Patience Required
From my initial payment on 13/05/25 I am now officially divorced on 20/11/25. So 6 months as opposed to the 10 weeks I was initially told.
Yes, the Scottish courts aren’t the speediest, I get that. But it was the initial advice given to me that seemed to be outdated, with my having to resubmit a lot of forms because the “process had changed”. That was disappointing as it added time and stress to the situation, especially as my children’s birth certificates were at stake.
Also, my representative would be out of the office or at one point on a two week holiday with no colleagues assigned to my case, so I was left in limbo for lengthy periods of the process when I needed advice/guidance.
For the most part, I’m glad it’s over and done with now of course, but I would advise people bear in mind the length it took and to consider this when applying.
