Great programs for pre-med students. I hope they will offer a 300 level parasitology class as well, like the class offered at New England University Online or university of Florida.

The course accomplished my needs. Nothing special about it. The instructor was not following a grading rubric for the discussion posts and did not provide further explanation how to improve grades in that section.

The entire class was presented in a very understandable and concise way. It was easy to follow, and the professor was available by email whenever needed.

Flexibility was great for anyone working or who has a busy schedule. However, if something happens for example you are sick or have the stomach flu and miss one lab day you won’t have a chance to make it up in any kind of way and it’ll cost you a grade.

This course is very fast paced. The professors are helpful, but ultimately the exams are taken from McGraw Hill test banks. The questions come from over 200 pages of reading and might be about something written in parenthesis. Thus, it feels like you can study for hours and be asked about something you've never heard of. I think the exam test banks do not accurately gauge students understanding, nor provide an opportunity for true learning. To do well, you have to memorize a lot of information and have a large foundation of knowledge to build off of. I think if the professors were able to change the structure of the course it would be better.
Tutoring is really helpful. The professors are understanding and willing to help and give extensions if you ask. I wish they would actually write the exams.
Also, you can drop the class up until the very last day of the course, so you should submit all the homework and discussion posts to boost your grade and your final grade will jump up even if it seems low.

This course is exactly what I wanted as it is online and works best for me as an employee. However, it is essential to point out this is an intensive, self-paced course, which requires more time to study the materials and take time to finish the requirements for each module. Most importantly, you will need to learn to study by yourself, as there are no lectures provided, and somehow, this can be helpful regarding the short time between each module.
One of my favorites regarding this course is the discussion part, as you really will not meet any of your colleagues, the only way to communicate was the discussion board for each module.
One thing I wished for was that the deadline for the Exam was a little bit different than the deadline for modules, as you will need to finish the requirement for the module earlier to have more time to study for the exam.

The instructor was very unresponsive to messages. Sometimes a week to respond.

I wanted to get back into furthering my science knowledge since not taking a science class since HS. Courses were great to get my reqs in. It did take a while to get used to being in a "classroom" and studying again but it was a thoroughly enjoyable albeit hard experience!

Asynchronous class
Accessibility and speed is cool, but be aware you are going to literally teach yourself everything. As this is my second experience taking these classes at scuhs, taking these lectures offer no help nor do the professors make any changes to set their student up for success. My class averages were a F on each exam and no adjustments or announcement's were made to set the class up for success. All their "resources" they give to help are just copy and paste information from previous instructors prior. The only resource you get that helps you is the free textbook included w your $1650 tuition. Labs are way easier to manage and they give more resources than the lectures, a general video description of each concept. At that, each block just uses recycled canvas posting from the past in hopes the student will learn the information on their own. Overall, accessibility and time deadlines is the only pro I can see by taking this class.
It is very hard to manage a lecture/lab if one is working part-time and still be successful in this class because you really have to teach yourself everything. The 5 week span will be very hard as it will require you to spend a vigorous amount of time dedicated to not only finishing the 25 assignments a week and an exam, but also preparing yourself to teach all the information on your own. These are things to consider when selecting your class. It is very awesome to be so accessible , but not setting each student up for success is what stands a program out from another accelerated program. An honest review.
While I appreciate the ability to take a course with an accelerated pace to help me quickly satisfy my grad school prerequisites, prospective students should know that you will be teaching yourself all of the material. There are no lectures from the professors - and, as such, it is impossible to know what information is important to remember and what isn't. My experience with this course was me reading multiple chapters of the textbook to myself, taking vigorous notes and making hundreds of flashcards, studying to truly understand the key topics...and then being completely flabbergasted when it came to exams to see that many of the questions were about outrageously obscure facts. It felt like I was getting tested on my ability to memorize 500+ pages of a textbook in 5 weeks (an impossible task) instead of my ability study, synthesize, and explain key concepts.
The fact is, this is a 5 week course, and it's simply impossible to memorize/synthesize all of the information in the textbook, so you need to pick your battles and choose what to focus your studies on. I ultimately chose to focus on things that I knew would actually be relevant to my grad program, rather than remembering the intensely detailed steps of a process that I'll forget by next week. If the professors offered lectures or gave more detailed study guides (the ones offered in the course were incredibly vague/general and not helpful at all), then perhaps it would be easier to know what you truly need to understand. As it is, you're on your own. So good luck!
My biggest gripe with this component is that I tried to schedule two tutoring exams with my professor, a service that the course syllabus says is included with tuition. Both times, the professor cancelled with no offer to reschedule. So much for "teaching." I didn't receive a single minute of actual instruction during this course. For something that cost me over $2000, the only real benefit is the speed at which it moves. But it's frustrating to pay that much money to, in essence, teach myself information from a textbook I could have paid $100 for.
All of the professors were kind people, but I really encourage them to reexamine how this course is structured and how it functions (hey, that's what Anatomy & Physiology is all about). I did not have a positive experience and I truly hope that can change for other students in the future.

The professor was terrible, answered no emails, and did not even post a single lecture video. He instead posted supplemental videos from YouTube.

The study guide for the exams for A&P I and II are awful and not helpful in the least. This is essentially paying $2500 for a course where you're tested on the textbook, no recorded lectures just YouTube videos on select topics. Study guides just list the title of the textbook sections and it's just an awful experience. I was very disappointed with the quality.

4 stars for the convenience, but not great if you're taking more than one class, or you already work full-time. Very demanding, professors are just ok and not the best at communicating.

The course is well designed, and all materials were easy to access. It is a look of material to cover in a very short amount of time.

The courses I took were indeed a lot of work (they are fast paced and accelerated, as the name says!) but I felt that I got a lot out of course materials and assignments. Wouldn't recommend to those looking for an easy A, but if you're willing to put in the time and attention then you'll be getting the most out of your money.

I took this course from 06/10/2024 to 07/14/2024 and overall, it was a very negative experience. For the most part the course felt like a constant struggle. Since it was asynchronous all of the content was self-taught. I attempted to attend tutoring once but left having very little cleared up. Though I studied frequently and made sure to complete all my assignments, I did poorly on both exams. The content on the exams felt very "out of left field". Though I was confident in completing the homework at times the exams were always impossible. The only time I enjoyed was the organized structure. Each week it was very clear what chapters and videos to view along with what assignments to complete.

The course is faced paced and challenging but it’s what I expected from an accelerated course. The course fulfilled my prerequisites and I enjoyed that I had flexibility to complete the course online. The overall learning experience was straightforward and all the resources I needed to pass was provided.
