From the initial contact to finally moving into our new house Shires communicated every move. Arrived on time, everything covered and moved 4 bed house 2 garages, loads to shift, the guys were wet through in the morning then rain in afternoon and wet through again, they worked like donkeys, when it looked like an additional van for second garage was required it turned up within 25 minutes, no delay, nothing damaged and everything in new property placed where we wanted it 8am to 8pm brilliant lads, well done Shires Group.

Brent and David worked tirelessly to make our move as smooth as possible. Despite some rain they carried on. Both men were pleasant and helpful. We were unable to remove our washing machine without Brent’s assistance. On the evidence of their endeavours we can happily recommend Shires Removal.

Efficient and smooth removal experience. Yes, there’s the added insurance etc but if you read the information provided there’s nothing hidden. I’m not moving again 😂 but would recommend to my friends and family. Thank you ☺️

Avoid at all costs. They lost from storage three very beautiful and expensive light fittings and refused to acknowledge they collected them with the rest of our belongings , stored them but failed to return them with the rest of our furniture. The insurance they want you to pay for as well is nigh on useless and not worth the paper it is written on unless they itemise everything in minute detail in their packing boxes. Completely refused to admit any liability at all . Beware if you use them make sure they write every detail of every item on their forms no matter how long it takes, that gives you some protection. Would never recommend this company or use them again.

Excellent service from start to finish. From Chris who did the initial move survey, Lesley & Mandy in the office who offered advice when our house moved was delayed for 3 months and then Dave, Dave & Danny who moved us over 2 days by having to use a smaller vehicle due to access issues at our new house.
All in all a top removal service and one I wouldn’t hesitate to use again or recommend.

Everybody I have dealt with has been extremely supportive and informative in my complicated removal and storage of my house in London. I would recommend them to anybody who is facing the stress of moving house because they made things much easier for me. Thank you to the whole team

Total scam. Number doesn't exist. I got caught out. Don't order anything. It has been reported to the police

Dreadful… start to finish. Have moved 23 times and this by far the worst experience. I didn’t have that much to move 2 bed without a garage plus had moved all kitchen , lamps etc. there was only 4 boxes.

I wanted a price but they said best to go with an hourly rate £90 per hour min 6 hours… hence £540 . Surely 6 hours was more than enough and only going 4 miles.

But no they went over 6 hours just (supposedly sat nav took them wrong going the 4 miles took them an additional 30 mins which I appear to have paid for) my belief they deliberately went slow to ensure they got an additional £90 from me, shocking.

So disorganised … in comparison to Middleton whom moved my son the week before from a 4 bed and 15 miles difference they took 5 hours, set price and included them dismantling and rebuilding a wardrobe. Great company use them.

If you are still minded to use shires make sure you get a set price.

Finally, when I politely wrote to them to request the £90 refund didn’t even have the courtesy to respond.

What an excellent company, can’t praise them enough!! From Lesley and Mandy in the office and the team who did the actual move, everyone was polite, efficient and helpful. The move was on one of the hottest days on record and the two man team were turbo charged!! Utmost care was taken with my possessions, nothing was damaged. All in all, fantastic, can thoroughly recommend. Also, their prices were very competitive.

It’s hard to praise this company enough, from Mandy and Jackie (? Hope I heard correctly) in the office, to Chris the estimator, to Shaun, Tony and Lewis, who executed the move. Everyone was as helpful and pleasant as could be hoped for, unexpected nuisances (inconsiderate parking causing access problems) were dealt with patiently, and the guys worked like energiser bunnies (an Herculean effort), over the two day move. We don’t want to move again but if we did we’d use Shires without hesitation.

We had a terrible experience with this company.
We moved on a day of windy weather, we were told when the removal truck turned up that the office may tell the truck to not set off due to the weather for safety reasons which we completely understood.
Anyway, after loading the truck full they took the decision to set off on the 100 mile journey.
Later... when we eventually got the call that our keys were ready to pick up, we received a call from Shires and we were told that the removal truck was being told to turn around and travel back the 100 miles as they predicted the weather would get worse. The truck was actually parked outside our new home waiting for us!
I told them that we were literally minutes away with keys in hand but they refused to wait and instead turned back with all our belongings leaving us in an empty house over the weekend.
They would not even take off a mattress for us or beds and food for our dog and cats!
The next day we were informed that they would redeliver after the weekend but would be charging us an extra £600! We had no choice but to agree and pay as we had nothing, we were in an empty house, our belongings were pretty much held to ransom for the extra fee.
I did a similar review on google where the company replied and said that their drivers safety was of upmost importance to them - I agree completely with this sentiment. So why did they set off in the first place, surely 10 minutes was not too long to wait for us? Their reply also included an apology for an inconvenience occurred - means nothing as they were only too happy to charge an extra £600 and when I told them we were extremely unhappy and requested that this was passed on to higher management not one manager or owner was bothered to contact us...
We were also told that our carpets and furniture would be covered which did not happen either - in fairness though the removal guys were decent enough and they were the only ones willing to apologise to us face to face.
Do not trust this company. Moving home is very expensive and stressful, this company in our experience added to the stress and the expense. We were treated terribly and I hope this review is a warning to anyone looking for a removals company.

Just wanted to say a huge massive thank you to Shires Removal Group and your entire team. The service we have received over the past six months has been fantastic.

The two colleagues who came to help pack up our house in back in September 2021 were brilliant - they worked so hard to get everything done in the very short time frame we had. They were professional, courteous and above all super efficient. It was a pleasure dealing with Shires each month when it came to paying the storage fees.

The entire team who came earlier this month to return our belonging to us were absolutely brilliant - I can't believe they worked so hard and got everything safe up to our flat (on the third floor) for us in such a short time. They were all very polite, courteous, helpful and as with the other team - super efficient. Shires have some excellent people working for them. We have been truly impressed with this company and the service we have received.

We can't praise this firm enough - if you want an excellent, headache and hassle free move then make sure you engage this firm. You won't be sorry.

We would recommend Shires Removals for their outstanding service. They moved us out of our 4 storey house and put our contents in storage. Nothing was too much trouble for Danny and his team. We expected to use their storage facility for 2-3 months, but due to our original house purchase falling through, this became 15 months.
Luckily, the cost of their storage was cheaper than their competitors’ quotes. All of our possessions arrived safely, without a single item damaged. Towels & bedding etc were fresh and dry and didn’t even need washing on arrival.
They only charged a small & very reasonable extra amount for the extra mileage to our different house purchase.
Danny was also on the lorry that delivered to us (this time with Dave) and again they were really friendly, hard working & helpful. They were very professional, covering all our new carpets before entering the house. Overall 5 star service.

So glad we used Shires for our move from York to Albox, Almeria, Spain. Lesley was fantastic with the required paperwork for customs and friendly and professional throughout. Dave and Danny packed up in York and Brent and Dave delivered to Spain. Not one breakage whatsoever. Such care and attention taken with our personal possessions was so appreciated and took the stress out of such a huge move for us. Got a quote we were happy with, both for them to do the packing or with us doing the packing. We decided to pack, as we could then start ahead of the planned move day. They included an insurance premium, quoted separately, which we took purchased, as we had stuff going to storage before transport so wanted extra peace of mind. Also, discussed a few items which we needed their special attention on as we were unable to wrap sufficiently to prevent damage. On arrival at new home, a number of items were damaged / scratched / broken and one particularly sentimental item was irreparably damaged. We were then told the insurance (we had paid a fortune for) wasn't valid as WE had packed the items. In essence the insurance they quoted for, and we paid for wasn't worth the paper it was printed on - feel disappointed and robbed!

Shires did our house move and we would like to say they were absolutely brilliant
Brent and Ben were fantastic, they are a real asset to Shire’s. The guys were very professional and nothing asked of them was too much , they were very accommodating and did their upmost to keep the stress of the move at a minimal
I would definitely recommend Shire’s and look forward to using them again in the future
