Excellent customer service

When the car that I received did not have the proper features (due to an issue with the car broker rather than SelfDrive), Danish at SelfDrive customer service was extremely helpful in consistently following up and making sure the vehicle was replaced.

Great to know Selfdrive apps once I arrived to Qatar recently when I planned to get a Rental Car. Selfdrive very friendly user. Easy to deal, easy to extend, or easy to return. The rental rate also is very reasonable and worth value for money. The Selfdrive staff very helpful. Thank you Selfdrive. 👍👍👍

This is the worst car rental company I…

This is the worst car rental company I have ever been with! DO NOT RENT YOUR CAR WITH THEM! They have owed me a refund of 2000 dhs for 2 months and keep giving me additional charges without explaining what it’s for. You cannot reach them on the phone- you have to call atleast 10 times and they put the phone down on you. They promise call backs and never give. I have provided them with proof after proof that they owe me money and they are refusing to give it to me. They are stealing from people and are scammers!! Please do not rent your car with these people!

The worst rental company I have experienced in my life

Honestly, I cannot recommend this company at all. This has been, without question, the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. It genuinely felt like anything that could go wrong… did. And throughout all of it, there was zero accountability, zero communication, and definitely no apology.

Here’s a summary of what somehow managed to happen in just 5 weeks:

1. First delivery
Car arrived 2 hours late with absolutely no communication. Not even a courtesy message, just silence and me wondering if I’d imagined booking it.

2. Wrong spec car
The car didn’t have CarPlay or any navigation. I was offered a replacement, which sounded promising… until they completely ignored me when it came time to collect the car. Messages were read and ignored. It only moved forward after I threatened to cancel and request a refund, and even then it took 3 days to get a response.

3. Replacement car (somehow worse)
The “replacement” turned out to be a significantly worse car that smelled like it had been used as a smoking lounge. I then had to chase them repeatedly just to get the original spec car back, which, again, took 3 days.

4. Breakdown situation
The car then broke down. No replacement for 24 hours. When a car finally arrived, it was on empty fuel and (unsurprisingly at this point) didn’t have CarPlay either. The best part? I was charged a fuel fee for both the broken-down car and the empty replacement. At this stage I started to wonder if this was some kind of social experiment.

And, against my better judgement, I gave them one more chance…

5. Second rental (Mazda CX-5 2026 model)
I paid extra for the newer 2026 model. They were 7 hours late delivering it. Not a single proactive update. I had to chase them every hour just to get any information.

What eventually turned up? The older 2025 model.

That was the final straw. I cancelled immediately and went with another provider.

Final note:
The only thing this company seems to do efficiently is charge additional fees to your bank account the moment the rental ends. Everything else? Complete chaos.

Avoid. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration.

Rude experience and being told I am a liar.

Wanted to hire a car for long term while things are going on here as needed the flexibility. Agent was lovely. Car arrived and stinks of smoke. I have told them and said it needs to be replaced. Just had the rudest person call me and tell me it doesn't smell of smoke and I am making it up, he then went onto say, the scratch that I found when they delivered wasn't a scratch and I made that up too. Cannot believe that a company in Dubai can act this way to me.

Very very poor experience .

Very very poor experience .

Firstly I asked for a suv.. was given a slightly raised up hatchback that could not even fit a stroller in the car trunk. They refused to exchange / change the car. I completed my rental agreement regardless. I applied for my deposit back (supposed to be returned within 30 days). It is now pst day 60 and I have not received my deposit . I keep being told same lie everyday “we have authorised it but the delays are with the back, it is pending with bank”. Do not use this company

The worst company I ever rented from

The worst company I ever rented from. You pay less but you get absolutely screwed in every process. I’ve been waiting 4 months for my 2500 AED deposit to come back. The customer support will choose not reply to you based on how they feel. I’ve been chasing and chasing and chasing for 4 months, I’m exhausted. The most disgusting vile company and staff I ever dealt with. Stay well away from this company, there’s so many better options out there.

I have book my ride with them on 18 feb…

I have book my ride with them on 18 feb 2026 with hidden details of get my refund after 30
Days which we have been deposit 1000 AED.

We wait for them the whole month to get back our refund . Then finally the month complete we have submitted request for claim & then again 5 days past there is no solution for get back our refund . Very cheap service & very slow to answer on Time .the money was still with them from last 40
Days almost.

I highly never recommended anyone to book a ride through them they are fraud with the people & not get back to them even you request them for solution
