Unacceptably Poor Management and Customer Service
Not surprised to read the range of negative reviews on here. An absolute disgrace of a company. Fees higher than originally stated. We're paying for 'gardening maintenance' despite the lack of communal areas on the estate. Invoices not sent. Arrears letters sent out asking for payments that have been made. Slow/no response to complaints emails. When I reported the one issue with our road (streetlights are out leaving the road unsafe and dark at night) I waited for over 10 days for any sort of recognition of my report. Over two weeks later I finally got a response saying an engineer would be out the following day. That day has been and gone and the lights are still out. It's completely unacceptable and I feel trapped as there is no way to get out of paying the management fees to them and they show no sign of willingness or capacity to improve.
Worst Property Management company
Worst Property Management company i have ever come across, customer service non-existent only care about robbing people blind. Within 27 days our half yearly fee of £62 was inflated to over £500 withing the period. I paid the fee and a small late payment charge immediately but am now being chased for solicitors charges which we are refusing to pay.

Unprofessional & incompetent
Never come across such an unprofessional company before. They supposedly manage our estate but charge more on their fees than they actually spend on maintenance. Constant errors and delays in the accounts. Presently not responding to requests for information to enable property sales to go ahead - been waiting over 6 weeks for a reply now. As others have said bordering on criminal and need to be stopped from trading with directors disqualified.

Absolutely awful experience dealing with this company. I have been billed multiple times for the same service even when payments have already been made. Absolutely shocking that a company with so many bad reviews is still allowed to operate.
They only care about money..
Wow, it says on a comment below “ Please note, invoices will not be issued by the contractor unless the maintenance work has taken place.” what a load of rubbish!!! We have been bill (no ones paying) now arrears letters sent out, but we haven’t had anyone on site for 6+ months. This company is an utter joke. And don’t reply saying email feedback.... we have multiple complaints ongoing on our site and you never reply to any. Even gone to ombudsman and ARMA too. Yet you still sent and demand money for works you haven’t done.

Absolute fast of a company - They don’t actually do anything you pay for. Only thing they ever manage to achieve is send you endless bills for work not completed and threaten legal action when you don’t pay for the service they haven’t delivered.

Made a “late payment” charge for an invoice that was not received, probably lost in the postal system or not sent at all.
After several communications they still refused to drop the £60 charge.
Just an awful company to deal with.
Avoid at all costs.
Communication was slow and blunt.

This appears to be a licence to print money for doing absolutely nothing - I didn’t think Bovis Homes would allow Shefford (BH) Management Ltd to be duped by such an invisible organisation - appears only function is to Bill unsuspecting Bovis customers for doing nothing

The worst company I’ve ever had to work with! I’m a leaseholder in a block Debbie from SDL was supposed to be looking after. We have had no services for years the garden is overgrown, the communal areas haven’t been touched and we still get threatening letters asking for payment for services that never happened. Debbie just says the services did happen and and that the plants have only had one month of growth which is utter nonsense. They are lazy and just seem to be taking money with no services offered. The building is now deteriorating rapidly. Steer well clear of this company being your service manager. Especially Debbie! AND do not fall for their nonsense comments below acting surprised and pretending they will take care of the matter. Believe me I have sent hundreds of emails and nothing happens! It’s their way of pretending they care and are doing something for prospective victims. Avoid them.

POOR ADMIN and SERVICE
We received a Ground Rent Demand, this company should have been collecting it on a regular basis, but no. Now they want payment for the period 1st July 2018 to 31st December 2020! Termed a Demand when they have been so poor in their administration practices. Being diligent myself I tried to pay monies to them, given the account details etc, only to find that whilst the account exists my bank cannot verify the account name, very fishy if you ask me! plus very POOR admin and SERVICE.

SDL BIgwood extortionists!!! Steer clear
I would give zero stafs but its not possible. This company have stolen money from us. SDL Bigwood have not given our property any services for 2 years, but have sent invoices, threatening letters and bills for £60 for every letter sent out. They have recently been fired by the landlord after dozens of complaints flooded in regarding their total incapability to manage anything. They are refusing to reimburse ius of the money they owe us. Do not allow this company to manage your building it will cost you thousands.

Awful!
If i could rate 0 i would. This company are who we pay our properties service charge to. They never do any works to the property. Ignore any correspondence we send them and are in total breach of contract yet they dont appear bothered. I wish we could change our provider but unfortunately we cant as they are selected for our building of flats! DO NOT USE. AWFUL SERVICE!

Rip off fees
Rip off fees. £366 for a certificate of compliance just to allow me to remortgage and transfer title to my partner. No contact either, they respond to some people on twitter but not others. I don't look forward to dealing with this company once my new build estate is complete. It is negligent of Bovis homes to appoint such a company with such a poor reputation. They also seem to change their name to hide from bad reputation online.

Unacceptable customer service !
I had credit in my account when a new management company took over from SDL back in September. They should have transferred my credit to the new company which they didn't. I have sent e-mails requeting to return my money and wrote a complain but they choose to remain silent. They give me no other option to claim via a small claims court !

I agree with the previous reviewer-I have also had a number of properties and dealt with a few managing agents and in my view SDL is by far the worst. Roofing has been leaking for some time and they have done nothing to fix it.
