Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 42 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers were dissatisfied with their orders, frequently receiving products different from what they expected or ordered. People also reported issues with the website, noting that it often lacked crucial product information and appeared misleading. The delivery service was a common point of frustration, with many experiencing long wait times and products arriving from unexpected locations like China. The minority of people were dissatisfied with the product itself, as some found the quality to be poor, with items arriving damaged or leaking. However, some reviewers were happy with the product, finding it effective for their hair, even if the packaging was smaller than anticipated.

The Sheky Scam: Wrong Product, Wrong Story, Wrong Everything!

Does “Mary Sheky (CEO)” Exist?
Oh absolutely. She lives in a pastel farmhouse, hand-whips gel with her daughter, and definitely doesn’t have anything shipped from a warehouse in China. Totally legit. 👍

Let me walk you through my magical journey.

The Discovery
I clicked on a Facebook post that pretended to be a curly-hair group chat but was actually one long advert for Sheky’s. Sneaky, but okay - I’ve bought dumber things at 2am. My hair is basically sentient frizz, so I’ll try anything.

The “Oopsie, Wrong Item!” Email
Soon after paying, I got the classic scammer special:
“We accidentally shipped you the wrong thing, but don’t worry, we’ve totally fixed it!”
Legendary. Especially impressive given they only sell one product. How do you mess up an order when your entire catalogue fits on a Post-It?

Where It Gets… Delightfully Shady
The founders are “Mary and her daughter,” yet apparently they live nowhere on Earth because the website won’t say where they’re based.
Their English is great, though!… right up until tracking reveals their mystical artisan gel is coming straight from China.
The ad shows the gel nestled romantically on sliced oranges, but the website says it’s made with pineapple. Fruit salad marketing, I guess.
Their “Black Friday deal” is just their usual price wearing a sparkly hat.
The promised discount code? Never arrived. Shocking.
And my favourite part: the product I received wasn’t even theirs — it was Miche Anti-Humidity Gel. Iconic plot twist.

Delivery Chaos
The parcel was delivered on a Sunday afternoon (??) by a courier called Relay to my business unit. Because when you think “professional haircare brand,” I’m sure you also picture Sunday warehouse drop-offs by a man who may or may not be running from responsibility.
Luckily a neighbour took it in, or it would probably still be orbiting the industrial estate.

The Results
I used the gel exactly as directed, a tiny amount, and three hours later my hair had transformed into a majestic cloud of fluff that could blot out the sun. So yes, it definitely did something.

Final verdict:
If you enjoy mystery, disappointment, inconsistent fruit themes, and receiving the wrong brand entirely, then Sheky’s is the adventure of a lifetime.
If not?

AVOID. LIKE. THE. PLAGUE!

Scam!!

Scam, scam, scam. They are clearly buying $4 gel from SHEIN and reselling for $27. The website is very convincing - but it’s a lie. Waited over a month only to receive a random hair product of a completely different brand. Wasted money, no response from customer service. Wish I had googled before buying.

This is a scam

This is a scam - do not buy this product. After waiting for weeks for it to arrive, the product was not the one which was advertised. I received a completely different product called Miche, which had leaked all over the very flimsy box and cling film it was wrapped it. I tried to find the company again on Instagram but it has disappeared. I have messaged their website but there is no address - just a mobile number. AVOID AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

After multiple communications with the company about shipping and country of origin, my product arrived after three weeks. However, the product I received was not the one I ordered: it was something from an entirely different company. Posted a review on the Shekys website, only to have it removed. Sad because I really wanted to love this product. This company is a scam.

DO NOT BUY

I ordered this over 4 weeks ago, they said it hadn’t arrived due to them sending out the wrong product….
It arrived today in a half empty container, it was called Mich and not Sheky’s
I asks for a full refund over a week ago and still not in my bank
Avoid at all costs
I am asking my bank to step in

Different product .

The product arrived after 2 weeks but different to what I sent for . What arrived was Miche tropical oasis gel . I thought I was buying from a small independent company but this gel is available everywhere and came from China . I received prompt response to my emails requesting tracking updates but the customer service number is unrecognized. I got no explanation for this. I gave 3 stars as the product is actually good but not what I was expecting and could have been purchased cheaper elsewhere.

Appalling company

I ordered from this company 24/10/25 it is now mid November and still haven't received my order. I've emailed asking for a refund and heard nothing back from them. Don't trust this company with your money!!! Appalling company!

Finally received even though I'd asked for a refund. Like everyone else, received a totally different product the tropical oasis cream. It was badly packed and had leaked. Went straight in the bin, would not trust putting it on my hair!
No way to contact this scam company. 🤬

Shekys is a scam!
I’ve already posted a review.
This is an update to say a product arrived 3 weeks after ordering. It is not Shekys! It’s the same product as mentioned by others- MICHE!
Won’t even try it on my hair as I totally do not trust the product!
Social media viewers beware! THIS IS A SCAM

The product however is Miche tropical oasis anti humidity gel. Haven’t tried it yet. Hoping it’s ok. If I knew all of the above I wouldn’t have ordered it.

Yet another scam!

I’m disappointed that I fell for another Chinese scam. $31 is a lot to spend on a jar of hair gel that never comes! Buyer beware!

Social Media post and website seemed legit

Saw a social media post asking for curly hair product recommendations, and alot of responses answered Shekys, and conveniently somebody else posted an order link. I figured this was an affiliate link, so I clicked and bought. The website seemed legit at the time, but I just learned the website was only 2 weeks old at the time I ordered. A product did arrive after two weeks, but the Shekys name is no where on the product, and I'm scared to even try it knowing it's very likely a scam. Guess I've been had. Will contact my credit card company and block this purchase.

Total scam - avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs! This is a total scam! I’m still waiting for my order but it appears to be coming from china - tracking doesn’t work and no reply to my email asking for an update. Avoid at all costs! This is not a mother daughter curly hair company… not as advertised. Will be asking my bank to chase refund.

This is a scam

This is a scam. Whilst waiting over a week, I checked tracking and it was coming from China. Founded by a mother and daughter - clearly not. On receipt, neither the name nor product were as ordered - name completely different and the product looked completely different. Website says full refund if not happy - very funny as contact numbers don’t work, no live chat as advertised and no response to emails. Save your money and steer clear!
