Justine knowledge was sublime and so enthusiastic we had such a great foraging experience and then cooking around the campfire really made this a special event. Highly recommend it.

Special adventures in London and beyond

Brilliant venue and inspired choice of films…plus the drinks service was a nice bonus. Had the excellent Chicken curry on offer outside in the break, washed down with a chilled beer. Chatted amongst the big firebowls - alight to take the chill off the evening. Nothing like a fire to warm the hands and calm the soul.
Keep ‘em coming please…
I have to say that we walked out of our afternoon woodland feast with a really good feeling and some new friends (swigging from a bottle of port if I recall correctly!) It was a wonderful setting and is genuinely a great experience.
My only criticism would be that (and I appreciate all the food is cooked with fire) every one of the 12 on my table agreed that the food was slightly too little and, very unfortunately, the cannon of lamb was served very raw..not rare, blue. Out of politeness, noone mentioned at the time and all sort of got on with eating it, which, for our expectations set by the very confident chef, was disappointing (it would definitely be sent back at a restaurant - and no, we aren't wimps, it really was just a mass of raw lamb in middle). We have, however, read reviews saying people have previously left stuffed and the food was excellent so maybe it matters which chef you get?
I will be recommeding this to friends but also then crossing my fingers that the food is better when they visit or I'd feel guilty if it wasn't for the cost.

I did Canoe Across Scotland with this company this summer, and the whole experience was amazing. There was prompt communication before the trip, and we had a lot of fun during the trip itself.

We were so lucky to have Tash and Mandy as our guides on Canoe Across Scotland, fun and engaging and never taking anything too seriously! Excellent navigators, cooks, fire-builders, canoeists in their own right and genuinely good people. They even made sure the sun shone, the locks were cold and clear and there weren’t too many midges. This is a great company who excel at communication and pitching everything at the right level for beginners and more advanced canoeists alike, thanks guys xx

Secret adventures is run by an inspired group of people with the simple idea of getting together and enjoying where you are and who you are with. I went to the pizza class in the woods and it felt like a holiday - being outdoors, being with a group of really interesting diverse fun individuals, learning a new skill from an expert, and ending with Marshmallows around a campfire. If you are nostalgic for college and school days and good old fashioned connection - join secret adventures.

I was lucky enough to join a Secret Adventures foraging experience near Goring and, wow, what a fantastic experience it was! We joined our extremely knowledgeable French guide for a walk through a beautiful forest, as she told us about the various uses of plants we came across. After 45 minutes of foraging in the forest, we ended up at a magical cabin in the woods, where we sat around a fire and made tea, hot chocolate and delicious focaccia bread from our foraged plants. We learnt about the uses, including medicinal, of various plants and listened to tales of adventure shared by our inspiring guide. This experience really reconnected me to nature and left me feeling rejuvenated. I can highly recommend!

I did the foraging experience near Reading. It was fantastic. Easy social distancing, very Covid safe. Loved learning about the forest plants and then baking our own bread with our finds. We made nettle pesto, tea and herby hot chocolate - it was all brill. Guide was lovely and really interesting.

Incredible event with some really cool acts and really well organised with social distancing and time slots for the food. It was really refreshing to be back at an event despite everything going on with Covid and it’s great to see organisers making them despite capacity constraints - It’s the second secret adventures I have been to (first since Covid) and they have both been brilliant!

The candlelit concert was so lovely, a welcome escape from pandemic London! I can highly recommend the mulled wine too!

Such a beautiful and atmospheric event! The artists were incredible, and the Indian street food was amazing. Felt completely safe too, with big gaps between seats. Will definitely go back on another night to see more acts!

We attended Secret Adventure’s Candlelit Concern last night and can’t speak more highly of the event. The ambience was perfect and it was great to finally see live music again. COVID-wise, everyone was distanced and things therefore felt safe. The food was amazing and drink service to your seats allowed people to stay distanced. A great event all round.

Hi Madoc,
It's was an amazing venue and atmospheric with the candles on the stage and instruments sitting posed to be played. It was my 1st year engagement anniversary and also first normal gig since lockdown. We both felt safe with the seating arrangement and liked the wine, music especially Joe Dolman we found him funny and like his music and the Young Waters act and the love story of Adam and Flora. We have already recommended this gig to our friends and have brought tickets as presents.
I would of liked to have another food option outside but the food did look and smell good.
Staff were all friendly and it was a cool location.
Warm regards
Tom & Adrien x
