This seller has to be closed down

This seller has to be closed down, i have been promissed my order from January 2023 for 6 months now with every excuss under the sun. I have now asked for a refund and have been waiting for 6 weeks. Please avoid at all costs....I'm £130 down. Time to go to trading standards and small claims court.

What a complete nightmare of an…

What a complete nightmare of an experience. This so-called shop is a complete farce & the owner is little more than a common thief & certainly a liar. Even the 1 star feels wrong it's so bad.
I placed an order in January 2023 then added more items to that order. After 4 months! Yes 4 months I was emailed informing me that it was proving difficult to get one of the items, at that point I was given an option to change for a different item, cancel or wait, although warned it could be a long time. I opted for change the item. In addition, I was offered a ‘good will’ gesture of an amount to spend. I utilised the voucher and again added to my order (in May 23).
During this time, I have been bombarded with email after email (literally 100s) showing the new deals & sales to be had at Salty Revolution, ironically some even showing the items I was waiting for. Within these emails were rants from James Goodchild about how his days are wasted replying to emails from customers with questions such as ‘Where’s my order?’ so I somewhat patiently was giving him the benefit of the doubt thinking he would come through. Until I finally asked him what was happening and could he give me an update. He replied & told me that things were coming in later in the month and he would spit my order if needed just so I could get my items, he also explained as I’d not been hassling him how he would make my order a priority as I’d been waiting so long. A month passed and nothing! It was pretty clear it was simply a belly tickling email. So, I mailed again this time asking if there was anything on my order he wasn’t getting and what he did have in that I could maybe swap as by now it was causing hassle not only with my partner but the order of fish that I wanted to put in my tank. This was met with a ‘I’m cancelling & refunding your order’ email back.
Needless to say, it was cancelled but have I got my money? Obviously not! I’ve tried to contact the excuse of a man; however, the number is now cut off. As it went on so long the bank/Barclay Card cannot honour covering the transaction, so I’m well and truly out of pocket. I have also been in touch with Citizens Advice who in turn have involved Trading Standards, sent a templated legal recorded letter and as of yet complete silence. During all this time that has passed I’ve looked at reviews it’s transpired that this is usual behaviour for him, he treats his customers with a certain distain when they rightfully ask for information. By his own admission it seems he was beaten up pretty recently (wonder why!?) by a couple of individuals, and that in turn was used as an excuse as to why orders could not be fore filled, ask around the Reefing Community it seems he’s got a very poor reputation.
So, if you are one of the wronged customers/victims of him I’d urge you to contact Citizens Advice who in turn contact Trading Standard who are building a case and all info will help. If you are just reading this as a potential customer as the deals just look so amazing then don’t, they are simply just items he hasn’t even got, plus the odds are you’ll be robbed and writing one of these in many months!

i wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt after my refunds through pay pal were being processed, then to top it all off they were cancelled and here i am again fighting for refunds because i never received my orders. dont be fooled by the offers, its a con... i got a partial order but most of it was not what i ordered and then the next two orders totaling over £600 never came. youll get hostile emails/messages from leaving a review and/or sob stories how he has been beaten up, car set on fire etc. support your local shops and see what your buying as this is just one headache for you and the livestock to avoid!

Absolute garbage

Absolute garbage. I ordered 2 high end chalice corals, what they sent me was half dead junk with exposed skeleton (no attempt to protect them in transit, just loose in poly bags). Got rude reply from my complaint, in which they admitted that the frags had been cut a few days before sending out. Avoid at all costs, there’s far better sellers out there.

DO NOT USE SALTY REVOLUTIONS

Do not use this company. Absolute liars and thieves. My husband spent £166 on fish from this company which he never received, this was back in December 2022. My husband contacted the Company and spoke to the owner, who promised that he would refund the money, which supprisingly didnt materialize. After several conversations this Company said that the refund had been lost in transit.... more lies. My husband made contact again this week, now the phone number does not accept incoming calls... yet another surprise
Please save yourself the upset and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...

Sham company - Salty Revolution September 2023 Update

I tend to give suppliers the benefit of the doubt and recognise that sometimes issues arise that result in undeserved bad reviews.
However, my experience makes me realise that the many bad reviews for Salty Revolution are fully justified. It's not just that orders are delayed or that Salty Revolution refuse to acknowledge any responsibility or accept even a modicum of blame, it is worse by far! This guy claims to be overwhelmed by orders BUT continues to advertise for more and more orders; he even advertises livestock that I am waiting to receive but never receive!
He writes long and "meaningful" emails bewailing his poor health and pleading for customers to "just wait until July" when he promises all outstanding orders will be finalised - all just nonsense and part of his plan to defraud people of their money.
Salty Revolution is a sham company designed with the clear intention of fraudulently taking money for orders that will not be delivered.
The prices are low to attract buyers to pay in advance for goods that Salty Revolution has no interest in delivering - maybe the odd person will receive a part order (luck rather than good intent) but wave goodbye to the rest of your hard earned cash! And when you complain, the order is cancelled and you join the looong line of disgruntled ex-customers waiting for their money to turn up (or not).
So, take notice of the bad reviews - these are not isolated cases of bad customers but clear evidence of a systematic way of defrauding gullible customers.
UPDATE Guess what? A day after my review appeared, I received a couple of emails from James calling me a c*** a guess because of the contents of the review. Interestingly, he made no attempt to deny what I say but said he was cancelling my refund and will keep the money I have paid without receiving the livestock!
I contacted the local Trading Standards and told them my experience - unsurprisingly, they know all about Salty Revolution and their activities and are likely to take action soon.
Again my advice, don't deal with them and for those who have been defrauded, contact Trading Standards and give them your story.

By far the worst online company I have ever dealt with, I really don’t understand how they can stay in business, if you have the temerity to ask for a progress report after 2 months , you are told not to email them. After 5 months I was given the option of a refund, which I accepted, I have not received it ! He states it was issued in April , and blamed my bank ! He has closed the order, I am being advised by citizens advice and trading standards, also I have sent 3 letters recorded delivery, with no response, next step is small claims court. A very unpleasant experience, please do not use this company.

AVOID!

He emailed saying that he would be unable to fulfil my my order several months after I had ordered and offered a full refund or to trade in for different stock. I requested the refund, but as experienced by many others, no refund was actually ever sent. Tried to tell me that he had sent it but it was being held by my bank due to a processing delay caused bank holidays, despite my bank telling me this is was simply not true and that any pending refund would be deposited into my account immediately (to which he tried to tell me that MY BANK were the ones lying to me), not to mention the fact I had received other refunds from different companies within this time that were issued AFTER he had supposedly sent the refund. As with many others here, I was forced to claim back through my bank to get my money.

Frankly this place is run by an absolutely vile human being, and little more than a con man. If you are lucky enough to get your order at all, you will almost invariably get it weeks or even months late. My brother waited almost an entire year to receive his order, and even then it wasn't the fish he ordered. Rude and abusive to customers, publicly mocks his (rightfully) dissatisfied customers on public emails and social media. Complete lack of professionalism. Complains about customers asking valid and completely understandable questions about delivery updates despite the fact that orders are literally months late and threatens to put anyone who asks for order updates to the back of the waiting list for "wasting his time", as if it's not completely reasonable to want updates on a heavily delayed order which is completely his own fault and responsibilty, by taking on more orders than he is actually able to fulfil and general incompetence, but he never takes any responsibility for his actions, it's always somehow everyone else's fault. Incredibly scummy practice.

And on top of this, despite already being unable to fulfil current orders anywhere near close to on time, he continues to post constant offers encouraging more sales, many of which seem too good to be true, and of course there is good reason for that.

Literally the single worst experience I've ever had with any retailer, and looking at other reviews this year. It's shocking that he is still in business. AVOID!!!

Salty Revolution Avoid!

Like many others, I placed an order, order was not forthcoming, contacted SR several times, eventually promised a refund, this never materialised, I contacted Suffolk Trading Standards who have informed me that West Suffolk Council are prosecuting him. West Suffolk Council have also informed me he had no licence to trade fish. Suffolk Trading Standards have asked for consumers who have experienced issues with their orders to contact them 0808 223 1133 to make a formal complaint.

SALTY REVOLUTION SCAM

I’m in the same position as everyone else that’s left a negative review about this SCAMMER….All the reviews left are spot on about this company called SALTY REVOLUTION….I placed two orders in January 2023…only to be told that the corals and fish aren’t in stock…it’s now the 20 July 2023 and still no REFUND…I will be contacting my bank to see if I can get my money back….SALTY REVOLUTION shouldn’t be allowed to trade at ALL….it’s shocking that this man is allowed to do this and seems to get away with it….PLEASE people AVOID this SCAMMER AND LIAR!!!!!!!!!!

THIEF AND SCAMMER

Getting refunds is where the fun starts - ranting, unprofessional replies, and then blocked. Im still waiting on orders since 2022 and no refunds either.
AVOID AVOID AVOID at all costs. His details are being passed to my friends at Sussex Police! This business needs closing down. The number of negative reviews speak for themselves!

Ordered items, NEVER received

I Placed my order order in December 2022. Multiple delivery delays. Never received fish I special ordered…
Contacted owner ’James’ for a refund which i’ve not received!!!
I am now taking them to small claims court… To be honest I don’t about the money, I just don’t want it in his bank account !!!
Not happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't bother

Don't bother, asked to cancel after waiting longer than expected, advised that it would be fine but can take upto a month to refund, waited over a month and not heard anything back, bank has now been contacted, waiting for over £200 back, don't waste your time.

By far the worse customer service available

I wanted to order from these guys for a long time. I regret ever bothering.

I was told between 14-30 days. Waited 67 days and STILL no delivery. So I instructed my bank I hadnt received goods I paid for and got it refunded. I had emailed a few times to chase up my order and when I finally got a response from James I just got "okay we'll cancel your order" from an email which basically said "hey, been waiting over the time you allocated me, any news." The whole experience was infuriating because you wait weeks and weeks for a reply from this company/James but you will receive 2/3 emails a day going on about some deal they have on which you most likely won't receive?!

The worse customer service I have ever had in my life.
