SEAT Recall do not provide a courtesy car when its their issue

Received a recall letter for my SEAT ATECA due to brake software that needs updating. The local dealer needs the car for the day to resolve but want to charge me £25 to lease a vehicle from them. Their complaints department is a joke and the teams of people that I was banded around with to chat to about this were not helpful or downright rude.

Seat UK Disgraceful service

Seat customer service also customer liaison manager are rubbish, I have been lied to and totally fleeced by Seat,
CEO Wayne Griffiths
Director Richard Harrison do not respond to customer emails. Such poor service. Never again will I step foot in a Seat Garage. They are just as useless as the above.
Well I will keep informing other customers of your poor service.
And now work with Ombudsman and solicitors. Sharon Simpson

0 stars is too much

I actually wrote a review for Volkswagen Financial Services as it got switched between the two, but the same review applies below:

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Worst service experienced with any company ever.
My experience for the following has been going on since I purchased the car back in 2022, and is still very much occurring to this day.
I frankly can not be bothered to type the entirety of the disaster that is Seat Financial Services, but here are just some of the highlights:

My car not being registered on any system with any body….not even in their own systems. Meaning I couldn’t proceed with my insurance, I couldn’t tax my car, I couldn’t pay for parking anywhere etc. it was not possible to drive and just had to sit at home for 5 weeks before it was registered after chasing multiple times each week and being reassured that it would be done ‘soon’.

I wanted to cancel my financial agreement, (which I was in my legal rights to do so as it was within the 14 days time frame of receiving my car) as it had been delayed for almost 1 year and my financial situation had changed. But because it wasn’t registered (see above!) I wasn’t able to cancel the agreement.
They then proceeded to take money out of my account even before it was registered! I have still not received this refund.

After all this, with multiple calls and emails with different people back and forth, I then get told that it is entirely there fault and it should have been logged but ‘wasn’t done properly for some reason’. They then proceed to offer me an Amazon voucher as a ‘gesture of good will’ for less than the money they took in the first place without consent.

And not to mention they ignored my email for a Subject Access Request for over 2 months and being asked multiple times to provide one, to then finally send it to me but with it password protected and then I had to wait even longer to be able to access them.

These are just some of many reasons why they are the worst company I have ever had to deal with, especially when such a large some of money is involved.

The ombudsman has been notified and I hope for every customers sake that something comes from it because Seat Financial Services are absolutely awful in every sense of the word.

Awful service bodywork issues

Appalling service when it comes to issues, claim process and local dealership not being bothered to support my claim and wanting to bounce it back to original dealership...

A 2021 Seat Leon FR that I brought in 2022, a car that I hadn't even owned for a year when the issues began

In an approved seat bodyshop garage for a authorised door repair on 3rd April and on Thursday 6th april I received a call from the garage advising as they were completing the repairs when going to clean the car, a strip of paint on the front bumper driver side near the registration plate had come off completely after installing the new door and ahead of polishing the vehicle...As well as this there appears to be a cracked headlamp which the garage has indicated there is no way that has been hit to cause the internal crack. The bodyshop said both issues should be warrentable and any work to be carrier out at no cost to me.

Told initially by dealership warrenty manager that a previous repair had been done but no proof to back this outrageous claim up.

10 weeks on after bounced back and forth with seat and the bodyshop and been told due to external influences its not warrentable the paint delamination
Will be presuming il have the same "response" when it comes to the headlamp. Its's clear that Seat does not honour warranty on issues or provide vehicles fit for purpose/with paintwork that should last, explains all the other cases I hear and see about Seats paint work and other customers experiencing similar issues of delamination on the MK4 Models.

One star of the show..

Had a few dealings with the Ipswich branch of SEAT on Goddard road, to what has been very stressful, atlast we came across Karl/Carl who we wish would have dealt with our situation in the first place, he seems like the only one to get something done and complete!

You are an absolute credit to SEAT, your business would have a 5 star rating if everyone acted in the same manner and professionalism

I recently bought a brand new Seat Arona. Contacting Twickenham branch on Saturday and receiving my car on Thursday. To my great surprise Emmanuel has personally delivered my car. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with him. Always helpful, friendly and going an extra mile to make sure I understand and receive what need.
I have already recommended Seat to 2 of my friends looking to buy a car. I had an opportunity to visit few different car dealers and hands down Seat beat them all by their amazing customer service. Thank you Emmanuel. I bought this car thanks to you!

Great Car, Crappy Customer Service!!

I have a 2020 Ateca, on a 3 yr contract hire from SEAT Portsmouth. Firstly, the car itself is great, iv not had any issues with it, she is great up and down the motorway to work and is big enough for us even with a huge dog in the boot, this alone is is why this review has a 3* rather than a 1*!

The customer service was appalling from the get go so i should of known it wouldn't get any better, i had issues picking the car up on the agreed day, with so many excuses and delays, finally got it at after 6 on the agreed day, it was an incredibly stressful day with no apology from SEAT at all.

Im not going into the whole services and general maintenance issues i have had with SEAT Portsmouth, i could write a book on the issues i have had over the last 3 years, ignorance, rudeness and plain out lying to name but a few.

Fast forward 3 yrs and my new contract car, a VW this time, is taking longer than anticipated due to the semi-conductor issue globally, via the dashboard and phone it was agreed to INFORMALLY ext for 6 months or until a delivery date is confirmed for the new car.

Skip on another couple of months and i finally get confirmation from VW that my new car has landed in the UK and will be ready for collection first week in March. Onto SEAT to arrange a hand over and collection of my car, to be told that it wasn't an INFORMAL agreement is was FORMAL and that it was due to expire until June, when i advised it was all approved and agreed by VWFS, was told to 'go back to them and sort it as there is nothing showing this on their Dashboard so there was nothing they could do'

Honestly, im not sure why i am surprised, the whole 'Customer Care' thing seems to have been lost on SEAT, so im now sat waiting for VWFS to come back to me as SEAT, one of their subsidiaries, cant be bothered to do their jobs and arrange the collection of one of their cars for their customer.

Such a shame because i would have had another Ateca in a heartbeat but i just cant deal with the lack of customer service/care you receive.

I think Seat are aware the cars sat nav has problems. Bad ones

I guess the first issue was when my car suggested I had tens of yards to the junction when I was there.
Several times it misses the junction instructing me my turn is further down the road.
When having my phones Satnav connected through and I go through a week signal the cars sat nav takes priority and although I purchased the new over 2 years ago I am not allowed that wifi signal password. Cannot revert back to my own wifi whilst moving.
On voice control I requested to navigate to Taylor’s of R…. Satnav said it couldn't navigate to Taylor Swift…(I wish) I share the car with my wife but the Seat dealer has not been able to get both of us as Prime users.
They have been waiting months for a solution to my issues.
I think it could be dangerous.

Poor experience to sort replacement key for Seat Leon

Spoke to SEAT UK over the phone before Christmas regarding getting a second key cut/coded. Spoke to Suly, who did try his best in getting a the price from SEAT Newport, but like me later on, he simply could not get a response. In the end he spoke to them them via email and obtained a quote for £386 as the final cost for key/coding.
When I spoke to SEAT Newport to book the date in they told me it would £495.
I told them I had an email from SEAT which said £386, they didn't care or acknowledge my point, basically said it is a pain of a job and they got the desired result when I gave up. Certainly not a slick service! Hard work.

Brilliant Service

The guys at SEAT have been amazing. My dad was given a loan car for 24 hours whilst his car was serviced. Within that 24 hour period, my dad was rushed into hospital.
I called them to explain and asked if they wanted me to drive the hire car back to them and collect his. They said no, as a tyre on our car was ordered, and needed to be replaced first. They said though that they would send someone to collect the hire car, which got collected yesterday. Not only did they do this, they arranged for my Dad’s car to be driven back to us today. It has taken so much stress out of an already stressful time - thank you so much! I haven’t got anyone’s names unfortunately but it’s anyone who dealt with Mr Downs’ red SEAT Ateca.

Seat completely failed me

Seat completely failed me. They have no dealers capable of repairing a car anywhere in East London. Six weeks without a car, twice repaired but the fault came straight back. No availability for repair without the car being towed to a dealer. Central customer service called me just to explain that the dealer would be able to return my car to me... So I had to go on a 4 hour round trip to collect it... It had been towed to the only dealer willing to take it a million miles away.

SEAT Customer Service rubbish

My wife is disabled. She has a damaged spine that makes it extremely painful to turn around. That was why it was imperative to purchase a car with a reversing camera. A SEAT Leon First Edition was purchased from Hatfield SEAT in March 2021, supposedly with a 36 month warranty. 6 months ago the reversing camera failed and the car was booked in to Citygate Watford. There was a 2 week delay before Citygate could take the car in for examination. They kept the car for 2 days before declaring that the camera was faulty. They stated that they didn’t have a replacement camera and had no idea when a replacement would become available.
We waited 3 months and then had a call to say that a camera was in stock. After the now expected 2 week delay in booking the car in for rectification, we arrived at Citygate to be told that they had no idea why we were called as they certainly did not have a camera.
We have waited a further 3 months and despite speaking with Citygate Watford’s Service Manager and Oliver Mitchell (SEAT Customer Service Manager), who is an habitual liar and has yet to phone back when promised, we are no further forward).
A couple of months ago the engine warning light came on and we had another visit to Citygate Watford. They had the car for another 2 days and came to the conclusion that the warning was related to the failed camera which of course could not be repaired.
I requested from Oliver Mitchel that Citygate Watford confirm in writing that driving with the warning light lit would not compromise the warranty. The have now refused.
My wife is now the proud owner of a SEAT Leon that can’t be driven and can't be repaired.

DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSION!

Dg70ect . Oh dear Seat / Vwfs. You’ve lost my custom forever.

Dg70ect
Quite a shame that after 2 years and 34000 miles in your top of the range seat Cupra you have lost me as a customer forever due to the most unfair and unreasonable antics at the end of my lease agreement. Seat / vwfs are appalling. My step son had problems as well with seat/vw so thank you for your experience with a great car. Great shame I will NEVER EVER use Seat or a Vw product for the rest of my days. Even if it costs me more money I won’t consider your products.

Cupra Born flat tyre

Cupra Born flat tyre. No jack or puncture repair kit. Claimed that the tyres are 'self-sealing' but I had a puncture and they are not self-sealing. Took this up with Seat UK Customer relations who are still claiming that the tyres are self-sealing. Seat UK seems a waste of space. My advice is to buy your own puncture repair kit. Astonishing for a near £40k car
