Great product. Service and install not so much. Installer punched hole in wall and refuses to fix. Called both company and installer no return calls.
Safe step replied to review and asked me to call Custer care team. Turns out it was the same people I was contacting before. Was sent to phone mail and told they would call back. No call back. No way to even talk to person. The worst customer service I have ever had.

Please see above. I look forward to your installing another crack- less tub. Please advise of date.06082023
4 days later - Safe Step has responded quickly and graciously to my concerns. The tub was, in fact, not actually cracked. Rather, a gap had developed between the tub and a front panel. A re-application of silicone has resolved the situation. Thanks to all who worked to make that happen!

A little problem. For one, project was done, great job to that point. The operation was ready for the plumbing & electrical review. The plumber showed up on May 12th at just after 8:00 AM (I was told to expect the electrician on May12th by 4:14 PM-- 24 hours after completion). I hadn't finished my breakfast. Actually a good start, only one person to go. My next contact was some paperwork from the city of Lakeland, FL Building Inspection Division -- Contractor was 200 miles away. Not being familiar with this permit, I checked the paperwork over, found what I thought might be number to call. It wasn't but on 5/26 I got a call from a woman who left a message and I returned the call. We connected, we set up a date 5/30/23 (the day after Memorial Day Update: the electrician came in, did his review and is done. Super experience.
The installation crew was very professional, and very knowledgeable. Now for another little problem. I don't think this is yours although it might have happened to someone else. The day of the installation 5/11/23). Initially your crew told me that they wanted a check for $18,324.00. So I made up a check for $18.324.00 so it would be ready when it was needed. Near the end of the installation, there were a couple of parts that were apparently along for the ride. We had a discussion pro & con for installation, etc. In the end, the parts were set up for installment on the tub which turned out to be a little too large for installation and would have required cutting into the tub. That piece -- a kind of shield -- plastic, resin infused, glass whatever was removed and the installation supervisor authorized a $750.00 credit towards the final cost. I then recut my check (#4582) for $17,574.00. The installers used their tablet to copy my check and gave me a payment receipt. Confirmation Number INXP2VSS8K, Payment Type: One Time. I printed the payment information. As soon as the installers left I tried out the tub. I should have taken out notes on the demonstration. Either that or went over to YouTube to see the their demonstration, however, sometimes the language is confusing (non-English speakers.)
The next morning, I wanted to have something to tell the first reviewer. The plumber caught me before I finished my breakfast. Afterwards, I checked my online Wells Fargo printout and saw the entry [05/12/23]safesteptubsllc AGNT PYMNT Ray A Waldren $17,574.00. A couple of days later when I was able to drill into the dated entry all I saw was Details: Home Improvements.
Over the new several days, there were no changes. However, about 3 or 4 days later a new entry appeared on my online printout finally residing at 05/18/23 Safe Step $17,574.00. Until I could drill into the new entry (it takes a couple of days for details to show anything. When I go to the dated entry I get the following: check number; 4582, date posted: 05/18/23, check amount; $17,574.00, category: checks written. When I drill into icon that gives me access (usually) to the front & back of my check. I get a couple of boxes -- One says: This image cannot be displayed. The other box says -- We are unable to process this request. Please try again later or call
for assistance.
All in all this does not appear to be a safe step problem, although others might have run across it. I have contacted my bank for their help, your payment handling was done in half the time my bank fouled it and wrongly.

They did everything they promised, quick, clean, eficient respectfull of property and pets.
The tub itself is beautiful and well appointed
2023:
They are the most expensive walk in tubs, and showers in the industry. The walk in tub cost on average is $25,000++.It can be more,if you want a door, instead of a shower rod etc..The glass door for the tub is outrageously expensive at over $5k.And it's a 3/4 length. It doesn't enclose the entire space.
The ave.walk in shower is $13,000++.They can go over $20k+.The door, seat and walls are a upgrade. The seat is $2,500-3500+.The doors average $3,000-3,500++.The other upgrade is the walls. They come with smooth white or almond acrylic. If you want a pattern it's $3-5k++.If you get a walk in shower, with a seat, glass door and upgraded walls, you're in the $20k range here.
The Manager Stephanie,is extremely rude and unprofessional, after the sale. You better hope, you dont have a problem. With them,or their 100% SUB CONTRACTOR INSTALLERS.They do not have installers as employees.100% of every install is from a sub contractor. If the sales person says otherwise, they are lying.
I looked through 5+ pages of 1 star reviews, and the prices stated have gone up by over 50%+ on most of the reviews.1 person said it was too much at $14k and change. That was a long time ago!
Its now about $20k for the cheapest, smallest "Soaker" walk in tub, with no jets or options.Just a tub to soak in.
It's about a 3 hour sales pitch to get the best price. They have several price drops. You'll need to be in a dog fight to get the best price. And then it's still the most expensive on the market.
They say on the phone it's affordable.Even though they lie, just to get the salesman in the door. They could quote you over the phone too. They will finance you for 15 years or 180 months.$2,000 down $300+ a mo.for a Soaker tub.It can go way up,if you want jets..$2,000 down $180+ a mo.for a walk in shower.15 years of payments,if you can't pay cash.
And you need a 75 gallon water heater if you get their walk in tub too. The tubs hold about 60 gallion. They don't install water heaters.Thats $1,500+ range.
$26,500 with a new water heater is a ballpark quote.
All of their plumbers are 100% subcontractors in each state. They lie and say they have plumbers that work for them.NO THEY DO NOT!

This is my 2nd tub, so being a repeat customer, we had high expectations for dealing with Safe Step again. they not only met but exceeded our expectations. Great company to work with.
All representatives were highly professional and courteous, however, pricing can be prohibitive for many. My 82-year-old mom, though, appreciated having this experience in her own home, so the family made it work. Mom is so happy with this tub; it was worth it to see her smile.
An eye to detail was plainly visible...
Thanks
How in the world does someone get off the Safe Step mailing list? My mother died a year ago. I have spent MONTHS emailing, writing letters, "chatting" (with "a Live Person" no less, lol) asking Safe Step to remove my late mother's name and address from their marketing database and mailing list. NOTHING.
A Yelp reviewer complained of the same issue and was told that "an outside company" does their marketing and it is impossible for Safe Step to remove a dead person from their database. Ridiculous! How can I trust them to install a $20,000 tub if they can't even keep their mailing list updated?
Show some respect, Safe Step, and remove the deceased from your records when asked. Or at least be honest on your website and give people a link to have their mailing address removed. So frustrating! And such a waste of time and money.

they made the sale to me with the 3 day right to cancel, the price was way high even after all the alleged discounts, the salesman was mostly clueless about installation, but pretended like he had some clues, but he was so silly!@ he called someone to get a better idea of how it goes, because I questioned him hard. He said we needed to make the door way wider! well for the 40,000 they quoted, I could have nearly built a new house, the sale presentation was loaded with illegal statements, and seemed to make many unverifiable claims. After I saw all the 1 star reviews here and read many of them, and saw all the terrible reviews on their BBB page, I sent in my cancellation within 3 days, registered mail return receipt, whoever received the mail, didnt even have the where with all to sign or spell their name in an intelligible way. I was feeling like I may need to sue them, I need to check if they returned my $1000 that I gave them for the down payment.
Sadly they have WAY WAY WAY too many super poor reviews for me. SO I felt safest cancelling.
I also noticed that safe step really works their reviews here hard, which is a bad sign. And it great that Trust pilot works with scum like this and helps them improve their super poor reputation, So I saved all my paperwork and contract so I can upload it if need be for proof of sale/contract.

I bought safe step walk in tub for 22,000 in may I have had nothing but problems they came out 6 to 7 times to fix it I think I wasted my money they tried to said it was my fault I bought a walk in shower from bath fitter I have it for 7 years with no trouble they think giving me 250 dollars was enough

This is my first review of my safe-step walk in tub. I have given it plenty of time to get used to and I can honestly say, I HATE It!! Worst investment I ever made. I had a shower with a built in seat removed because it was getting difficult for me to get up from the seat. I am having considerably more difficulty getting in and out of this one! So much for “Safe-step”! Door opens in leaving very little room for ingress and egress. Takes a good 15 min. to fill leaving me cold and uncomfortable. The drain is situated so when I step in or out I have to step on it putting it in the closed position. The water valve has no direct on or off between shower and direct flow so it’s by guess and hope for the best. Got out one day, leaving the door open (as suggested) only to hear a ‘dripping’ sound later on that day. Tracked it to the tub. The drain, being stepped on, left the drip to almost overflowing! Had I not been home that day I would have had a flood on my hands. Poor design! I have nothing good to say about this tub! Wish I had my old shower back. All in all, it was much “safer”!

First off, the installers had to come back after being here all day cuz it would not drain. I had told the saleslady and the installer's son when they first got there but I guess no one listens to me. I have never been so disappointed with something in my whole life. $21K for what; nothing but heartache. There are too many buttons to push and not all things work well. The hand-held shower does not have a strong enough water flow. The door is barely wide enough for me; I feel this unit is designed for tall, slender folks. The seat is too far from the front controls. The doorlatch doesn't stay affixed so I ended up with water all over the floor. It never did fill up completely before I was done shampooing and bathing. I feel it must use too much water. The shower curtain kept clinging to my shoulder. One of the smaller side panels keeps popping out? I'm just so disappointed that I probably won't be using it very much so the only benefit is the selling price of the house itself will be higher for my inheritors.

Expert install, took about 3 hours. Everything was cleaned up good, they showed us how to run everything and very polite. They should all get a good raise. We’re happy with the whole team from salesman to completion.
The order was screed up and it took 3 months for Walk-in Tub to straighten it out

Reply from Safe Step Walk-In Tubs & Showers
Installer had good work ethic, but lacked finesse; seemed to be more intent on completing the job quickly than well done. Sales rep was very adept at sales work, but understated the level of difficulty of installation and residual after affects.
