DON'T BUY A SEAT

I received my brand new Seat Ateca in March. I have experienced multiple issues with the car to the point I got rid of it after 6 months ownership. I have listed the faults below:-
- Glitches with the 360 degree camera which the dealer could not fix.
-Issues with the SEAT Connect App and the software on the infotainment system in general.
-The gears (manual) were extremely tight I reported this and was told it was because its new. Sometimes I had to force it into 1st gear.
- When I turned the AC/ heater to off it didn't actually turn off just blew out very hot air which probably explains the very poor MPG.
-The glove box wouldn't stay closed.
-The most dangerous and most frightening issue was that it would occasionally lose power at a junction/traffic lights/ roundabout and I couldn't get the car to move. I would have to put my hazards on and turn the entire car off and start again to be able to move off. This was incredibly nerve wracking in busy traffic.
None of the above issues came up on diagnostics and SEAT nor the dealer would attempt any repairs without evidence. Some of the faults were almost impossible to catch in a video. The only thing I was continually offered was software updates that didn't work. My requests for compensation were ignored and SEAT never contacted me when they said they would. I became so nervous about driving this car I cut my losses and part exchanged it. I lost alot of money on it and the dealer I sold too said they were having alot of people selling these cars on due to the issues above so they are losing value. A quick search on various forums and you will see that I am not alone in my experience. These issues are plaguing the brand and all models that have come out of a factory in the last 1-2yrs. My advice is avoid SEAT until they sort their cars out. I certainly won't be buying one again. 1st and last SEAT I will ever own.

I purchased a new Seat Ibiza

I purchased a new Seat Ibiza, January 2021, from Bristol Street Motors Seat Derby, (now called Vertu Motors), and to date the vehicle has broken down 9 times. I tried to get a refund from Vertu after the 4th breakdown but they said a full refund could only be given in the first 30 days. I spoke to a Jason Hurt at Vertu Derby and he was very offhand and quite rude. They offered me a refund of over £2000 less than the price I paid for the car and I had to drive the vehicle back to Derby a distance of about 96 miles. As second hand Ibiza's with double the mileage, my car had 2,400, and a year older were for sale online for over £1,000 more I refused his offer. I referred the matter to Seat UK and the first customer care person I spoke to Raheel, suggested I try and sell the car to the dealership where my vehicle was being repaired. I complained again to Seat UK after the 9th breakdown and was bounced around from department to department and in the end got no joy. I am now going to contact the Motor Ombudsman to take the matter further. I may have been unlucky with my car but on reading sites like Trustpilot I see Seat has a bad reliability record and their aftersales leaves a lot to be desired.

SEAT SALES CHESTERFIELD ONLY NOT THE…

SEAT SALES CHESTERFIELD
ONLY NOT THE SERVICE CENTRE as there isn't a -10 star

This review is for the Seat sales team in Chesterfield
( Brimington Road North ) AND NOT THE SERVICE CENTRE OR CAR that will follow in a 2nd review

The guys at the seat store where I got my car from have been really good.

I need to give a special shout out to Elliot who has been absolute amazing with everything from start unto now, When ever I have asked a question or needed some information he has sorted it, If he wasn't sure he was totally honest and said.. Which is refreshing because some people try to just fob you off with answers but not him , He would go and find out and let me know be it via email or phone call.

He is a credit to the store, very polite and respectful

Also a shout out to Simon who kept up great communication throughout the finance process ( Im big on communication as used to be a manager Communication is key when dealing with customers)

Also Jo, Ant and Lee for helping with any questions I had if Elliot wasn't in

Ive recently had an issue with the car and the sales team has been all over it to get it sorted HOWEVER THE SERVICE CENTRE ............. like I siad NO -10 star

Large service of Seat Ibiza

I had my Seat Ibiza serviced today at the local Seat dealer at Scorrier, Redruth Cornwall. The treatment I got was exceptional. All the staff were attentive and friendly and I was kept up to date with videos etc of the car. This is an example of what we want all garages to be. Welldone to all of you

Overall disappointed

Overall disappointed. £24,000 used car purchase. The only good thing initially about my experience was my sales guy Jack. As for the rest, well simply a joke.
Firstly Jack is the newest sales representative. The interference of the other sales colleagues initially completely put me off purchasing. Telling me how I wouldn’t find a better deal or car anywhere else. Putting a kind of fear into me that I wouldn’t get a good car elsewhere. Boasting 150 point inspection (I had recently made a purchase elsewhere that provided a 300 point inspection). I might add that they would not discuss or disclose this report to me at all. At my other recent purchase they were more than happy to give me full details of report and fully discuss any repair and replaced parts.
Car was over priced in my opinion but I was assured car was “Seat amazing quality”. Overall the car is admittedly good (but only having 17000 miles on it’s going to be).
I had to replace a tyre after 2000 miles. When I questioned Seat about wether any tyres had to be changed (again asking to see the inspection report) I was fobbed off. Told that “I think so yes”. I asked them to check the report which wasn’t done. Response was “I’m sure I remember the repair guy saying one was replaced” and “That all tyres were above their Seat requirements”. 3 tyres on the car were perfect around 6mm. But one after 2000 miles was below 2mm with uneven wear. The tyre in question was a different tyre to the other tyres on the car. I “suspect” that this is the tyre that was changed and replaced with a part worn? This tyre was also on the front of the car (a high performance Cupra) totally not the done thing in my opinion.
I always replace my tyres as pairs ESPECIALLY on the front and ESPECIALLY on a high performance vehicle! I highlighted all this to Seat. They made no offer to change the tyre.
Also since purchase the lacquer on the wheels has been flaking off and are now in need of refurbishment, to date now I have covered 3600 miles.
I had tried my luck on getting some sort of discount, as you do. They wouldn’t budge. So I asked cheekily if I could get a tank of fuel at least. No was the answer.
I noticed a mileage difference when completing purchase so enquired if any other test drive had been completed after mine. The answer was no. When I test drove the car I returned it with the fuel range at 90miles. When I collected the car the fuel range was 25miles and the car had an additional 17miles on the clock. Seems like someone took a liberty in between me leaving the deposit and collecting the vehicle. I’m not stupid! Did nobody thing I’d notice? Must be the done thing here. Take it out for a good old tear around before you collect it.
You let yourselves down or stupid things Seat.
I had a very bad experience with this garage around 14 years ago and vowed never to take my business there again. Seems like nothing has changed. I should of stuck to my self promise and saved myself a whole load of unwanted stress, frustration upset and anxiety.
I will certainly at this stage not be taking the car to Coventry Seat for service MOT or repair. I will travel to an alternate Seat out of principle.
The 1 star of this review is for Jack.
If they had at least changed the tyre this review would of be different.

Just bought my second SEAT Arona from SNOWS Poole, the experience was faultless from start to finish. The sales team of Simon and James were helpful and courteous and kept me up to date with progress and when I picked the car up made the whole experience smooth and pleasing. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

Buyer Beware Seat Approved Used Cars

All it’s stresses and anxieties I have been working as a Key Worker through this pandemic for our Local Government Authority with a shielding, vulnerable partner. Thought we had got there but have found myself stressed again and with sleepless nights. What kept me going is looking forward to treating myself when I could to a new car. Found my ideal car, condition report advised of 1 single stone chip and 2 damaged Front Alloy Wheels (Alloys were repaired for me). Delighted, except for it being over 600 miles away. Anyways, bought and paid online for the car and made a Covid Click & Collect Appointment. Drove all though the night and collected the car in the rain with the car soaking wet. Drove back home. Once home it was apparent that all 4 corners of the car have been accident damaged with very poor quality repairs including both Front Wings and Bonnet. Some damage hasn’t even been repaired, just painted over. The Front wheels that were repaired are not even the same colour as the rears and are both leaking air. I have been called a Liar by Mr Colin Snook that the car was wet on collection, even though I have the video evidence. I suspect that the car was not given a Sales Check, Coolant Level on minimum, Screenwash empty, both Key Batteries flat... Not what I expect from a car with 15k miles on it and an “Approved Used Car”. Approved by who? Do not get me started on Mr Snook’s creative accounting and Vat Writebacks, in my naivety I had no idea what was happening but has the potential to cost me £100’s. Would not have been a problem if the car was as promised. I have lost all faith in the Seat Approved Used Car Scheme. This is my 4th Seat in the last 7 years. **Update, on my last review White Dove stated that we agreed a price reduction on my visit. Funny that! I paid 2 or 3 days before I visited and my Emails show me informing of the damage 1 or 2 days after. Not surprisingly I was never offered a price reduction. Maybe trying to make themselves look better and more honest than they actually are** Really does show/prove the liars that White Dove are! 1. OSF Bumper Smart Repair poor quality 2. Front Spoiler covered in overspray 3. NSF Wing paint burnt through after respray and laquered over 4. Bonnet edge not masked correctly 5. NSF Bumper not enough paint used in smart repair and undercoat showing through 6. NSR Bumper Wheel Arch deformed 7. NSR Bumper cracked and painted over trying to hide without repairing 8. Rear Bumper paint not blended in 9. OSR Bumper paint cracked 10. OSR Bumper dent 11. Bonnet and both Front Wings been poorly machine polished after repair with loads of overspray. So overview on my Seat Approved Used car by Seat. Accident damage to front with front wing and bonnet being repaired. Impact to rear causing the rear bumper to be forced forward into the bumper beam causing the bumper to be pierced, deforming the rear wheel arch and cracking the paint. Several other poorly executed repairs. I should be clear, I have been offered a refund by White Dove but this would also end up costing me hundreds, possibly over £1000 to accept this and would give fraudsters the message that it is okay to treat customers this way. I have taken the opportunity to have 2 valuations on my car. I would expect an Approved Used Car from Seat to be classed as good condition. No 1 expected valuation £10800, actual £9425 (-£1375) No 2 expected valuation £11100, actual £9775 (-£1325). So, I have lost £1300 just by buying a car from White Dove. I have also included the quotation for repairs from my nearest Seat Approved Bodyshop. They have described the repairs as "accident damage repairs" and have put the cost of repairs at £2041. In this whole sad, sorry situation White Dove Seat have left me virtually carless with a disabled partner. Yes, I have the car in my possession but until such a time as it is all sorted I do not feel that the car is my own nor do I feel that I am able to put any more miles on the car than is absolutely necessary. Should never have bought from White Dove Garages, Cardiff

SEAT Leon Cupra - 'death pact' security system.

SEAT Leon Cupra - 'death pact' security system.

A Seat Leon Cupra key with little charge will still let you into the car, ( and onward to your journey destination) however when the keys battery dies, there is a good chance so will you !

At your next service, INSIST the dealer replaces the batteries in both Key sets. Don't let them fob you off with a, they have 'tested' fine ...

I didn't know the battery was 'flat,' & the car let me in, it locked, but wouldn't start as it couldn't detect the key ... then it wouldn't allow central locking to release, and following the instructions to hold the key to where a traditionally ignition switch would be, that also failed to work.

On a hot day parked with the car in full sun, I was basically locked in & f#cked until help arrived.

My wife was eventually able to deliver the spare key.

Customer 'lack of' support, advise under those circumstances you need somehow, to get into the boot to locate a manual release there, so you could climb out.

REALLY unimpressed with the Cupra's badly developed security, this is the second serious fault I've come across.

There really needs to be a vehicle recall - there won't; you can tell by talking to the 'lack of' customer support people.

Makes the next vehicle purchase easier - it won't be a Seat Cupra ...

Don't bother with Seat Slough

Don't bother with Seat Slough; have just been informed that if I need to take my Seat Arona car (which I do) to a Seat repairs garage the nearest to me is Sidcup!!! I live in central London and would have to go through the Blackwall Tunnel to get there - did I know this before buying the car - no of course not; would I have bought the car - no of course not. How can Seat possibly expect people to travel all that distance for a small repair? Such bad treatment.

Excellent experience - Oldham branch

Excellent service from the sales team today (December)

Eventually went back in May, having spoken with the superb Craig previously, today I dealt with Colby who was fantastic from start to finish. He explained everything very well and tailored a deal to suit my numbers/budget whilst ensuring I got exactly what I wanted. Very happy customer.

Special nod to the number cruncher Adam who I was bartering with to get a substantial discount.

You are all a credit to the industry without being pushy. Would recommend 10/10.

Nice vehicle to drive, but major issues

Nice vehicle to drive(Terraco Excellence) but so many un repairable faults with technology. Sat nav unlikely to find way out of paper bag. Whilst driving screen rotates, gives vocal instruction to turn left, when screen shows correctly it is right. Yesterday on trip from south it locked on Oxford centre, which we did not visit, but for 2 hours it instructed to leave city via…. But we on M40 north. Also beeping for 2 hrs informing ravelling over 20 mph speed limit yet we on motorway, could not stop it. Reversing camera works when it feels like it. Seat claim all VW range have same issues but unable to cure or stop SOS warning messages across speedo screen. VW, SkodaSeat cars many have same, present, incurable issues. I have had car 13 months, with issues since new, and still waiting for resolution. Never again. Also cuts out at junctions and traffic lights, lacks power at times to pull away. Awful, sadly

Dealership service used to mean something.

I bought a Seat Leon from a Seat dealership, and for the first couple of years it was a good car. Then I the mistake of allowing the same dealership to change the cam belt, water pump and give a service. The car wasn't right from the first moment I collected it. The performance wasn't the same, in fact it was sluggish. It wasn't long before it broke down because the egr valve failed. It failed because the software within the cars ecu was changed. It didn't just cause the egr to fail, it also caused the car to returning 78mpg down to 52mpg on motorways and from 64mpg down to 46mpg city driving. It also required my having to make an unnecessary 30mile journeys every 140miles so the dpf filter could clear. The car was not fuel efficient, it was not kind to the environment, but worst of all, it was bad for people's health. Buying a Seat car, especially if has full dealership service history will turn into the car you wish you'd never bought.

Seat service plan.

Beware! the Seat service plan is a non refundable and non transferable product. If you sell your vehicle before the end of it's plan that's tough you've lost out. Just spent 15mins on the phone trying reason with customer services to no avail. Bad show Seat loyalty to the brand count's for nothing even if you have ordered a new vehicle, shocking experience. I shall think twice before taking out a further plan.
