A not so Merry Christmas from SCS Birstall

Don’t ever ordered anything from this company especially the Birstall store It’s the worst customer service I have ever experienced my dining table was purchased back in May but rocked and I am still awaiting a replacement 2 days before Xmas, not only was I lied to by the store manager Alex the customer service department in the same store said they would ring me first thing in the morning to sorted my table out knowing full well the store would be closing until Boxing Day, thanks Birstall SCS from all my guests at Xmas who couldn’t sit around a table on Xmas Day. Wouldn't ever purchase from them again. Dreadful customer service.

Wouldn't ever purchase from them again.
Terrible customer service with little or no follow up when issues arise. You end up chasing them the whole time. Its as if they are hoping you will just forget about your issues and stop contacting them.
They are also very poor in their general communication, not informing you that products are coming from separate suppliers and therefore separate deliveries. Ended up taking time of work for half a delivery when I was expecting the whole of my order.
Their products are ok, but this does not make up for the terrible service provided. Would provide 0 stars if this was an option.

SCS Cribbs Causeway - carpet

SCS Cribbs Causeway - lots of choice and big reductions on some carpets - fitting was pricey compared to my local independent fitter plus a delivery charge of £30 made the whole thing feel tense for a moment, then when I thought I was getting the interest free payment deal it was suddenly a bit of a challenge. However, instantly £25 off the price. Plus, fitter came exactly as promised and worked in his Christmas socks. Excellent!

Still no sofa & terrible customer service

We ordered a corner sofa & chair at the beginning of October from scs Birstall. We were told by the store manager we would have our order in 6 to 8 weeks. We are still waiting for our order & now have no sofa in our house as we sold our old one thinking ours would come soon. We have rang the store every week for the last 3 weeks & are still waiting for an answer for when our sofa will come. Every time we ring; someone always promises to ring us back with info about our order but they never do. Very bad customer service & when we said we would cancel our order the person we spoke to wasn't even bothered. We haven't ordered a sofa before; wouldn't use scs again for any further orders.

Dundee store was horrendous

Recently went into the Dundee store, horrendous customer service. Not one person who worked there approached us or acknowledged our presence in the store even when we walked past two men on the stairs. We were ignored and they carried on their conversation. We left the store after 5 minutes, we actually saw a sofa we liked but decided that because of the ignorance of the staff we were not going to even think about purchasing a sofa from there. There was also a female who appeared very loud (possibly a manager) who was preoccupied with putting up notices and complaining about it. Terrible customer service. We won’t be visiting again and actually purchased from Sofology instead.

Absolutely dreadful company

Absolutely dreadful company! After a house fire we ordered carpets and two sofas in April this year, for delivery in July. Carpets no problem. Sofas however, delayed, early September, delayed, late September, delayed, early October! One sofa delivered 10th October, they couldn't get second in! Reordered a recliner extra £350! Guaranteed for Xmas! Now telling me February next year! Took 3 emails before I got a reply! Sorry nothing we can do!
They ruined what should've been a happy homecoming, and now they are going to ruin our Xmas!

Broken promises and poor communication

Was quoted 6 weeks for delivery, is finally coming Saturday after nearly 14 weeks. We have had to chase up all along the way, no one from scs has contacted us or has offered us an explanation or apology.

We were also told we could get a certain fabric later to be told it wasn’t available for the chosen chair size. We then had to chase up to get a refund for the price difference in the different fabrics. (We we’re told someone would contact us to sort the refund but again, no one made contact and it was left up to us to do it).

Would not recommend scs to anyone

My order was ment to come yesterday i waited in all day no call or text whatsoever come 7 pm i was still waiting i tried calling the store no answer by the time they answered it was nearly 8pm they said the van had been loaded and was on its way its 7am the next day and still no sight of my new sofas.

Just horrible!

Well to be honest I am not sure where to start with our appalling experience with this company. After originally ordering with an SCS employee we were very happy. We had the carpet measurer round and explained exactly what we wanted in each room. We were extremely clear about wanting the two downstairs living rooms stripes running long ways (both in the same direction). We booked our carpets in to be delivered and fitted on the 24th November and our furniture to follow a week later on the 1st December.
Much to our dismay the 24th November is when our problems started. The carpet fitter was great but despite his best efforts he had been told to bring the incorrect carpets. For two of our rooms we ordered striped carpets and were delivered plain – we were informed that that is what was asked for on the paperwork. Well our paperwork proved otherwise. We refused delivery of those carpets as they were not what we ordered. We were then informed it would be a week before we could have those two carpets fitted (not ideal at all when we were on a schedule but there was nothing we could do so we agreed and they informed us that the furniture would be rescheduled too). Then on Wednesday the 29th the carpet fitter rang, he could fit the carpets that day as they had arrived in that day’s delivery, we very happily agreed.
Much to our horror the carpet fitter came with the incorrect carpet for one of the rooms (AGAIN!!) someone at SCS had decided in their infinite wisdom that we wanted one room’s stripes to run long-ways and the other to run widthways. No, that doesn’t even make sense! So we once again were told they would have to order the carpet, causing us further delay. We were very angry at this point with getting messed around but again there was nothing we could do but wait and put up with further upheaval in our home.
We were then contacted by the furniture depot department of SCS and we were very rudely told we needed to accept delivery of the furniture the next day as they were ready in the warehouse. We were informed that we could not refuse the delivery; I told her in no uncertain terms we couldn’t possibly accept delivery of the furniture when they hadn’t even laid our living room carpet yet.
The woman on the phone answered that we should have thought of that before ordering them. Not being funny but had they delivered us the correct carpets the first time we would have had an entire week before it became an issue! I was informed that due to me being ‘difficult’ over the phone any correspondence now had to go through the store we purchased from. I told her we had no intention of booking a delivery for the furniture until after the carpet was successfully laid just in case they brought the wrong one again.
The carpet fitter FINALLY brought the correct carpet on the 5th of December and fitted it for us. So we moved on to getting our furniture, ringing SCS we were informed we couldn’t have it until the 12th of December (further delay caused by this nightmare company) we tried to explain how we had already lost so much time and we just wanted our furniture we were supposed to have weeks ago. We were told there wasn’t an earlier date available so we agreed to receive the furniture on the 12th of December (today).
Well we were woken up at god knows what o’clock this morning by a phone call from the delivery driver informing us that they were outside, there was no pre-warning, no phone call the day before with a timeslot and they even thought they had the right to fill out their own customer satisfaction survey on the paper work…err NO!
You did not ring us an hour before the delivery (despite you ticking yes on the paperwork), you did not treat our furniture well during the delivery (despite you ticking yes)– I watched as you rolled the twister chair from the height of the back of your van onto the cold hard ground without any care to the damage you may have caused to it! (you basically threw it, it even bounced with the impact), and we did not check the furniture was ok (despite you once again ticking yes) as you told us we had 3 days to check it and you were in a rush.
So all in all we would never recommend your company! We have had problem after problem and given the amount of money we spent we would never have believed you would treat us so horribly – but you did!

STAY AWAY FROM SCS!!

After sales customer service non existent! Dreadful company. Once they have your money they are not interested! Purchased a carpet that was not fitted properly. I’ve contacted the Bradford store, left several messages for the manager, but received no response. Left messages with Sales Directors office, and no response from them either! Take my advice and keep away from SCS!!!

we recently visited the Leckwith store …

we recently visited the Leckwith store and was served by a gentleman called Richard Gere , we first bought our sofa with him and his customer service was amazing we went back and purchased laminate flooring and a rug. Richard dealt with the whole of our order and I would highly recommend him highly efficient and pleasant salesman . Thank you Richard for your amazing customer service and advice .

worst customer service ever received
asked for one carpet ended up having to have another and then promise you everything under the sun and never receive anything; went into see manager (LISA) who was very abrupt and spoke to you like you was something on the bottom of her shoe. ended up with some compensation that trust me does not cover for the rubbish we have had to put up with.
unless you are an upmarket customer I would not recommend anyone go there !!!

Received our sofa

Received our sofa. Brilliant quality and love it only problem it doesn't fit. We gave the person in store the maximum length of what we could have and the sofa we picked would have fit without the corner arm. I said I really wanted an arm on the other end would that fit and he said yes plenty of room will definitely fit, so we paid over £1300 for something that doesn't fit!. We now have to get a brick worker in to adjust our room as we needed the sofa before Christmas as us or our baby would not have anything to sit on! So unable to return..more money before christmas... Your delivery company were lovely just a shame staff on stores do not know complete dimensions of sofas that are not on show or if they do then when people tell them the maximum they can go don't assume it is an estimate!
We also said we cannot have the sofa until December or after the last weekend of November but this was not taken on and we had to receive it early which is good if you have the time and people available to be there, so we had to rearrange personal and important things we were doing to make sure we were in.

Intimidated by staff

I couldn’t give zero stars so they got one. I was harassed and intimidated by a staff member who I complained about for misinforming me. Having them challenge me when I went into the store for a refund was not my idea of good customer service. They got my order wrong and caused me to break down into tears on more than one occasion. What should have been a pleasant experience turned into an escalated complaint to their head office. Never again.

So Far so Good,...

We have purchased new flooring for our whole house from SCS at Cribbs Causeway. We were given courteous, expert advice by Keith Bradshaw. He was not pushy, rather he was happy for us to make our won choices and advise when requested. Prices were competitive without being special. Mark subsequently came and did the measuring up and again we were impressed with his helpful approach and professionalism. Our only disappointment so far has been the absence of the promised follow up call to arrange fitting. Once fitting is complete we will review the process again. However we have liked the team we have met thus far

Zero customer service, do not buy from scs

My suite arrived Monday, one chair with different legs. This was noted on delivery receipt, both myself and delivery team phoned . They were indifferent, and despite spending 2000 pounds, I cannot expect to get what I ordered it seems. I have had no response, despite emailing all my details. They do not know what customer service is, and I will be posting daily updates here until this is resolved

Scs middlebrook

Scs middlebrook, Bolton. Absolute nightmare with this company. After waiting 10 weeks for jitchennflooring to be delivered, losing a days holiday and the delivery not turning up then today another farce!

We had a lengthy discussion with the sajesnan about replacing the flooring in our kitchen/orangery. The salesman recommended a product that could simply go over our existing tiled floor. A surveyor came out and measured everything and recommended the same flooring as the salesman. Today thevfitters arrived and NO the floor has to be screened! Another £220 on top of all the other costs.

This is an absolute joke throwing money after money that we cannot afford.

The worst part is that scs do not care, they simply want to sell you the products. No ethics at all!! Head office are no help whatsoever either.

Do not buy any products from this company without checking with the fitters first because the surveyors and salesmen don’t know what they are talking about.

Shame on you SCS!!!

Update - the manager has just phoned and they will pay for the screed to be done. Can’t say fairer than that!
