From start to finish really poor…
From start to finish a really poor experience - but I still bought the car!
Booked a test drive, travelled 3 hours only to be told booking not on system and car not on site - booking had been confirmed by text and email. Half hour later got to drive it. Salesman knew nothing about the car and unable to answer basic questions. Decided to buy anyway. Figures wrong on order form. On collection day car not ready on time. Fuel warning light on despite being promised half a tank of fuel. No demo or instructions given. Just handed keys and waived goodbye. Customer service and communication were poor at all times. Discovered cruise control not working on way home. May be returning and testing the validity of their stated three month warranty.

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. If i could have scored them zero i would have.
Purchased a Range Rover Evoke. Paid a £6000 deposit. Within 40 minutes of collecting the car it couldn’t be put into drive. Once the engine cooled it was returned. 3 days later i was told no issues and the car was ready to be collected. Within 20 minutes the same fault occurred.
The following day i returned the car and rejected the car to Tom who had carried out the sale. He agreed. I then went on holiday and returned to Saxtons claiming i had no right to reject the car and that legally i have to give them 2 opportunities to fix the car. This is false and a lie by Tom.
I have formally rejected the car to them and the finance provider. Saxtons are refusing to return my deposit even though i am within my rights to reject the car within 30 days as the car sold was not fit for purpose.
I have written to them clearly explaining no one is to touch the car or undertake any works until the finance provider has undertaken an independent investigation into the fault. They have ignored this and continued to work on the car.
This has been the worst car buying experience of my life. Do not trust them with your business especially Tom (salesman) and Ali (sales manager). They don’t have any sense of sympathy, apathy or morality. They have happily left myself and my pregnant wife car less and out of pocket £6000 whilst continuing to breach the consumer rights act and continue to not communicate or take any responsibility for the car.

Good service (but a little slow to start with)
The sales process from initial enquiry was very smooth and discussions held about the car and the purchase were handled professionally. Only reason this was not 5* was that we were kept waiting for 1:45mins because the MOT and Valeting team had not organised themselves to have the car ready for our arrival. Matt Wheat, our sales consultant was very good keeping us informed but was let down by the other teams not knowing who was doing what. Apart from that - all good and I would buy from here again.

Ismail! The man, the myth… THE LEGEND
I had a great experience dealing with Ismail at Saxtons. He is a very clear and concise communicator, which made the whole process straightforward and stress-free. His knowledge and ability really stood out, and he handled everything professionally from start to finish.
What impressed me most was his after-sales support – he didn’t just disappear after the deal was done. He remained helpful, responsive, and ensured everything was as it should be.
Overall, a very capable salesperson and a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend asking for Ismail if you’re considering buying from Saxtons.

It was the worst experience I’ve ever had in purchasing anything. Jenna and Matthew Wheat are well aware of my issues and I suggest you speak with them.
I am still waiting for a call regarding returning the car for workshop repairs and still waiting for refund of my funds I am owed.

Please be extremely cautious buying a car from this company.
Range rover purchased and major fault indentified within 4 weeks. Allowed them to do the repairs but in hindsight wish I had rejected the car.
A few months later another issue with the car which completely cut out in the middle of the road
with a cost of more than £1000 to repair. Saxtons not interested in helping this time. Referred me to a warranty they recommended at the time of purchase at an additional £3000. We were led to believe the warranty was all singing and all dancing but when you read the small print there are so many exclusions its not really worth the paper its written on.
Just 10 days after second repair we have had the car serviced only for several other issues to be identified including with suspension and sensors which will cost thousands more to fiz.
We got rid of our old car to get a newer model but we have had more issues with the new car in 6 months than we have ever had with any car before!
