After extensive & evasive work on the street to raise the, already unusually high, kerbs......another harebrain temporary fix courtesy of Scottish Water fails again ...the street begins to flood.
No point in calling these cowboys though, as they've refused to listen or fix the ACTUAL issue in over 10 years.
NO care for the houses that will flood tonight AGAIN.
NO care for the damage that will be caused tonight AGAIN.
NO coherent plans to fix the real issue AGAIN.
Ongoing now for well over 10 years; FFS Scottish Water just do the work! Fix the BL®®DY drains!
Contract clearance 3 months late
Despite their worthy claims on the poral, this publicly owned network has not replied to my complaint on their contracted septic tank clearance scheduled for October, 2021 despite my weekly phone calls. Most recent "reason" two weeks ago was they are trying to schedule it... Now, about to enter a new year, that's three months overdue. Even their PR team does not respond.
Scottish Water at their best again!
Scottish water let me down again after a week of waiting for them to call me back with an emergency septic tank empty. They have now left me with blocked and backing up drains over the Christmas period, saying there is nobody there to take calls now until Wednesday next week and then hanging up on me mid-call! Very helpful with 7 people in the house including 4 small children!
Extremely poor service
Extremely poor service. Failed to empty septic tank in September. Promised they’d be back in a couple of weeks. It’s now 3rd December and my several calls were dealt with very politely but I never get the promised call back from the septic tank dept. Very frustrating as none of their difficulties and failures stopped them billing me for the emptying that never took place.
Great service
Have had call to use Scottish Water a few times over the years and recently regarding a suspected sewer issue in the road outside my home. Contact has always been friendly and efficient from all staff with the response time in each case being above expectations, and the matters resolved satisfactorily.
Excellent all round.
Nobody at Scottish water is interested…
Nobody at Scottish water is interested in helping with a problem. It's just a call centre. The people read off a script and tell a pack of lies just to get you off the phone. They say they will contact the necessary department but don't do it. Nobody calls you back as arranged, with an update. Any problem is bounced onto anyone else so they don't have to deal with it. They are a disgrace!
very poor workmenship
this company repaired a damaged water meter on my property. after a few days water was leaking under ground for weeks and my bill was £500 pounds instead of£100 and i had to employ a plumber at £700 to repair damage. due to their shoddy work.

I have a small shop in Perth and pay for my water, like all businesses do, via a supplier. My bills were massive and after a lot of investigating I proved that three other properties were connected to my water meter. I was picking up the total bill. This was 6 months ago and no one at Scottish Water is interested. My supplier is also not much help but, to be fair, they were told by Scottish Water that the meter was just for my property. Come on Scottish Water! act responsibly and sort this out. All I want is a proper supply for my shop and compensation for all the water I have paid for but went to other premises CAS1439958
RE: Business Stream Account: 2818768 - Complaint 02709207
RE: Business Stream Account: 2818768 - Complaint 02709207your correspondence below clearly demonstrates the incompetence of persons at business stream. On the 28th May, you advised that I had 7 days to respond! There are 31 day in May and this is the 2nd of June, being 5 days!! If you are the manager and you can’t count up to 7, then pity help the rest of the staff at Business Stream. As you are clearly incapable of understanding clear facts and figures, I demand that you supply me with the name of your superior. This whole saga started because you have the wrong postcode. The correct postcode for the premises is AB23 8BT, not AB23 8YY. Five years ago, Scottish water visited the premises and concluded that the sewerage, rain water etc was to a septic tank and that the water supply was from a well. Three years ago, exactly the same happened. Approximately 2 years ago, after numerous failed appointments, because Scottish Water attended the wrong address at AB23 8YY. After an almighty row, Scottish Water visited the premises and confirmed the septic tank and the well. It would appear that every time Scottish water appoints another collection agent, we go back to square one! You have appointed 3 different collection agents, raised an action in the court, only for all of them to be left in a very embarrassing position by having to admit that Business Stream and Scottish Water have got it wrong. Indeed, one lawyer advised that they would no longer work for Business Stream owing to the level of incompetence. For the avoidance of doubt, I will once again advise you that this building has not been occupied for over 8 years. It is an agricultural and fisheries building which was used for the purpose of salmon netting which was banned by the Scottish Government in 2016.
Excellent customer service
Problem with water flow in my house so I requested assistance via the portal online and next day a member of the team was sent to my home. He was really helpful, checking lots of different things as they had been doing work outside my home the previous week. Upshot was, the issue was actually in my house so he requested a plumber to come next day. Issue resolved very quickly: great service. Even a follow up call to check I was happy with result. Well done Scottish Water, you could teach others about good customer service.
Blocked drain
I phoned to report sewage coming up from a drain in my driveway at 08:30 . Was told by the very helpful call handler that someone would be out within 8 hours to look at the problem. An hour and a half later the drain was unblocked , sewage cleaned away and disinfected by a very polite and helpful team member. Excellent service.
Disgusting smell again!!!!!!!!
I used to think Scottish water was a good company but have recently found out they like so many others, outsource and just don't care.
The company they outsourced the running and maintenance of Seafield Sewage Plant Edinburgh to is Veolia, a french company who have done the minimum, which has resulted in a disgusting sewage smell over a large part of the city.
This is a yearly problem going back decades that has never been fixed. It was supposed to be fixed in 2007 but now they are saying work will start in 2021.
