Bought a 3m Round Hurricane in Ecru for the upcoming spring/summer season for my garden. This parasol not only looks lovely but also seems very strong and sturdy, very happy with my purchase.

Just to say we are absolutely delighted with this parasol. It’s really excellent quality, works like a dream and its light weight means we can easily dismantle it and so on. The tilt and reverse tilt works like magic too – this means a 90 year old can easily operate it unassisted. We bought it for a new teak round bistro table 80cms diameter, which has a wooden parasol retainer built into the foot of the legs, so I was worried the table may tip - but no, it’s perfectly stable, even when tilted. The teak effect pole is also very realistic, to boot! Thank you!

I don’t often leave reviews but I was so impressed with the quality of the Bambrella Hurricane Side Wind parasol.
Being an engineer myself I can see the attention to detail that has gone into the design.
First class - product and service.

We have been looking for a cantilever type parasol for our garden for quite some time. As we live in a very windy spot on the coast in west Cornwall we needed something that was extremely strong and up to the task of withstanding prolonged gales. We have lost several parasols in the past and had almost given up looking until we found the Shadespecialists website and saw the wind tunnel tests. This immediately got our attention and after contacting the company we had a levante sidewind parasol delivered soon after. It has been more than satisfactory, standing up to very strong winds, easy to handle and looks great with the natural bamboo finish. A great eco alternative to hardwood we thought. Great service and prompt delivery with clear instructions on how to use it. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a parasol of this type.

In the summer, Shade Specialists supplied us with a 12 foot square parasol, a large granite base, and then lately a waterproof cover for it. It wasn't cheap, but we can see that is. The parasol (and its heavy granite base) is very well, and solidly, constructed and it's also very smart. It does just what we expected. With the coming winter, we needed a cover for it, and had expected it would be a real game to fit a cover as the whole parasol is about 10 feet tall. However the winter cover that Shade Specialists recently supplied to us is an equally ingenious arrangement which was a doddle to fit for someone well into their 70's.

Hired a 5 metre white parasol for my patio as I didn't want to setup a marque for my private event! Best idea I made! So cost effective and looked amazing. The team are so helpful and easy to work with from the customer care team who helped with my booking to the installation person Kevin.
Will 100% use this company again!!

I am amending my earlier review when I moaned that Shade Specialists are not at the Newdigate address on their website, which had led to a very irritating wild goose chase attempting to visit their premises during their 'opening hours'.

My one-star review drew an almost immediate response from the owner explaining that (i) they are not and never have been a 'shop', (ii) have just moved admin premises and (iii) that BT had cut off their lines in the process. The website is now being updated and Rob has been more than helpful in offering to arrange a visit to his warehouse to view the products I am looking to purchase. Credit where credit is due, Shade Specialists moved fast to put things right.

I recently purchased a Stellar Aries and it seems to have a well made structure and provides a generous shade in my garden. Though the base has wheels included, there was no need to move it around the patio due to its tilting mechanism, left – right and vertical. Delivered on time, and the young lady from the sales team was helpful and polite. I recommend Shade Specialists

We love our parasols! They look gorgeous, they do a great job to protect against rain and sun, and our Cafe customers love them!

I had a call within 24 hours from the owner of Shade Specialists who apologised sincerely for the service I'd experienced. Within 24 hours, I had the parts I needed and a new canopy, together will full fitting instructions

I couldn't have asked for a more helpful can-do approach, and am very grateful for his decisive intervention

I don’t really even know where to start with this review - the sorry saga of our experience with Shade Specialists over the last 4 months. Over 7 weeks after having returned the parasol, we have STILL not been refunded our £1200.

What probably sums it up best is that we have subsequently purchased a different parasol and despite it being £160 cheaper on shade specialists it wasn’t enough to make me want to deal with this company again.

We ordered a product marked as “in stock” back in March. It wasn’t actually in stock and took over a month to be delivered. This was after many many emails which went completely unanswered, weekly phone calls where it was promised to “be with me be the end of next week” (literally like a broken record).

Eventually we received the parasol but as it’s cantilevered without the ability to fold up the frame, wouldn’t fit in our space.

We returned the parasol in person on the 14th May. 4th July now and despite many many emails and many phone calls, I am yet to receive a refund of what is a considerable amount of money.

Appalling treatment of a customer.

Disappointed and frustrated. I purchased a parasol through parasolexpert.fr to avoid any issues post-Brexit with delivery to find that the order would be fulfilled by shadespecialists.co.uk

Weeks went by with no information and emails and phone messages were ignored. I am now in conversation with Adam who, despite the parasol being ready to ship, does not like the delivery costs and won’t give a delivery date. Apparently I should blame Brexit. The company are currently offering a 20% discount on the French website and still taking orders despite admitting delivery issues. If they can offer a discount surely they can ship my parasol after taking full payment two months ago?

Absolutely 5 star company. I wanted a garden umbrella last year but all the ones I found were either designed to break after one use, needed a really ugly huge concrete base or were 1000’s of pounds. Then I came across their beautiful bamboo range. I bought one last year and then decided this year we needed a second. Caroline from customer service could not have been more helpful finding my order from last year and matching it exactly. 48 hours after ordering, the umbrella and base sit proudly in our garden next to the other one. Interestingly although we have had the first one out 365 since we bought it virtually a year ago, it’s almost impossible to tell the difference the quality is so good and it’s weathered so well!
