the bus dropped us off blocks away from our pick up spot, and then was going to sit there until the next pick up time (near Mirabell gardens), part of our group wanted to continue on so ???

It was just a bus ride, no hop on hop off. Waste of money

What a let down. We went to the stop at Mirabellenplatz. The office was vacant and a sign indicated that the stop was temporarily moved to another side street. We waited there for an hour but no bus arrived. There is no information on the homepage. I called the number on the website twice and just got a combox/voicemail. Nobody returned my call!! I am now fighting for a refund of our tickets we purchased online. Definitely cannot recommend this hop on off bus and I have been on hop on off buses around the world.

Sadly this tour was underwhelming. I have done many hop on hop off bus tours around the world and this one did not meet expectations. The timetable was different on two different links meaning that I when I arrived 5 mins before scheduled I had to wait a further 30mins. I joined at the train station and the next stop was the gardens and everyone had to get off there as that's the end of the trip- I have never come across this before in a hop on hop off bus before. It is usually a continuous loop not a start and finish time. So another half hour wait. The driver said he'd be back in the same spot in half an hour, however he was significantly further up the road! I almost missed seeing the bus.
So finally on the road and whilst most of it was informative it could have been a little more in depth.
This isn't really advertised as Sound of Music tour so didn't expect it to be, however they do state that one of the stations has the music playing if you choose to listen to it- this wasn't happening on my tour.
At the end of the trip I needed to get off a the train station and the driver just drove on through this stop- when I approached him he said you have to press the button to stop!!- again never had this occur in other hop on hop off tours.
To top off this less than expected tour it was also raining now I know this has nothing to do with the company but with the waiting around issues it certainly impacted more so. I actually find doing a bus tour in the rain a good way to get around whilst staying dry.
Salzburg is a beautiful and wonderful spot, this tour however is not.

We are very unhappy with the attitude of your driver during our bus ride. I think he is a racist and should not work there. We can provide more details and his picture if you need it. We are requesting our money back.

Good narrative on the headphones and good driver

Goes to all of the main sights in Salzburg. But I ended up walking most of the time, so I really didn't get good value out of my ticket. But that was me, not the bus service.

The driver of the first bus I got on was a bit rude in the way he told us to get off the bus. Maybe he was having a bad day.

Driver was very rude! He also didn’t stop on any of the dedicated stops until we requested. There was another staff in the bus who just sat in front, was on his phone the whole time. He laughed with the driver when we asked that we
stop on the next stop. We felt like we were being made fun off.

We felt very uncomfortable in the tour. Our experience was bad that we had to leave the bus and walked to the final stop.

Very friendly and informative staff, willing make us feel comfortable.

We went to Salzburg for a day trip whilst staying in Munich. We thought the best way to see Salzburg was on a sightseeing bus as they have always been excellent in the past.
We caught the bus from the bus station and it was a little late. We then went to stop number 1 where we waited 20minutes. We asked where the sound of music steps were and they didn’t know.
We got off at stop 7. Very nice. We checked the timetable and the bus was another 20minutes late. By the time we got back to the start there wasn’t time to do the blue tour.
If you read this review please separate the tours to make what you can achieve in a day affordable. We wasted an hour of our day at bus stops.

Great way to see the sites

Not open top double deckers, views are restricted. Frequency is slow in peak summer months, doesn't allow boarding a bus until 5 minutes before departure keeping people waiting in the sun/heat, maps are too small, very fine print.

We purchased the Hop On Hop Off bus ticket. It was a very nice experience.

This was a wonderful experience. Great information, wonderful locations for stops, even beverages on the bus! The only area for improvement I noticed would be to extend operating hours. Stopping service just after 17:00 when most of the attractions close at 18:00 or later made us miss time we could have spent at these wonderful places.

The Hop On Hop Off bus was a great option for getting around to the most popular sites and provided a nice commentary to give an overview of the city.

When you're passing an important location, slow down and let people look at it for a minute, especially when there's no traffic behind you. Buses are too few and far between, not quite as good as the city hop on hop off tours of Vienna or London or Even Oxford
