Payment issue

I never received my incentive for time spent providing my feedback. I redeemed the payment for VIRTUAL gift cards, thinking those would process quicker; however, weeks late, and I still have not received them.

Watch out for Sago working through other research companies.

I recently completed a survey for a different research company called Zeldis Research. The entire process went quite well until it came time for the incentive payment. I reached out to the researcher who had set up the study and imagine my surprise when I see someone at Sago cc'd on the email. Having had one miserable experience with Sago in the past where they didn't respond to any communications about payment and didn't pay for months past the original expected payment date, I would have never willingly worked with them again. Now I'm back in the same situation where I haven't been paid and no one is responding to me. Keep an eye on those email addresses and pay better attention than I did. Looks like Sago has started working through other research companies on the sly.

HORRIBLE!

HORRIBLE!! I see I’m not alone on not getting paid!!! This has to stop! I haven’t been paid for 2 months, $200 outstanding in Visa physical cards. Other taste test places pay you right away with a check, I asked, why don’t they do this? we show up for these tests and then they don’t pay us. It’s so unethical.!!

Where’s My Money?

I participated in a group and then requested an incentive WEEKS ago - have yet to be paid. Now I’m wondering if it will ever happen and what next steps I need to take. Small claims? Labor department? I will never make the mistake of taking a few hours off my job and working with them again. It’s not worth it.

Archaic Payment Process

It's 2024 and SAGO still refuses to pay folks on time for things completed weeks ago, sometimes over a month ago It’s been like this since I started work with you all. You can’t force people to meet deadlines/times for studies and not expect to have the same expectancy or level of turnaround for payment.

Sago needs to update whatever system they are using so that payments can be made automatically once the study is completed and all requirements are satisfied. Other research companies have an automated system that pay days, sometimes same day as the study was done.

Unfortunately, I am not giving y’all another chance to delay with my money again this year. I will be reporting this issue to the authorities.

I did a couple of studies as a research…

I did a couple of studies as a research Participant. All seemed ok other than waiting forever to get paid.

But today I had a horrible experience. I got a confirmation email and a confirmation phone call. My email was from Rebecca Hanner. It had confirmation for the study and everything with all the info..I rearranged my whole day drove to the study which was far away only to be told I wasn't on the list.. when I contacted sago. They said oh we emailed you again after your confirmation email saying you got wait listed..this email went to my spam and nobody contacted me saying I was wait listed. I only was called to confirm the study and emailed to confirm the participation info.

I worked for Schlesinger for decades…

I worked for Schlesinger for decades and they were the best people! Mrs. Schlesinger is turning in her grave! I have never been so insulted in my life since Sago bought them. It is insulting, because it takes forever, usually 6 to 8 weeks to get paid! It's terrible and should be illegal. I think they put the screws to us workers who try hard to make a buck and work the system, making it seem as if we aren't working, but simply partaking in a focus group, like in an experiment, so it's not really work. If it were technically work, then these guys would be in trouble with the labor board. Sago, you suck and I have no respect for you any more. Making people wait so long is unforgivable.

Don't waste your time

I spent 8 weeks on a laundry detergent survey and completed 3 lengthy surveys. There was an error on the final survey that prevented me from completing it. There was no response from the help email, so the deadline passed and I won't receive reimbursement for my time. SAGO said they can't do anything because the survey is managed by the sponsor. I'm not going to waste any more time with this company.

Wish I could rate them -1/2 a star! I finished a survey at least 2 months ago, it took them another month to send me incentive information. I finally got cashed out to receive a “virtual” card, that was last month and I’m still waiting for a “virtual” card! I will never do another survey with this company!

Complete Scam that will not pay you

This website and company are a complete scam. I participated in a study group and was never paid, despite them saying the gift card was sent. I've called and emailed them and nothing. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

Stsrted a 2 part dish study on May 7th…

Stsrted a 2 part dish study on May 7th through May 21. Study saying they would pay $50,00 . When I completed the study when they sent the last link they mentioned I would receive a link to my wallet to redeem my points. So $50.00 as reward of finishing the survey went to my going on line and it will not let me log in to redeem my points because it can't verify my email address. Since they started using SAGO/HUT nothing but trouble.👎

Please do NOT do any studies for them . They bamboozled us yesterday . They use to give a preloaded Bank of America card after the completion of the study . Do you know they never told us we would have to wait 3-4 weeks for the payment to process . This company is a joke and I will NEVER do a study for them ever again if I did your study that day then I should
Of got paid that day . I just wanted to warn people and let them know do not do any studies with this company you will have a massive amount of issues with payments if they decide to pay you which they DONT . They still have not reached out to me about my payment processing this company is a total

Really irritated

Normally after completion of a focus group you would be compensated immediately whether it was in person or through you online account with points. I provided my time, experiennces and opinions to only not be compensated for them. After requesting a digital Visa card it showed processing but that never happened. A quick notice pops up and disappears that states processing may take 30 days or more. This needs to be made known to people so they can make the appropriate decision of participating or not as I feel as if I moved my schedule around for nothing

STAY AWAY

This is the ONLY market research company that I have asked to remove me from their database so I am not even tempted to filling out their surveys to see if I qualify for a group. It's such a shame because Schlesinger was great and SAGO bought out a few other previously good companies. I have no doubt that they will crash and burn because they are AWFUL now. I had to fight for payment for several different studies and it took MONTHS. I, like others here, contacted the BBB and my next step was going to be to contact the D.A if I didn't get paid.

Sounding the alarm/Sago responds with "Despite our best efforts, there is a possibility that we may not be able to meet our standard commitment of processing your redeemed points"

Signed up for a 9-day qualboard survey, which was fairly intensive, requiring a lot of written answers, even asking for us to come up with a script/story board at the end that might suggest PR angles.

Before I took the assignment, I clearly asked the recruiters about the payment schedule, since the assignment started on April 30 and continued until May 9.

I told them I was in a difficult caretaking situation, and that while this job offered me desired flexibilty in reverse commuting, if it wasn't a sure bet for somewhat timely payment, I couldn't take it, would have to go for option B.

I got the incentive points (which would be equaling 200.00 in a reward) but in terms of them processing the reward, well, "in processing" is where it's been now for weeks: I asked them, and started pushing for them to honor the payment (a virtual visa) and then I start seeing may be 20 days to process due to high volume if it's virtual.

In response to my 5th email, I get this from Sago: "Sago is currently facing significant delays in the incentive processing workflow and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time.
.....Despite our best efforts, there is a possibility that we may not be able to meet our standard commitment of processing your redeemed points. ....ago will keep you updated...." So what's going down? What difficult times? Hire more people if the volume is so high. I too have done some SAGO panels and up to a few years back, was paid in a timely manner. This was a survey I put time and big effort in, and I am now sounding an alarm, esp. reading so many other complaints here, on the BBB site, and on Reddit.

UK experience

I noticed that all reviews for Sago are in the US so I thought I would give a perspective from the UK. I was invited to participate in a user research interview with a large tech company in their London office. At first, I was skeptical due to these reviews but the process was smooth. The only negative was that they contacted me close to the interview dates and some of the emails felt unprofessional with grammar mistakes, however I went ahead.

As agreed, they paid the incentive through Paypal within 10 business days after I completed the interview.

BEWARE of SAGO

BEWARE

RED Flag- Notice that the vast majority of the reviews on Sago are negative.

I did a focus group in Mar 2024 with SAGO. I was told that the incentive would be processed within 10 days. They lied, I did not receive the incentive in 10 days. I received the incentive 72 days after I participated in the the group. I sent email after email requesting the incentive. Each time would respond with a generic email stating " We are experiencing higher than normal volumes". This company is deceptive and dealing with them is very frustrating. I will never get involved with them again, it's too much of a hassle.
