Wyman did a good job

Wyman did a good job, but scheduling by the service provider (Sears) resulted in us waiting over 2 weeks for him to finally show up. Sears needs to review their service schedule process.

Sears Home Services: A Warning to Anyone Considering Their Appliance Contracts
I’ve been a loyal Sears Home Services customer for years. Every time a contract expired, I renewed it faithfully, trusting that my appliances were protected. For a long time, nothing went wrong — and maybe that’s why I didn’t see the cracks in their system.
When my dishwasher finally failed, everything fell apart.
Over months, Sears sent the same technician repeatedly, despite my explicit requests for someone else. The dishwasher received multiple motors, panels, and “repairs,” none of which fixed the problem. The machine still wouldn’t drain, cycles wouldn’t run, and at one point the technician suggested I “take a video” of the inside of a running dishwasher — a completely absurd request.
The situation escalated until the dishwasher began filling with water nonstop, refusing to shut off unless I turned off the water to the entire house. I had to empty the machine every few hours, including through the night. My kitchen mats are soaked, and water has seeped under my old built in farm cabinets.
Throughout all of this, Sears kept insisting the machine would only be replaced if the technician declared it “unrepairable.” The technician insisted Sears “doesn’t replace appliances,” contradicting what the contract department told me every time I called. he walked out angry, and Sears offered only a partial refund for the 3 year contract I paid for.
I’ve paid Sears for years believing I was protecting my appliances. When something finally went seriously wrong, they failed completely. Had I never paid for their contracts, I could have replaced all my appliances outright.
If you’re considering Sears Home Services, please learn from my experience. Their “protection” is not protection at all.

ZERO STARS NOT EVEN 1 ZERO

ZERO STARS NOT EVEN 1 ZERO

Technician showed up asked where the ice maker is. So I told him its in the freezer. He then asked where the new one is. We told him he was here to check why it makes no ice and fix it. He then told us that we will need to have another company come check it out. That sears repair the company that the warranty company sent out does Not diagnose they only replace parts. And if I want it fixed to have warranty company have another company diagnose it.

Johnny was absolutely awesome

Johnny was absolutely awesome. Always has been! He has been to my house several times for different things and has done very well. As with him being a mentor and training someone he is probably one of the best teachers I have seen. Aside from passing his knowledge on to his coworker he also showed that he was willing to listen and have conversations to improve his own knowledge with the experiences that his coworker also had.

To Whom It May Concern,

To Whom It May Concern,

My overall experience with Sears Home Repair was well below my expectations. Although the repair was ultimately completed, the process was unnecessarily drawn out, stressful, and far more complicated than I would expect from a large, reputable company.

After the initial technician diagnosed the problem, my insurance company promptly approved and ordered the necessary part. What should have been a straightforward repair instead became a series of delays, scheduling errors, and communication breakdowns.

A follow-up appointment was canceled because Sears mistakenly believed another diagnosis was needed, even though the issue had already been identified. An attempt was even made to diagnose the problem through a video call, which served no purpose. At another appointment, the technician arrived well outside the scheduled window without any notification that he was on his way.

When the repair was rescheduled again, the estimated arrival time on your website was inaccurate. I waited at home, only for the technician to arrive outside the stated window. His first question was, "Did the part arrive?" That question alone highlighted a significant breakdown in Sears' internal communication, as the part had been delivered weeks earlier.

Once he began the repair, he immediately confirmed that, in addition to the lid, a faulty hinge also needed to be replaced. He had identified this during his original visit, yet the hinge was never ordered. As a result, what should have been a simple repair required four separate service appointments.

Each appointment forced me to rearrange my work schedule and take additional time away from my job, causing unnecessary inconvenience and frustration.

The greatest disappointment throughout this experience was Sears' communication. Reaching a live representative was nearly impossible, with almost every interaction routed through automated systems and website updates that were frequently inaccurate.

Even on the day the repair was finally completed, I was instructed to monitor the technician's arrival through your website. At approximately 12:00 p.m., the site estimated his arrival at 12:28 p.m. Instead, I received a phone call from a neighbor telling me the technician was already at my home. Fortunately, I work nearby and was able to return before he left. Ironically, while he was already inside repairing the washing machine, the website continued displaying a future arrival time rather than indicating he had arrived. This defeats the very purpose of providing real-time updates.

I also want to be clear that my concerns are with Sears' repair process—not the technicians themselves.

The technician who initially diagnosed the problem, Ali Reza, and the technician who completed the repair, Jeffrey (Technician ID #0754168), were both outstanding. They were courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely apologetic for the inconvenience I experienced. Jeffrey completed the repair efficiently, and both technicians represented Sears exceptionally well. They deserve recognition for their professionalism.

My dissatisfaction lies with Sears' scheduling, internal communication, and customer service systems—not with the individuals who came to my home.

For your reference:

Service Order #13928883 (July 15, 2026)
Final Repair Service #000708413928883

I sincerely hope Sears takes these concerns seriously and makes meaningful improvements to its communication, scheduling accuracy, and customer support. While technology can certainly improve efficiency, it should never replace clear, accurate, and accessible communication with customers. Unfortunately, in this case, it added unnecessary frustration to what should have been a much simpler repair experience.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Frustrating communication

Frustrating communication, saved only by an excellent technician

I want to share my experience with Sears' home appliance warranty service, because it was a mix of real frustration and one bright spot.

A technician first came out on the 29th and ordered parts for our refrigerator after diagnosing a bad compressor. From there, things fell apart on the communication side. I could not get through to a real person at Sears or the home warranty department — every channel routed me to an AI chatbot with no way to reach a human. It took nearly four weeks for the parts to arrive.

When the parts finally came in, the service technician, Harold, discovered the parts that had been ordered were for the freezer, not the refrigerator — the actual source of the original problem. In the meantime, we lost hundreds of dollars in spoiled food and ice because we were without a working refrigerator for almost a month.

The one saving grace was Harold. He quickly identified the real issue, sourced what was actually needed, and fixed the refrigerator on the spot — it turned out to only need the coils cleaned and a relay part replaced. His knowledge and follow-through were the only reason this got resolved.

Bottom line: Harold deserves every bit of praise for his professionalism and skill. But Sears' inability to connect customers with an actual human being for scheduling and parts issues is unacceptable, and it turned a simple repair into a month-long ordeal.

Denied Repair.

Mohammad and Sears have failed to repair my air conditioner even though I have a Sears Protect Home Warranty. The blower motor is not working and needs to be replaced. Mohammad identified the problem as a pre-existing condition and the repair would not be covered under the plan. I have contacted Sears seven times and have yet to speak to anyone that can assist me. I expect Sears to honor their warranty plan that I have been paying for and repair my air conditioner. The home warranty was purchased on 5-15-26. My air conditioner stopped working on 6-23-26, 39 days after I enrolled in the warranty plan, and I made a repair appointment online the same day. I would like to speak to someone from Sears before I take legal action.
