Synchronize by The Sarah Elgeti Quintet
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of attending the Holbæk, Denmark debut of The Sarah Elgeti Quintet's second cd release, Synchronize. The first 10 cuts are original compositions by Sarah Elgeti. Numbers 11 and 12 are covers of traditional folk music (Scarbourough Fair- popularized by Simon and Garfunkel and Ein Roeslein Steh'n (A Red Rose in the Moor).
Sarah is quite an accomplished artist on saxophones and flutes. She also has a beautiful singing voice. The other musicians in the Quitntet are accomplished musicians in their own right(s).
Synchronize is classified as Jazz Music which may scare a lot of people away but I believe that some of the numbers are so original, mellow and soothing that they could crossover into mainstream, as well. Kudos to Sarah and the other fine musicians in her ensemble. The release was sponsored and held at Sparekassen Sjælland on Ahlgade in Holbæk, Denmark.
