Assignments were designed and presented well and I learned valuable, professional workflow techniques. My TA was courteous, insightful, and responsive.

In case you're lost on how to start learning about Motion Graphics or even After Effects, let me tell you this is the place.

I’ve learnt the basics very well, plus it was fun.

This course was exactly what I was looking for. A highly reputable instructor teaching a niche skill set within an already niche creative field.

I enjoyed the flexible nature of the course (I work full-time in the day) and gained a lot of practical knowledge. The skills and more importantly the workflow are going to be invaluable in the future. I also know how much work certain effects shots require and can confidently gauge if something a client asks is reasonable or wildly overreaching.

The only reason I don’t give the course a 5/5 is because I found the Notes feature to be quite buggy. It’s great being able to add time stamped notes to lessons, but half of the time the UI would get hung up and then I’d end up losing comments or having to reload the page again and finding my spot. Excellent in theory, but needs some more refinement to make the experience more user friendly.

The class has given me a wealth of information about the foundations of motion design, its history, and current topics (a lot of discussion about finding one's way in the industry, is invaluable!). One of the most awesome components of taking the course was having the opportunity to observe industry professionals teach; discuss foundations, principles, history, and current practices, which are then reinforced with project-based learning.

Excellent instructions. Worth the price and time spent. It's hard but the course focuses on you learning and is very flexible. I cannot wait to learn more and plan on taking more classes. Thank you SOM!

School of Motion made a lot of promises leading up to my class, and they delivered on every one and then some. I am a much stronger motion designer after just one class and I can't wait to start my next one.

SOM provides very intensive courses with thorough knowledge presented by accomplished motion graphic designers. Every student has his Teaching Assistant that helps students with their progression and completion of assignments and provides constructive critics.

I can't say enough good things about School of Motion courses, but also the staff/TA's, AND the community. I will be back again!

I would 100% recommend SOM, for anyone thinking about going into motion graphics. I certainly feel like I've pushed my skills in a short space of time.

I found the course to be very well put together!
Every tool and technique was explained in a way
that gave context as to how or why it would be used in a real world professional workflow. It definitely helped me fill in some holes and gaps in my knowledge of the software even though I've been using these programs for years. I felt like it brought me up to speed with more current and efficient techniques that helped my workflow.
Great investment!

The course was fine, pretty basic. You get two lectures and two exercises a week.

SOM's Illustration for Motion course is packed with relevant industry info and tips for becoming a better illustrator. The lessons are well structured and you get lots of homework to put it into practice. I put in too many hours to count them but I learned so much in these couple of months that I feel I really went from beginner to intermediate. The learning is not over, but now I have a workflow and the knowledge to continue to improve. Well worth the time and investment if you fully commit.

The Animation Bootcamp is a great experience, very intense but gold informations. The videos "this week in bootcamp" even though were not the sexiest at first sight are maybe where I've learnt the most. The classes are great, and the square community very involved. My only comment would be about the feedback from the TA, somehow I imagined it would be more constructive and pushing towards improving. Here I was feeling comforted but not always pushed to do more, and it was what I was expected when I first subscribed to this course.
