An Shaws inset sink is only as good as the quality of the surface and installation. Not everyone understands that as a handmade product, the surface needs to work around the actual sink, not just a template from a line drawing. Replacement spares.

Replacement spares ordered on line. Just took a little bit longer to be delivered due to courier forgetting to collect from their depot. Sent an email to Shaws to nudge them along. Very apologetic & product was delivered a few days later.

Attention to Traditional Detail

I spent a long time researching belfast sinks for my Victorian inspired kitchen before deciding on Shaws. Little details matter and I noticed that the vast majority of other brands had evidence of machine profiling - by that I mean the rims of the Shaws sinks are very obviously curved (convex) whereas others had harder edges. This gives the sink that slightly more traditional or old-fashioned look. If I add to this the excellent and caring customer service I received recently, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

WRONG SIZE SINK GRIDS!!!

I ordered the sink grids for my two new sinks, Butler 1000 and the Square. Unfortunately one is quite a tight fit (butler 1000) whilst the square is a completely different fit altogether and it almost seems like it was made for the wrong sink. Not sure what exactly happened in the manufacturing but they should really sort this measurement issue out before listing them as the grids for these individual sinks.

Experiences of a very satisfied customer

I would like to put on record my experience of making a small purchase from Shaws of Darwin. 25 years ago I purchased a superb double Belfast Sink but 25 years later the strainers needed replacing and the company is no longer in existence. I was recommended to contact
Shaws and Susan, working from home during lockdown,sorted everything out efficiently assuring me that if I wasn’t satisfied with the strainers I could return them, nothing was too much trouble.To survive in business in these troubled time you have to give service and look after your customers. Shaws of Darwin do this in abundance they deserve to succeed. thank you

Stunning product

I had to wait a long time for my Shaker sink due to supply issues … worth the wait though as it is crafted beautifully … I have no doubt that I will admire the workmanship every day once my kitchen is fitted. I am an advocate for buying British as I believe, when we do it well, we produce outstanding products. Thank you 🙏.

Great Customer Service

After 8 years, one of the rubber seals on my Belfast sink had gone hard and started to drip. Quick email to Shaws and they're sending me the replacement parts. Great service - thanks very much.

Difficult to clean

We have had a Shaw Belfast sink for 3 years in our kitchen. We also have a competitors Belfast sink in the Laundry room which we inherited over 10 years ago. Admittedly the one in the laundry room doesn't see as much regular dirty water but I am able to clean the other one well when it gets messy.The Shaw one is staining and despite ringing the company, asking for advice on how to clean it, what to use etc, I am still left with a brown stained sink . If it has a life long guarantee then I would like to know how to access that or at least see someone come out and prove to me that it can be cleaned?

Assuming this relates to the same issue you wrote about in your Trustpilot reviews of 28th April and 3rd May, I'm afraid our response is the same. Shaws fireclay sinks do come with a lifetime warranty, but accessories such as basket strainers only come with a one year warranty. We do note your frustration on this point, but at present these are the warranties that apply.
