend safelite

Have to give 1 star. They do not allow zero stars. We have had 3 different appointments to replace a windshield. The first time the rep shows up and tells us he was here to repair, even thought we scheduled to replace. The second appointment they cancelled stating they order the wrong windshield. And this last one they just didn't even show up, it is 1 hour past the time range they gave there is no way to get a hold of anyone. What a joke. Find another company to replace your windshield as this company is a complete joke.

I had an appointment scheduled between 1 and 6. Received two emails confirming appointment
Nobody showed up. No calls. No texts.
Wasted 5 hours waiting for safelite.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Safelite has been extremely frustrating from start to finish.
On May 4th, Safelite replaced my windshield. After the installation, my driver’s side windshield wiper arm was broken. A few days later, I also noticed an issue with the rearview mirror base. I contacted Safelite, and they scheduled someone to come back out to address the problems.
During the second visit, I was informed the wiper arm would need to be replaced and that they would contact me when the part came in. The same technician who originally replaced my windshield was sent back out to fix the rearview mirror base. I work from home, so after he finished, I simply met him at the door to get my keys and went back to work.
Later that day, I got into my car and found a water bottle left in my passenger seat with the lid not screwed on completely, causing water to spill into my seat. Even worse, I looked up and saw my rearview mirror literally falling from the windshield.
At that point, I contacted the warranty department because the entire situation had become unacceptable. Although it was a major inconvenience, I agreed to bring my vehicle into the shop after customer service insisted. I also specifically requested that the technician who originally serviced my vehicle not be sent back out to my home again.
When I arrived at the shop, the employees themselves said they could not believe an appointment had been scheduled for this issue. They then informed me the part had actually been broken by the technician during the original windshield replacement and that they would now need to order another part.
This experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and incredibly inconvenient. Mistakes can happen, but professionalism, accountability, quality workmanship, and proper follow-through matter. Unfortunately, my experience with Safelite did not reflect any of those things.

The technician was nice enough. He repaired what was a dime-sized, spiderweb-shaped crack (caused by a rock off the freeway) in about 20 minutes. It was still entirely visible -- which was something that didn't happen with a competitor on another car -- but at least it wasn't going to spread. Right? That's what the tech promises me once the job is done.
Fast-forward two days later, and part of the crack has spread another inch-plus down my windshield. Apparently, they can't do anything other than recommend a quote to replace the entire thing (by them, of course). So I go from $150 to about $700 (due to all of the electronics fused into the windshield these days). Their answer is to run the replacement through my insurance. My insurance won't take it because I already had someone try to repair it before they saw it. If I replace the windshield on my own, I get back the money spent for the original crack repair. The rest is out of pocket. And my rates go up.
So no -- not recommended, simply based on their handling of errors on their part. A half star, if it were possible.
[Update as of 5/22: The crack has now expanded to 30 inches across my windshield. I have no choice but to have the window replaced. Safelight will deduct the cost of my earlier repair attempt from the price of a new windshield (which is actually closer to $1,800 than the $700 quoted earlier ), if they are the ones who replace it. Otherwise, I'm out of luck. I'm seeing if I can work something out with my insurance company, and get a service recommendation from it.]
[Additional update as of 6/7: My insurance did cover it; I paid a $50 deductible. I used the company's recommended repair company (no problems there). I still won't get any money back from Safelight, but oh well -- lesson learned.]
After all this, I have a few words of advice for anyone looking for a windshield repair:
1. Try running the repair request through your auto insurance company first.
2. Ask for a repair recommendation from your insurance company. Although you can pick one yourself and the insurer may still cover it, there may be additional paperwork, such as a required visual inspection, before the insurer will agree to do so.
3. Obviously, read reviews on work by various repair companies. Skip the ones on their own websites. Pay attention to their responses (if there are any); many simply paste in a generic quote and leave it at that.
4. If you opt for an onsite/at home auto glass repair, take before and after shots of the damaged glass, and the repaired product. Put a ruler or tape measure next to it if possible. Take a follow-up pic a couple days later in the same way, to see if the damage has spread; maybe do it one more time a week later.
5. Make sure that the repair tech READS you the terms of the contract you're signing. Don't let him just hand you a tablet after he says something like, "This just says you realize that we warranty all of our work, and if you have any problems, contact us."
