Purchased a Groupon for my friends birthday. Tried a number of times to contact Segway events but no answer and no response. I did a google search and found the centre had permanently closed. After raising a case with Groupon, Segway events have refused me a refund. I at least got a credit from Groupon.

No working phone line.
No response to emails (despite advertising a 24hr working day response).
Do not buy a voucher for this company nor through activity superstore.
Dates in multiple locations but potentially only a couple of times a year in a specific location and be prepared for last minute cancellation with no means to contact the company.

Went for an hour long Segway rally in august and only actually spent half an hour on the segways as it took so long to get started. I emailed the company twice regarding this and have had no reply/apology. So I would not recommend this experience although we have had good experiences previously .

We were given a gift voucher for Segway Events for an anniversary present and have been trying to book a slot for months. You can’t get through to speak to anyone on their phone lines, you just get a recording. When we attempted to book a date online we select 15th July ant Bray but weren’t able to get confirmation of a time slot and to date haven’t had any confirmation of our booking. Time is now passing and our voucher will probably expire before we get to book. The company seems a complete farce and it’s very disappointing. I wonder if the company are even operating anymore. Does any one know?

Booked as a treat for my hubby and they cancelled the event two weeks beforehand (cancelled on 11th June, the event was supposed to be June 30th). They said they would refund me but still no sign of it and it's now July 12th...

Awful Experience. We arrived at the event at Bray lake to be told it had been cancelled. They offered another date which we accepted, then we received another email saying that was also cancelled. They refused to give us a refund and told us to contact Experience Days who were the portal it was booked on. Experience Days also refused us a refund. The whole thing is a rip off!

I wish I had seen these reviews earlier! The whole thing from start to finish has been an absolute shambles. I had a voucher and wanted to book extra 2 tickets. 4 people all together. I wanted a PM slot as we had to travel down to Battersea. A simple request I wanted to discuss with them to explain. They have disconnected their phones so can not call. They only deal via email. It took me ages to arrange then they gave me an AM time slot for 2 people. After about 50 emails they finally got it correct. Then the day before they cancelled and still awaiting a full refund a week later!!!

I'm disappointed to have to write this as previously had a very good experience at Preston Park.
We attended a Segway Adventure event at Harwood House, Leeds on 5th May 2024. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The training and team races were great and very similar to what we experienced at the previous event.
What let this occasion down terribly is the fact that the whole experience only lasted 45 minutes, as opposed to the 60 minutes it was supposed to. Also the tour of the grounds simply included a short ride around an open field lasting about 5 minutes. The tour at Preston Park must have lasted a good 20 minutes, was obviously much further in distance, took in different terrain and went up and down some (gradual) slopes. Shame as we had been looking forward to attending again.

Top marks from start to finish. Booked with voucher given to me as a gift. No hassle. Updated after booking with emails, all good. Event run exceptionally well, polite staff, lovely grounds (£4.00 extra to park though). Good tutorial and of on the Segways for fun. Ended with been shown all the photos they took and purchased a set of two prints, £20.00 of next event and an email with the entire set of photos. Very impressed and highly recommend this event to all.....make sure you are of the correct body weight to take part, they weigh you....it gave me the incentive to diet before hand. Thank you.

Sadly there is not a no star option here, I got a Groupon to book a Segway session for 2 people I have tried multiple times to confirm booking I sent but yet still not received confirmation (at this time there are 3 days until booking I requested) I contacted both booking and info emails but not received any reply of any kind I have contacted Groupon for a refund and will be letting everyone know not to use Segway Events.

I had been so looking forward to this and I was so disappointed. Firstly we were told to arrive half an hour before our slot start time to register etc yet no one spoke to us until after our start time so that was a wasted half an hour then the segways were disappointing as I could have walked quicker and probably have more of a thrill on a ride on lawnmower. The speed of these are more suited to kids and definitely not a thrill ride.

This is a warning to anyone thinking of making a booking with Segway events. Please read thoroughly through the terms and conditions before agreeing as after pages and pages, at the very end is the height and weight restrictions. For the consumer surely this is a very important factor, and should be at the top of the list, personally I think it is a bit of a con. I have seen children riding on segways smaller than our 9 year old twin grandsons and for a Christmas present last year purchased vouchers for them and their parents which they were very excited to receive. I received my voucher booking confirmation on 18th December 2020 which mentioned nothing regards restrictions, it was only when my daughter received notification 7 days before the actual event that these restrictions were mentioned. I have 2 very disappointed grandchildren and a loss of £97 and I would not wish anyone else to experience this.

Absolute scammers. I have been 40% overcharged by this company. I was reassured at the time of booking that a refund would be made to me once a copy of the activity voucher was provided. The voucher was provided on the same day yet the money still left my account. They are now refusing to refund me the money despite all evidence having been provided. Extremely poor customer service, they're so unhelpful and rude. Definitely avoid!

I booked over the phone as I wanted to be able to choose my own time and you don’t seem to be able to do this online. Attended a Segway event at Buckland park Lake and had a thrilling time. The staff were really friendly, our instructor was super funny and he made sure we were comfortable using our Segways. We had the ride of our lives. Would recommend.

Bit of trouble with the website meant I had to phone to book. There was a bit of trouble with that too but booked for an event eventually and was not disappointed. Top way to spend a few hours of your leisure time. Instructors and organisers were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic where we went (Bray). Would have got 5 stars if I hadn't had trouble getting booked in.

The event got cancelled a few times due to adverse weather and covid 19 but when we finally attended at pooley it was a great experience the instructors were great too giving everyone the chance to master the control at the start before going out on the rally to make it a more enjoyable experience

Not been able to book online, the website is broken and now it won't accept my voucher at all. The phone number online isn't being manned "due to covid" and now they won't respond to emails. They surely can't be that busy!

Recently tried to book an event online using my Buyagift voucher. Currently it wouldnt work and kept saying "try again later" had to contact them by email as phone lines are not manned due to covid. If you do ring up you get a recorded message and are charged premium rate! . I asked for an AM session and they booked an afternoon. I had to email them again for the 3rd time and they sent another booking with an afternoon session followed by an AM session. I then asked if I could add another person and asked if there was more than one session in the morning but they didn't answer my question and just said there was a slot available. The next day I got an email saying the event was cancelled, so four days there were removed from their website and they said I could rebook it . The next event in the same place is end of November . I have requested voucher to be cancelled.. they haven't replied yet. I had to book a day off work for this so its annoying. I was looking forward to this but now its left a bad experience for me . They probably didn't get enough people to attend event and camcelled as they didn't give a reason . AVOID

Unfortunately I’ve not yet been on this event yet but had many issues sorting it out. It’s now all booked in but I got my phone bill this morning and discovered that I’ve been billed nearly £6 for the phone call to make the booking
