One star as it won't allow a score of 0 literally works only 2% of the time. Its tragic. Some serious issues that never seem to get resolved. But you're obliged to.use it as the schools force you too.

Every time I want to add balance for my kids ,I get annoyed because the page where the page doesn't allow me to put bank details.after so many tries I gave up.

£15 payed, not showing, its a scam, cash from now on, and I want my £15 back
I can’t wait for my son to leave school…
I can’t wait for my son to leave school so I will never have to use this useless system ever again.
The whole process is painful, I thought it had improved when the option to save a card was finally added, (only 6 years to late), but it still excels in its inability to be a user friendly experience.
In my experience you can no longer get a saved card or credit card to work and only debit cards are accepted. When a transaction fails which seems to be about 4 in 5 times it clears the basket and you have to state the whole process again.
There is also a complete lack of information about the account and information they hold, if you do go into the your info section it brings up a list of what my son has eaten not as you would expect things like saved details and passwords etc.
Sadly this will not help if your child’s school opts for this system you will be stuck with it. But if you are considering using this company as a payment solution I’d suggest you look elsewhere!
So time consuming and glitchy
Complete rubbish, takes ages, have to pay for each item separately entering card details each time. Sluggish and often fails meaning I have to start again. My other sons school use parentpay, it's so easy, takes less than a minute to login and pay by BACS.
Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. Not easy to use as it is Now I can’t make a payment for 2 days and daughter back to school
Very poor.
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Their system NEVER updates anything.my daughters school meals just say the same balance from a month ago.
Should have better systems before they started this god awfull web
It's totally impossible to get a refund…how they keep our money
It's totally impossible to get a refund from them, I've for money still on my sons dinner money, no option on app for refund, no way of contacting them, they even say they can't help you have to go to the school, who don't know what to do to get it refunded, they tell you to go to Scopay, who tell you to go to the school, hoops so they can keep your money, don't pay anything in advance, I didn't know I'd one day need free school meals, now Scopay are making it so hard, if not impossble to give me back my money. If I could give no stars I would

A very frustrating app that will not let you save your bank details! I like the fact I get an email to top up my child’s lunch account balance & I want to be able to do it straight away… but unless I have my card with me I can’t!! So sometimes I forget!! Please sort out this simple issue,
Thank you
Incompetent app
Why will you not save payment details in the app? Why can't I pay for both children at once? Your App is DREADFUL and we are forced to use it as parents. Don't be so lazy - please get it fixed.
Is there a zero or minus star option in…
Is there a zero or minus star option in the review cause this app is the worst app in the world. It is so difficult to get the credit card month and year selection box out. It is just a so simple thing but this app cannot do it... So it takes half an hour everytime to make a payment, sometimes I have to give up cause too pissed off.
Literally the worst platform I have…
Literally the worst platform I have ever used. What purchasing platform makes you upload funds before selecting items? - and when you pick multiple items you then have to check out and pay for each item individually. Honestly can't believe they are in business.
Rubbish from Parents perspective.
I love the ability to pay for school meals and trips online or via the app and check balances - but the SCOPAY user interfaces for me as a parent who wishes to top-up have been awful. Thankfully after 10 years my youngest will be leaving soon and I wont have to endure the battle to make simple payments. There is no option to save payment details and entering card details is fraught with difficulties and system crashes- then you have to prove you are not a robot - another game of chance!. 10 years ago I was more understanding as these things were new - but to still experience the same poor systems in 2021 is a joke. I have tried explaining to the schools but they don't really understand - but to be fair its not their area of expertise. Get a grip Scopay!
Hi i hate using this to top up for my…
Hi i hate using this to top up for my son as it does not save details. I use another app for my other child and that is so good (parentpay). I have the ability to add credit to a parent account and i can easily transfer it over to a child account to pay for their lunch or other items. I do not have this luxury to do this with scopay. This means if i don't have my bank card with me at certain times, i am then unable to topup in case i have forgotten. I would expect something simple as saving my card details on the app whereby we can input our cvc number only rather than going over the whole payment procedure.
As a parent, it's horrible to use
As a parent, my main interaction is ordering school meals. Each day has to be entered individually and laboriously requires three clicks (tap on day, tap on choice, tap ok), once for each child. This even though:
1. I know I want 'main' meals for nearly every day (unless it contains the allergen Quorn)
2. There's no point in making me press 'ok' to confirm the choice: I've literally just clicked on it, and fixing an error would in any case be quicker by just re-selecting the day (because clicking ok every time becomes a reflex).
3. If my device has a physical keyboard, I should be able just to tap the meal code for each day in the calendar view.
4. If I'm on a phone or tablet, I should be able to select meals from a table of check boxes, one row for each day of the month, meal choices in columns.
This user interface feels like it was designed by someone from the 1970s working on ancient mainframes. It's a minimum viable product, but it is in dire need of user focus testing.
If you are a school, don't choose this unless you want to annoy your parents.
Awful app
Awful app. It won't let you see what your typing, gets stuck on information fields all the time and crashes and does not remember payment details. Extremely frustrating and fairly useless!
What an appalling App SCOPAY is
What an appalling App SCOPAY is. Obviously it is obligatory to use once a school signs up for the ‘service’ but I can’t remember coming across such a poorly functioning app in many years. I use the iPhone App which fails to display text entry fields when entering details such as name, card payment details etc. Very frustrating and time consuming in order to add funds to my daughters account.
If you are a school considering signing up for this please consider the awful experience your parents will be subjected too. Any company that is happy to circulate such a poor product is surely prioritising profit over their user experience. No app needs to be so poor these days.
Frustrating
All over the place! Full of irritating little glitches and issues that make it literally impossible to "prove you are not a robot"
Cant find anywhere with info on who to contact or how to contact them regarding these issues.
Very frustrating!!
Horrible
Horrible. Just HORRIBLE!!! I absolutely HATE this app. It is not intuitive at all and when I tried to use the help to change the email address the entire thing broke and now it doesn't recognise the old email or the new one and doesn't send verifications or password reset instructions to either email address.
Unnecessarily Complex front end and user experience
In all honesty, the system is far far too complex for a simple payment system. As a dedicated HR back-office system I'm sure it does everything required by a school and more, however the Customer (parent) UI and process steps are a minefield and far to lengthy to enable a hassle-free, easy to navigate and use experience.
Modern customer navigable, Payment & Purchase systems are designed to be extremely easy to use for all levels of IT ability, the fact that a customer is sent 3 large PDF documents detailing flow-charts describing how to use and navigate the system says that the system is unnecessarily complicated for a modern payment system.
