No fish on Good Friday!!!!
9Booked for 3 adults on Good Friday at Ley Street, Ilford Branch.
Got there and was greeted with very dirty stair carpets up to the restaurant. Opened the door to blaring music and no one. Someone came out and smiled but there was no greeting. Asked what variety of fish or seafood was on the menu and was told there was none!!! In a Caribbean restaurant on Good Friday!!! Was told we should have requested it when booking or we can go to Dagenham branch for fish and prawns on their menu. Left and went to a Turkish restaurant in Wanstead that had several fish varieties on their menu, without us requesting it. Won't be back, no apology, no discount offered, guy just walked off to the kitchen. Terrible service, music louder than our conversation!
Booked a table for two
Booked a table for two
When i got there was told that they were serving a buffet style dinner and the cost would be £40 per person
As a person who can't eat large portions it would of been wasted
At the time of book this wasn't disclosed we drove all the way there for a 7pm booking and nothing was ready they were still filling the buffet dishes
Unfortunately we decided not to stay as £80 for 2 people and wasn't told it was only the buffet they were serving on that night
It's a shame as could of given it better review had we tasted the food
Would I go back
No I don't think so

I booked a table 4 weeks in advance and received an email confirmation of the booking. I also confirmed the booking over the phone a week before we were due to arrive. I then received a call a day before the booking date from 'Sasha' herself stating the booking was not confirmed, and they could not accommodate. I explained all of the above, but yet was given different excuses. One was that they have 2 large private bookings that were booked in from 3 weeks and they did not have availablity, even though I had booked 4 weeks in advance! Another excuse was their booking system is faulty. Very very disappointing. This was arranged for my son's birthday which left me with little to no time to find another restaurant at such short notice.
There was no apology, the customer service is appalling and I would not waste my money at a place that does not have any regards for their potential customers. Avoid!!
What a lovely experience!
What a lovely experience!
Had a birthday booking of 10....felt so welcome, staff was so welcome and friendly and most importantly the food was Delicious....fresh and seasoned good but not over seasoned. The Mac and cheese 10/10 my second time coming and definitely not my last. Wonderful ambience.
Thank you to the team who made my birthday feel special

Absolute Shambles
Absolute Shambles
Went to this so called Caribbean/African restaurant for what was supposed to be my hen do.
Not quite sure where to start, so here goes… firstly my maid of honour and others in this party of 14 went online and found what they thought to be a Caribbean restaurant in all accounts it looked good sounded like fun, the website looked like it was the full package (happy days) NOT.
After having lengthy conversations over the phone with the owner the booking was made followed by a deposit of £140, (food had to be preordered). Please NOTE although the food was preordered in May and we went in July some of the preorders were unavailable lol.
So now the day has come 6th July 24, my hen’s have booked and paid for a mini bus and driver to take us on our venture, we travel for an hour to get to this restaurant, on arrival I was to say at the least flabbergasted, the restaurant is situated in what looks like an industrial park, the windows haven’t been cleaned since Christ was a lad, there was some fake grass thrown on the floor and some dusty looking chairs and filthy tables leading to the entrance, ( RED FLAG).
Ok so where here it’s my hen, the girls have done there best to give me a good time, let’s get on with it, the waitress greets us and leads us to what they call the VIP area, Well this is where and when the whole shambles starts, so where seated in this dim looking area on top of what I would call a plinth, where now waiting for our starters and where waiting and where waiting, we then decide as where still waiting let’s go and take some pictures, so we’ve taken all the pictures and we go back and wait again, finally the starters start coming out, during this time some of the party including myself order some drinks, taking into account the bar is literally a spit away from where we was sitting, 20 minutes later the waitress comes over with some of the drinks mine was one of them, the drink was served in a plastic tumbler that was tired and needed to be binned (disgraceful)
So now we finally come to the main course ( I’m trying to find the words) kmt
Remember I said this was preordered, after waiting what felt like an eternity, I and few others get our food some get some of there food and some get not what they ordered,
My niece had to wait over 40 minutes for her food, one of the party gets half her food and the other half 30 minutes later.
Let’s get to the food itself, once again words fail me, now I’m a diabetic so I need to eat at certain times, I purposely didn’t eat lunch the day as I wanted to enjoy my restaurant food (I was starving) lol, I had ordered the oxtail, rice & peas, the oxtail was actually perfectly cooked falling off the bone, sadly the oxtail although cooked nicely had no taste whatsoever not one piece of basic Seasoning including salt was applied to that meat the rice & peas was like saw dust and God bless the spoonful of coleslaw (terrible) like said before I am a diabetic and I had to eat, my cousin who sat next to me had the sea bass once again it was tasteless, when she asked for salt and pepper the response from the kitchen was we haven’t got any. I think at that point I had enough.
Which restaurant in London does not have salt and pepper, down to Mc Donald’s has what I consider the basic seasoning, Caribbean restaurant no pepper sauce nothing (outrageous)
There wasn’t one person of the hen party that had anything good to say about the service not to mention the food.
Now let’s get onto the public facilities ie the toilets, the toilets are an absolute disgrace there was no lock on the lady’s toilet door, one of the sinks where blocked and a little bit of toilet roll left on the floor, totally unacceptable.
At this point it was time for us to leave, I personally couldn’t take no more I asked for the manager who quite frankly didn’t know what to do, he started to try and justify the whole shambles (but couldn’t)
As for the owner after several calls maid to her by my maid of honour (which where not answered) the manager gets her on the phone, she also couldn’t justify such poor customer service and the awful food/facilities at her restaurant.
Subsequently we left and she never got another penny, she’s got the £140 deposit and quite frankly she’s fortunate to get that.
What was supposed to be a happy hen do turned out to be the hen do from hell.
At this point I would like to thank the young waitress who tried her very best to accommodate us even though she looked around 16 years old if that. Poor girl was trying to look after 14 people on her own an impossible task and she shouldn’t be exploited or subjected to this ever, shame on the management.
In summary they need A Gordon Ramsey experience and the environmental health called in.
Under no circumstances should this restaurant come under the umbrella Caribbean, because if you are from the
Caribbean this an insult.
Go there at your peril

Don't waste your time
A group of us arrived for my sister in laws hen party, all meals were pre ordered. We were shown to the "V.I.P" section which is just a section with a raised platform.
They allocated 1 waitress to deal with 14 people. We asked if we could go to the bar and pay for drinks separately so it doesn't get confusing which was denied.
We waited 30 minutes for only four starters to come out, then 20 mins later another 2 came out. I waited almost 1 hour for my starter. Then the mains started coming out. Again they brought 2 or 3 meals and then nothing again for another 20-30 mins. I ordered jerk chicken and mac and cheese and plantain for my sides. The mac and cheese came after 40 mins then 15 mins later the plantain came, then I didn't get my jerk chicken and rice and peas for another 40 minutes, buy that time I had already eaten my sides. My friend ordered steam fish with mash potato for a side and the mash potato came 45 mins after she finished the fish. When you think it couldn't get any worse my daughters meal came out when everyone had finished. The service is beyond poor and the food isn't great. The drinks were also terrible. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri which tasted like strawberry syrup with rum.
Very disappointing we travelled over an hour to get to this place, which by the way is in the middle of no where only to be let down.
The bathroom facilities don't get me started. No toilet roll, no locks on the door, and only 1 sink working other sink had a bucket in it.
Do not waste your time or money going to this place.
Slow service even for takeaway
This was suppose to be my husband's father's day meal.
Before arriving I called to get a tablet but no one picked up. Looked to book a table via their website only met with request to pay a £40 deposit. Decided to take a chance and go to the restaurant, upon arrival we were told that they were fully booked despite their website still accepting bookings.
The hostess seemed overwhelmed and said that they are having to call people to cancel their bookings. Even a party before us who had booked days before had to wait a considerable amount of time for a table.
Decided to opt for take away, hostess was slow to take our order. After taking our order the hostess came back to say that they had no more BBQ chicken to accompany the kids meal so I opted for the fried chicken instead
We had to wait over 1hr for our food, whilst we waited we ordered two rum punch but only one arrived. The other arrived upon us leaving the restaurant. When the food finally arrived, a few items were missing (1 jerk chicken, 1 mac daddy kids meal, it and chicken wings), the mac daddy kids meal that did arrive was incorrect as it had jerk chicken on it 🙄. We couldn't wait for them to replace them so we paid and left.
The food a let down and was not worth the wait or the amount paid. The jerk chicken was in a thick jelly like sauce and I would say not authentic jerk flavouring. The mac and cheese had no flavour but my little ones liked it. The plantain was a soggy.and the rice and peas was flavourless.
Considering there were more staff than…
Considering there were more staff than customers, the service was poor. The staff were not attentive or observant. The initial service was slow. We were not asked if we wanted a second drink or dessert. They were more concerned with the music playing which got louder & louder. So loud we were shouting to hear each other over it.
The mac cheese had more cheese than maccaroni but no flavour.
The oxtail although cooked very well and a decent portion, lacked depth of flavour
The Plantain was not ripe enough.
Easy to find and parking available.
I might have been tempted to go again and try something different if the service & atmosphere had been better.
Never again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I visited Sash's restaurant with two friends on Sunday, May 19th for a 7 PM booking. Upon arrival, there were only two other people dining in the restaurant. The two staff members at the front of the house were very pleasant and showed us to our table.
Despite the restaurant being almost empty, it took 15 minutes before our drinks order was taken and another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, only for them to be incorrect. While waiting for our drinks, a third staff member joined the two girls behind the bar. He was playing with his hair and constantly touching his nose, which was quite unhygienic. In hindsight, this should have been a sign for us to leave. I did raise this concern with the staff while we were there.
We decided to stay and ordered our food. It arrived in about 20 minutes but without the sides and gravy we had ordered. Upon taking my first mouthful, I found a hair in my rice. The waitress was very apologetic and offered to change my food. However, 15 minutes later, she brought me lamb chops and fries. The lamb chops were so hard they were inedible. I can only assume they were from my original plate and had been reheated in the microwave.
The waiting staff, although very pleasant, were inexperienced and there was a general lack of professionalism. The food and cocktails were overpriced. As a result of my food being so inedible, it was deducted from our bill.
We eat out regularly and enjoy trying new restaurants. We found this place through Instagram and TikTok; the aesthetics sold it to us, but I would strongly discourage anyone else from eating here. Overpriced food, unprofessional staff, service is beyond slow, and an unhygienic environment made for a very disappointing experience.
This is the worse restaurant i have…
This is the worse restaurant i have eaten at in a very long time! The manager was so rude with such a stinking attitude, the mac and cheese was disgusting and tasted like it was from a tin, my mums lamb chops came black and dripping in browning we waited 1hr and 15 minutes for our food and sides we’re missing.
We was the only people there when we arrived so there was no need for the long wait.
The waiter was lovely and kept apologising for the wait for the price we paid the portion sizes are so small, at the end of the meal i asked to talk to the manager and expressed my concerns and how upset i was with the experience as my family travelled from Cambridge, and she sat with such a bad attitude did not apologise and replied with (ill take that on board) she did not come and great us when we arrived but was sat at the bar with an moody looking face. As an independent restaurant this behaviour is shameful and unacceptable and the manager has a lot to learn about customer service for a Saturday the restaurant was empty so should have been a red flag the manger should really think about removing alot of the food from the menu and stop focusing on how the restaurant looks but focus on how the food taste and her sticking attitude.
Honestly don’t waste your time
Honestly don’t waste your time with this place, it’s over priced, ridiculous wait times we waited an hour and 10 minutes for our food when there was nobody in there but us. The manager was rude, didn’t apologise for the bad experience. The food wasn’t good, lamb chops got sent out burnt, will not return here

Mother’s day outing!
Came here for mother’s day and all I can say is WOW! The food was AMAZING, drinks were even better! Literally no complaints at all. I was so full that I had to take it home and the sauce on the prawns?? Incredible! Will definitely be back again!
THIS IS A GENUINE REVIEW
THIS IS A GENUINE REVIEW - as I’ve noticed they like to say THANK YOU FOR THE FALSE REVIEW INSTEAD OF APOLOGISING FOR THEIR AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Terrible, well I wrote a review about this restaurant yesterday and they wrote I lied and hadn’t visited the place. The restaurant is next to a church, my friend had to ask if we were in the right place! The service, we didn’t recieve any as they were too busy in the corner chatting or in the kitchen getting food ready. We walked out after 30mins as if you can’t get a drink in that time, how long is the food going take! Was really looking forward to visiting this spot as it always shows up on my TikTok, but what a let down. The venue is not in the best place either as when we left a woman was walking down the road screaming to herself. Btw I was the lady that booked for 5pm and called you as we were running late, so asked for a 5.30 booking instead. NOT A FALSE REVIEW

Spoilt birthday celebration
Went there for a belated birthday celebration on 7 October. We were told to order our food by 3pm. We arrived at the booked time. Parking easy to find and we were seated without waiting. However, it took quite a while for someone to come and take our drinks order. Then when we came to confirm our orders, half of the food we had ordered at 3pm was not available. After ordering alternatives, our starters arrived at different times. Out of a party of 5, 2 diners finished their starters before the rest of the starters arrived. The same situation happened with the mains. Half of the party finished their food while the other half were still waiting for their food. The owner (so we were told), came out with the delayed food and served it. No apology offered. Gratefully, we received a complimentary macaroni cheese. The food received mixed reviews by our dining party, with the macaroni cheese being the most popular. I also noticed staff chatting and having casual drinks by the bar. Overall, a disappointing experience and not worth what we paid for it.

Firstly bottomless brunch is not bottomless. Expected us to pay service charge of £34 however the service was poor , one of the table members was served her food around 15 mins before the rest of table and the sides was brought out late and one was forgotten. When we said goodbye the staff ignored us very rude and won’t even be back. Also was told by staff that we are wasting food because we was full.
Awful experience
Awful experience. Barely had anything on the menu, finger food sized chicken suya and dont even bother taking the initiative by offering you those plate/trays. You have to ask for it just to be comfortable eating! Poor seasoning and waited over an hour to receive our meal. Awful and will not attend again
