Insanely slow exchange/returns process

Insanely slow exchange/returns process
When ordering climbing shoes, there's always a risk of the sizing being off and so it's important to order with a company who have an efficient returns/exchange process. EpicTV do not have this unfortunately. I spent over £8 on postage to make sure the shoes were sent back quickly and tracked, EpicTV have now had the shoes for a week and are telling me via email that they will email me when they've processed the claim. I haven't even been given confirmation that they've received the product and no time estimate for how long this exchange will take. I'll be going on a climbing trip in less than a week and am starting to assume that I'll be having a to wear my old holey shoes....

Not great for Swiss/non-EU customers

I was happy to see that EpicTV web store was charging me a Swiss VAT 7.7% on my order (EUR 29), that implied I would not need to pay VAT upon shipment arrival. My decision to buy my crash pad from EpicTV Shop instead of other shops was because of this-- I thought they had made this convenience possible and that the total price would be lower.

The products are well packaged and delivered by DHL. However, a few days later, I had received an invoice from DHL asking me to pay CHF 56.5 for 7.7% Swiss VAT + handling fee. I contacted customer support to ask them to pay for this bill and they have decided to just refund me EUR 29 and pasted the text from their Shipping Information page about non-EU customers need to bear the VAT & custom fees on their own, telling me I now can pay the invoice on my end.

My fault not reading this in advance, but why would I bother checking if I need to pay for another VAT upon arrival if I see Swiss VAT 7.7% was already charged at checkout? In ecommerce, this is a common practise to do the import work for non-EU customers like Norway & Switzerland.

It would make sense the customers are responsible for duties & taxes if it VAT was 0 at checkout. Charging a 7.7% VAT was misleading, contradicting their own text on the same info page saying that there would be no VAT charged when ordering.

GREAT customer experience.

When shipping to Europe outside the EU, please be aware that you may be subject to customs fees or import taxes based on the contents and value of your order, discount/store credit or any special promotion will not be included on the export tax document, please make sure to control the total of your order without the discount to calculate potential import tax.

Ordered Petzl Sarken front points…

Ordered Petzl Sarken front points before lockdown, wanted to already use them, since it's still snow in the mountains. After one week, the order was still being processed, so I contacted them what is going on. Only then I got an explanation for the delay. After that the package came in 2 working days across Europe. Overall good experience, legit site as they have an amazing youtube channel.

Solid 4 stars

Solid 4 stars. I ordered a particular item based on the description, which I believe they included from the manufacturer's description of the series. The description told me certain features were included, but when I got the item, the tags showed the features from the series, and in brackets, "not on" my model. Had I known that, I would have spent a few dollars more to get the next model up.
Next purchase, I'll do more research elsewhere. I'm disappointed, but the overall experience has been good for many of my friends, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt

Generally low cost and fast delivery, but...

I have made several purchases with Epic TV, and in all instances I have been delighted with low cost and fast delivery. My only observations are as follows:
1. A lot of items are out of stock and have been so for months now, e.g. tricams, roller biners
2. Some on-demand items are re-stocked but don't last for long
3. It would be great if the following were available: rappel rings, static 10 mm rope by the meter,
Then again, considering the amount and variety of gear that is available, I think that you guys do impressive work.

Highly suspicious behaviour

Update: In responce to EpicTV resply As you stated you have requested the signature of delivery. As I have corresponded to you on several occasions La Poste will provide this only when you as the recipient "claim that the iteam was not received" you have made no attempt to help in this situation. I do not know why the French post system requires this but that the process I have be informed of, and have asked for your help in several times.

Your only reply has been "we don't have a letter box of that type".

This series of events is why I have titled this post "Highly Suspicious Behaviour" untill you stated to La Poste official you did not receive the iteam then all other intents and purposes you receive the iteam.

I returned an iteam and this was received by EpicTV on 20th Feb 2020, as is clearly stated on the delivery tracking. They are stating they did not receive this and refuse to process the refund.

They have been asked on several occasions to email the courier stating they did not receive this delivery. They refuse to do this. Which one would say is suspicious. This means that I be lost £90.

The fact the say they did not receive the package but also refuse to state to the delivery company they did not receive the delivery is highly suspicious.

I have used all other means of contact, the is the last resort to get EpicTV to respond to my emails and contact the courier that they did not receive the iteam.

EpicTV Support and Shop Review

Dear all! EpicTV shop and support staff are really epic and kind! They exceeded all my expectations in solving the only issue I had within 24 hours with minimum questions asked and the items are already on their way to me with a DHL tracking number supplied. I was really worried they will understand my problem, but they did and solved the issue as described above. I have acquired from the EpicTV shop around 30 items in the past few months all was flawless experience. The replacement items will be sent by EpicTV shop through DHL and I have complete relief of all extra cost in regards to shipping charges as all responsibility is taken by the EpicTV shop. Anyway shipping is supper fast through DHL (3 days max to Cyprus from mainland Europe for 9 euros is outstanding value for services provided). I can say more kind things, but I don't want to make my review look as if I am subjective. Thank you EpicTV team for your help! All the best!

MISLEADING SHIPPING POLICY, WRONG CUSTOMS REPORTING

SHIPPING POLICY IS MISLEADING; TAXES, DUTIES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SHIPPING IS NOT FREE EVEN IF YOU REACH THE FREE SHIPPING AMOUNT, ADDITIONAL COURIER ADMIN CHARGES COME WHEN THE PARCEL ARRIVES. VALUE OF SHIPMENT WAS REPORTED INCORRECTLY(OVERINFLATED) TO CUSTOMS WHICH LED TO EXTRA TAX CHARGES. EPICTV DIDN'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE ERRORS, IGNORED ALL ISSUES AND CONCERNS AND HAD NO INTENTION TO MAKE IT RIGHT.

The value of the shipment reported to customs was more than what I actually paid. In respond your reply: "It is a criminal act to provide false information in a customs document. Please do not ask us to say that your order is a gift, state a lesser value or inaccurately describe the contents." I've never requested Epictv to state a lesser value, report the parcel as a gift.

Like clearly advertise on our shipping page, you may be subject to customs fees or import taxes based on the contents and value of your order.

We have no control over any customs charges you may incur, so we can’t advise you on how much they might be. Subsequently, we are unable to reimburse you for any customs fees or import taxes you are subject to, whatever the circumstances.

If your order is subject to duty payments, you should be sent instructions, along with the amount you are required to pay, from the relevant customs office. Sometimes this doesn't happen so if Colissimo or DHL delivery shows up asking for money, you can safely assume it's taxes. It is a criminal act to provide false information in a customs document. Please do not ask us to say that your order is a gift, state a lesser value or inaccurately describe the contents.

When shipping outside of the EU your package will be subject to not only customs and import duty but often a layover at the customs depot. EpicTV Shop and our shipping partners cannot control this process and it could mean your package takes longer than expected to arrive. The shipping time given does not include any layover or delay caused by customs processing.

We are happy to be able to offer express delivery service with DHL Express as an option for the fastest possible delivery of your order, if you select it.

The prices are very good

The prices are very good, but my experience has been so bad I will not purchase products from them again. I live in the states, and the “two day” delivery is via DHL. I ordered climbing gear two weeks ago and am still waiting for its delivery. Despite my calls and efforts to facilitate delivery, it seems DHL will deliver whenever they get around to it. So if you’re excited about getting your new gear in a timely manner as promised, well, don’t hold your breath.
My experience with Epic Tv Shop was at least as frustrating. My first purchase went smoothly enough, and I was willing to overlook the delivery issues even though the choice to go with DHL was Epic’s, but I was unable to complete a second purchase. I kept getting error messages at the payment stage. Called my bank and was told no problems on their end, so I contacted Epic customer service. At first I was told to go back and edit my personal info, “just add some extra spaces here and there and let us know how it goes,” he said. Well I tried that. Pointless. I contacted customer service again and this time was told their fraud team saw “patterns of suspicious behavior” on my account. Interesting, since I had only made one purchase. They explained they couldn’t go into details because it’s a security issue but they hoped I would understand. They told me to do a bank transfer for additional purchase. Well there are extra charges involved with that process, so I think I’m being reasonable when I say thanks but no thanks. Overall, pretty lame. If you live in the states, try Backcountry.com as an alternative. They have decent gear and prices, and more importantly, they are much more reliable.

Us customs can be the cause of the extra delay, unfortunately, we do not have any control over this.
The security level is a big game for us, we like to make sure that all customer information is safe.
