Purchased a dress on sale from the Shona Joy website. Upon arrival, the item was not as described — the sizing was completely inaccurate compared to both the product description and images online. Despite this, Shona Joy refused to offer a refund or even a store credit. I have since lodged a complaint with NSW Fair Trading and will escalate the matter to the tribunal if necessary, as their conduct appears to breach Australian Consumer Law. Very disappointing customer service.
Please note it does not matter if it is a final sale or not, all product should be returnable for refund or store credit if not fit for use ( eg. wrong size sent as website sizing is incorrect) . We are also escalating to the ACCC, as Shona Joy are not complying with Australian law. There are many people with the same experience , just look up their reviews on the web... Don't shop there . Complain to your states fair trading dept or ACCC

Do not order from Shona Joy! I never received the package as it was marked undeliverable and returned to sender. Despite the tracking saying the package was delivered to their return address 1 month ago, they refuse to refund my payment because they claim to have not received it yet. It's a complete scam.

I had an extremely satisfied experience with the whole shopping - from the moment I placed my initial order, through the returns process, refund and placing a new order. Many customers are skeptical and worried about returns - but this was really smooth, the e-mail exchanges with Bella from the team were always on time / prompt - she kindly walked and guided me through of the whole process, which was at the end super straightforward.
I would definitely shop once again and strongly recommend to other customers to do the same.
Once again, many thanks (I can't express how much I'm obsessed with the dress btw ) =)

I have been so impressed by the customer service received from Poppy at Shona Joy. I was returning an item and had a very disappointing experience with the delivery provider (not connected to Shona Joy!) which lead to confusion and delays. Poppy was so reassuring and helpful and really made me feel calmer throughout the situation!

Horrendous customer service and poor quality clothing. Dress arrived long after expected delivery date which I paid 50 USD for. Now am being charged another 35 USD to return the dress. No response from customer care...

Poor quality, wrong size and don't give refunds.
Never again from this shop!

I've had to escalate my purchase to Consumer Affairs Victoria after they issued a store credit without my consent after I requested a refund over the Lani Bootcut pants that were indecently sheer around the bum. Whoever bella is - the customer care representative. She conveniently ignored my email correspondence on the 23rd of May only hearing back on 28th May after i sent a letter of complaint on the 27th May. To which they were vague and lousy in response to an product issue. Bella told me 'it's a matter of personal preference' Excuse me - Shona Joy modelled the product with a mini dress over the top. I couldn't see If the pants were sheer. I'm honestly so disgusted by the circumstances of my first purchase has brought upon. I want my money back and do not shop there if you plan on ending up disappointed by their products. Absolute a***holes!

Shona Joy $256 dress fell apart within 30 mins of the first wear. It got worse, the zip broke right before I was meant to walk into my sons wedding reception. It was irreparable. Friends put safety pins, as my back was exposed. After the wedding I tried to fix the zip, but it was rubbish. I contacted Shona Joy, who told me to contact The Iconic (wear I purchased the dress). After 4 weeks, still no reply from The Iconic. Biggest embarrassment of my life.

IF I could give a 0 I would. The customer service and the whole return process is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. They will rob you of hundreds of dollars for below average dresses. DO NOT BUY!

I recently purchased a dress from Shona Joy, knowing it would be perfect for an upcoming wedding, as I already own the same dress in a different color. Unfortunately, the color looked completely different in person and didn’t work for my skin tone at all, which wasn’t my fault.
I understand the final sale policy, but the lack of any flexibility or understanding from the customer service team was really disappointing. I was hoping for at least some consideration, given that the issue was with how the dress looked in person compared to the photos, which is something I can't control. Instead, I was told nothing could be done, which has left a bad taste.
It’s a shame, because I really like their designs, but this experience has definitely made me question whether I’ll shop here again.
Don't buy there unless you are absolute certain you want the product.

I have two very disappointing experiences with Shona Joy that I feel obligated to share — especially if you're a bride or based in the U.S.
I'm getting married in May and was so excited to try a few Shona Joy dresses for my welcome party. They have beautiful designs, and since they don't have any stores in the States (I live in NYC), I ordered several options totaling around $3,000..
Unfortunately, my package got stuck in customs (not Shona Joy’s fault), and when it finally arrived, it was stolen from my public lobby. I immediately reached out to Shona Joy, explaining the situation and asking if they could resend my package. They refused, saying it was the shipper’s issue, not theirs. Disappointing, but fine—I then asked them to file a claim with DHL since I had signed a signature release but specifically requested the package be left at my front door, not in my public lobby (where it was stolen).
After multiple follow-ups, they finally responded, saying DHL denied the claim because of the signature release. However, when they sent me the actual exchange with DHL, I saw that they never even argued my case properly. They simply accepted the denial without pressing the issue, despite me explicitly asking them to explain the mishandling. At that point, they essentially shut down any further discussion, leaving me with a $3,000 loss and zero support.
As a bride, losing $3,000 a couple months before my wedding is not just frustrating — it’s devastating. I understand the theft isn’t technically their fault, but a company with good customer service would’ve at least tried to support their customer, especially one spending this much money during such a meaningful time.
But unfortunately, Shona Joy does not care about its customers.
To make matters worse, my second experience with them was through my bridesmaid, who ordered a potential dress option I had sent her. The dress was beautiful but didn’t fit, so she began the exchange process — only to find out that Shona Joy does NOT cover return shipping, even for size exchanges. The cost to return the dress from the U.S. to Australia? $350 — more than the cost of the dress itself. We were absolutely shocked. How can a modern brand not offer reasonable return options, especially when shopping internationally is their entire model?
Bottom line: Do NOT order from Shona Joy if you live in the U.S. or value customer service. Beautiful dresses are not worth the nightmare if something goes wrong — and trust me, they will leave you to deal with it alone.

If a zero was available I would have done zero stars. DO NOT BUY unless you are 100% sure you are keeping this product. The cost to return is astronomical. It is not worth the trouble and customer service is useless. They do not know how to run a customer friendly business. I will never buy from this store again.

Wtf is globale?? It gave me a heart attack seeing globalE on my bank statement instead of Shona Joy as I've been scammed in the past and that definitely sounds like some dodgy website that steals your data. Can you please change this or at least personalise your checkout more? Do it for us customers who have trust issues when buying online

I purchased a mini dress online, the model on the website was 180cm tall wearing a size AU6, and I am 165cm and ordered a size AU8. There were no length measurements available. I got the dress it fit fine, but it was so short it barely made it past my bum. I emailed to see if maybe it was faulty but they said that it was not, and that the dress was designed to be 60cm length total. I thought I could trust the advertised images, I wish they hadve listed all measurements. There is no way someone who is 180cm tall is able to wear 60cm worth of dress and have it cover all your bits. The advertising is misleading and cannot be trusted. I would not purchase anything online from them again. Expensive lesson learned.

I WISH I had googled the brand before purchasing and read these reviews. The dresses are nice (although I would say not reaaaally worth the price) - but still nice enough to keep if they fit. However... there is no way to return without paying yourself. I tried to return two out of three dresses because the fit was horrible, but the price of return was basically as much as what I would have received back from the company.
Now trying to resell in hopes of gaining at least a bit of my money back, if not will end up donating dresses worth 600$ (return prices were at least 400-500 with most services). Do not purchase from this brand unless you are 100% sure you will keep the product!!

So frustrating. I honestly didn't mind the dress I got but it did not fit at all like the model so I had to return. If only I had looked at this thread before purchasing.
1. They don't pay for returns as everyone has said and so if you want a tracked package (which you kinda feel obligated to do for such an expensive item), it costs a lot. Paid $70 to get it shipped back and it took forever; it kept saying delayed and I was getting worried they were refusing delivery.
2. They finally refunded me but it's $130 less than I initially paid. They aren't refunding me the GST on the item or their initial shipping cost -- both of which seem crazy that they're able to do that???
I've reached out to see if anything can be done but based on this thread I don't have high hopes.
Just lucky I wasn't caught in one of the store credit loopholes.
If anyone is looking for a dress from them but doesn't want to order directly from them, Revolve has some of their dresses and their return process is seamless.
I personally will never order directly from Shona Joy again.
Horrifying customer service. Dress I ordered was subpar quality and fit me poorly so I returned within the 10 day window. It took nearly a month to get confirmation that they received my order and were issuing a refund. After two weeks from that I filed a claim with my bank. They asked me to drop the dispute with my bank so that they could refund. Which I did. Now two months later I am still fighting to get my money back. Shona joy is non responsive to me and to my bank. I reopened the dispute because of this. This customer service is disgusting.
UPDATE: Now 5 months later they respond to this review? Who is running this business?

I reviewed my negative Shona Joy Experience below. Returned the miserable garment after horrible customer 'service' interaction, tracked delivery arrived one month ago. No refund received. No store credit and an email to 'Customer Care" gave me a consistently immature, defensive, inadequate reply that 3 business days are needed to process the return. I mean ...its been 4 weeks since its confirmed arrival !! Just shocking dealing with this business on all levels. Not sure how they are able to stay in business. I'll be sure to fairly update with their reply.
Bought from Australia. Poor quality and even worse customer service. Recently bought a dress from the new arrivals section. I checked the return policy to ensure that I can refund. A promotion was running across all dresses so that was mandatory applied at the checkout. The dress arrived and it was awful. Does not fit the description at all. As a promotion was applied, I am only entitled to a credit note. Lucky loophole for Shona Joy to lock people out refunds and only offer credit notes. Upon emailing Shona Joy, the service was appalling from customer ‘care’ , Passive aggressive and only interested in protecting themselves. I’ve been interacting with a few brands online recently due to a big wardrobe restock and the difference between Shona Joy and others is vast. My experience with Shona Joy was awful - Poor quality, does not listen to their customers, horrible customer service. Watch out for any mandatory promotional offers locking you out of refunds. I’ve also noticed very limited comments on their instagram - I would never never buy again!

Do NOT order from Shona Joy! Not only was the quality terrible, but they do not provide return shipping options. You need to arrange this yourself. I paid $180 to return one item via FedEx. This was the cheapest option - no insurance - I took a risk even returning. Once my piece got there, they charged me a ludicrous $30 dry cleaning for a mark I absolutely did not make. Then when I was finally refunded, $119 was missing from my refund. It it truly terrible customer service. I lost half the value of my $600 item due to fees for a piece that looked nothing like the item pictured!
