Very well organised. Seamless travel experience from home to ship. Driver waiting at airport to take us to hotel. We had decided to have an extra night in Bordeaux which Scenic organised for us. Bus picked us and fellow travellers up from the hotel on time for the short journey to the ship. Ship docked in a very good location in Bordeaux which made it easy to walk into the town if you wanted to.
Staff on the ship were excellent. Always smiling and willing to do anything that you asked for. It was also good to see some of the staff that we had encountered on a Rhone cruise the previous year who remembered us.
Very good choice of tours with knowledgeable tour guides. Perhaps not long enough time in some places eg Arcachon which could have sustained more than a couple of hours .
Cabins small but adequate for purpose. Only negative was the position of the in room safe which was at floor level and necessitated getting down on the floor to operate it.

The staff looked happy and there was a good culture. The food was good and wines could be better.

The evening entertainment was so la la expected better singers and things to do.

The service was excellent.

I have just come back from Douro cruse with Lisbon extension. This is the first time I have been with Scenic and was expecting something really special as it advertises itself as “Super-Luxury” and has a price tag to go with it.
Well it was enjoyable but definitely not Super Luxury. The cabins are good and the excursions well organised. The food though was a bit of a disappointment particularly lunch (except the day they did a BBQ) the choice at lunch was limited and the “hot dish” was something like luke warm pesto pasta.
The Lisbon extension was a bit of a waste of time too as we live in UK, could have easily done the same ourselves on along weekend. The “Wellcome dinner” (the only meal included in this part of the trip) was moved to the third night and was nothing special when we had it. If their usually restaurant was not available they should have found somewhere else.
This was our first river cruise so do not have direct comparison to make but we have been with Star Clippers before and they were better, certainly the food.
Conclusion pleasant but not “Super Luxury” by any stretch of the imagination.

All staff were brilliant, from the Captain through to bar staff, cleaners and the rest. The cabins were serviced to the highest level. We had a great time and the the dining was truley first class

Excellent accommodation, great food, really nice staff, and most trips/tours were exceptional.

I had a wonderful cruise in France so booking the Mekong with scenic was the obvious choice

Everything was great except the food which was on most occasions was only warm!
The crew were great in their service & made the holiday one to remember, the warmth of the food though?.........

We regularly travel with Scenic.
We've yet to have a bad experience that has not been overcome almost before you've realised there might be a problem.
Absolutely excellently organised.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
We have no hesitation is thoroughly recommending them.

The guy at the Bucharest departure airport could do better, I felt he could have done more than pointing toward the check-in and disappearing. Perhaps hung around for possible problems?

Excellent coach tour holiday staying at lovely Fairmont hotels. Well done tour director Greg and coach driver Richard who both kept us to timetable.

Faultless. Didn't have to think about anything. All arranged and went like clockwork.

As Diamond members we have considerable experience of both ocean and river cruising with Scenic. We have experienced inconsistencies across, for instance, Eclipse and Eclipse II, making it difficult to know exactly what to expect. Mostly the product is excellent. We have another river cruise in July and an ocean cruise in September, with two further cruises booked for 2027 and 2028. We would, and do, recommend Scenic over other similar products.

Rewards are good for peoplr who sail a lot but are less rewarding for Emerald status members since the Scenic and Emerald rewards programms were merged,

Everything was very well organised, food was super, staff were ALL fabulous and caring. The Cruise Director was super. Booked another one for next year.

An excellent holiday on the Danube river cruise.
Staff were excellent, food was excellent everything was really great.

Lyon to Lyon on the Scenic Saphire May 2026. I am fortunate to have travelled the world on some luxury ships, hotels, trains etc. This was my 2nd Scenic River Cruise - the first one 10 years ago. My main reason for booking was to meet up with some Aussie friends who are big fans of Scenic. It is an Australian owned company. The first thing that really upset me, was them wanting the total cost of the holiday paid upfront over a year in advance. I point blank refused. Why should they have my money so far in advance. What would happen if they went into financial administration? That was the first hurdle. Next hurdle, missing out on pre-booked excursions months before departure. My Travel Agent was brilliant in negotiating with Scenic - which resulted in me being able to attend the excursions I wanted to go to that had to be pre-booked. The excursions were very good. Next was seeing that a free taxi transfer from home to airport and return advertised in the Sunday papers. This had not been offered to me. So again, my Travel Agent had to fight with Scenic to get this organised for me. Others from the UK knew nothing about the free transfers. The boat is tired. There are not enough seats in the lounge for the number of guests. The arm chairs and sofas are so low that most of the elderly clientele can hardly get out of them!!! Not enough waiting staff in the bars and restaurant. Catering well under what is expected for what was paid. Beef was tough on more than one occasion. Small portions no option for more. Lunches were terrible quite honestly. Beverages were good and plentiful - although finding a waiter could be challenging - especially at lunchtime.
I could go on, but I think you can see what I am getting at. The entertainment onboard was average. Overall disappointing. I would not travel with Scenic again. I have rated it 3 stars for the following: Great Cruise Director and deputy Cruise Director, Reception Team, the crew who manage all of the luggage, and the bar staff who were very obliging and helpful. My Butler was lovely but my friends never saw theirs. I really As I said earlier found the excursions were very good. I enjoy Ocean Cruising but would not travel with Scenic's offerings as I believe there a far better options on the market at the Scenic price point.
