Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 47 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the pricing, often finding that the vouchers or discounted tickets ended up being more expensive than purchasing directly from the cinema, especially after additional fees and charges were applied. Customers also reported issues with the service, including problems with receiving codes, unhelpful support, and a general feeling that the service was pointless or even misleading. The website was also a source of frustration, with users encountering error messages and unclear information regarding fees. Conversely, a small portion of people were satisfied with the booking process and discounts, noting that they were able to save money on cinema tickets and that the voucher codes arrived instantly and worked without issues for some specific cinema chains.

I tried to use my voucher code via…

I tried to use my voucher code via Cineworld and the voucher was accepted but worth £0.00. I emailed service seats for a refund but not holding my breath. Waste of £15.52. I'm a blue light card holder and found discount vouchers through the website. PLEASE AVOID TOTAL SCAM STAY AWAY FROM SERVICE SEATS.

Brought some vouchers thinking this is going to end badly and it did. After buying g the vouchers they send you the terms and conditions. Can only be used at certain Odeon cinemas. After reading reviews and the trouble I have had I doubt that also. Awaiting a refund - doubt I will get one. Next on my trust pilot review is BLUE LIGHT for advertising this terrible company

Hesitant but Successful Purchase

I hesitantly used service seats to buy tickets for cineworld after reading the mixed reviews on this site - with a view to saving £15 on our tickets.

Whilst it was easy to buy the vouchers - it was difficult to understand what group my local cinema fell into and if school holidays fell into the off peak ticket definition. In the end I just took a gamble and selected what I thought was the most logical tickets.

Vouchers were delivered in seconds - but with no instructions on how to redeem. But once you added the vouchers on the Cineworld site (and didn’t select any tickets) it worked fine. We did still have to pay a £4.95 booking fee to Cineworld but we still saved £10.

Now I know the process I would use it again 🙂

Beware - not as advertised; misrepresented voucher value

Such a disappointment as this voucher buying service is published via the employer's discount schemes website, and shame I did not check the reviews prior to buying.

Just to be clear, this is what you get with ODEON.

Odeon sells a standard ticket for £8, standard+ ticket for £10.50 and the premier ticket for £11.50. With this voucher (after paying for £5 per voucher) the same standard ticket gets discounted to £1.50, standard+ to £3 and premier gets discounted to £4. So if you buy any tickets (irrespective of which category of seats) basically you get a discount of £2.50 per ticket, after odeon's booking fee of £1 per ticket (yes, each time the Odeon's booking engine does lot of hardwork to issue tickets, so they need to charge £1 per ticket!).... So the end discount you get is not anywhere close to what you bought for £5 as value...Not worth the hassle for this 'peanut skinning discount', where Serviceseats makes a profit as well. Also, in my opinion, the value of the voucher is misrepresented in the advert and the email that comes after purchase!. I will not buy again.

Good discount but flawed process

I bought these vouchers with some wariness given the poor reviews. But given some people had successes, and there would be a £10 discount, I thought it was worth a go. I made sure to read the small print (for example, the adult cinema ticket only applies to a 'group 2' cinema, and you need to check a list to see if yours is...)

You receive voucher codes a little later via email. While these were accepted by the Cineworld website, I then got an error message and couldn't proceed further despite multiple attempts. I emailed them but no reply as of mid afternoon the following day.

Fortunately I was passing the cinema the next day and they were able to scan the QR code and sort the tickets without any problems...

So it has worked, but the online process needs sorting out as it isn't fun buying a voucher that then doesn't get accepted.

Success after seeing bad reviews

I was hesitant after reading the reviews but had a friend who had used the service succesfully recently. You need to read all the information they give you but I've just booked two Imax tickets for £21.74 total, they would've been £16.99 each otherwise.

Absolute shame of a service

Absolute shame of a service. Site is always down and Vue cinema (Fulham Broadway )would not even let me show the hardcopy of card - representative at the cinema's attitude was also one of sheer dismissiveness and not wanting to help. Poor in every aspect!

I was apprehensive about using the site…

I was apprehensive about using the site as I haven’t used it before. However, my experience was ok. I ordered 4 Cineworld tickets to see Wicked. The vouchers were processed quickly and I used each voucher number to book directly on my chosen Cineworld site. The only extra charge was 0.95 pence booking fee per ticket, totalling £3.80. This is mandatory for every Cineworld online booking. I saved around a fiver overall by buying the reduced price tickets via Service seats. I would probably use again!

Use at cineworld booth

We used service seats at Cineworld to see Paddington in Peru via blue light code. Bought tickets in the cinema at a booth and reduced price from £16.99 each to under a fiver each. Nearly didn't try after reading the reviews but glad we did. Will use again.

Ordered and paid for vouchers

Ordered and paid for vouchers. Vouchers not received. Sent 4 emails querying where the vouchers were. Three days later still not reply to emails. Needed up paying full price at the cinema as no vouchers. Have contacted Barclaycard for a charge back as not reply from emails.

Bluelight Card discount offered for…

Bluelight Card discount offered for Odeon via Service Seats DO NOT DALL FOR THE SCAM!
Advertised 40% discount, paid for the vouchers codes only to be charged and additional £5 on the Odeon website! You end up paying more than if buying direct with Odeon!

Appalling customer service

I booked on their website, compared prices on the odeon website first and it was cheaper through them. Booked it and then when I got the voucher code on the odeon website it still charged me £6 per ticket to use the voucher!! Contacted their customer service team who were appalling and took ages to respond. Then said they couldn’t do anything about it since I’d already used the tickets!!

Missed Odeon tickets and will have to rebook

I booked Odeon tickets and had difficulty getting hold of the tickets. Tried several times and could not get access to them. I raised a complaint and they told me they had reactivated the tickets, but did not explain they would add a short expiry date. I went to use them and they had expired. Contacted service seat again and they had told me I have to book another set of tickets. I would be cautious with booking tickets with them.

This is a total rip off

This is a total rip off. Purchased 4 tickets for £36. Went to book them in odeon and they were charging another 24! This works out much dearer than what they should have been. Now to see if they will refund. I doubt it but I won't leave it drop. I hate being ripped off and I'm so careful. I trusted blue light to have good companies.

Wish I'd come here first

Wish I'd come here first! Just went to use my vouchers to find out it'll actually cost me more to use the vouchers to buy Odeon Luxe tickets than if I had just booked directly. Contacted them to ask for refund but don't hold out much hope! 😪

Update: Having contacted Blue Light several times via Instagram, Service Seats have finally got back to me and said they will issue me a refund in 6 days. I'll believe it when I see it back in my account!
