Always excellent service
Always excellent service. Adele was wonderful with my child, who has a mild learning difficulty, helped her through sats (with distinction) and is now helping her with GCSEs. Was available short notice and communicated the whole way through. Will always recommend her to everyone as I believe it's important to have excellent communication, good value for service and always helps when a child is in need. Keep up the good work 👍

Exceptional Tutoring
Adele from Shropshire Tutors is a professional and friendly teacher, who knows how to get the best from her students.
Nothing it too much trouble and the exceptional tutoring my daughter received, both class based and one to one, definitely helped her get a place at Newport Girls High.
I would recommend this company without hesitation.

Thank you!!!!
I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Adele for your amazing services with Poppy. Adele has helped Poppy so much this past year with lockdown and having to be at home for school work. Adele helped Poppy with year 6 lessons for the first lockdown and now year 7 work. Poppy has enjoyed each lesson she has had with Adele and has produced some fantastic work. Adele was very professional, her prices were great and communication was fantastic. So thank you so much Adele for all your hard work.

Outstanding!
I have used Shropshire Tutor for a considerable amount of time now in supporting my Daughter.
Each tutor has been patient, kind and has supported Amelia in the way that she needs to learn.
I have spent a lot of time discussing my needs with Adele - who has time and time again, reassured, supported and listened to all of my worries!
Adele and her team played an integral part in helping me access support to have Amelia's dyslexia diagnosed and in turn provided her with the skills that she needed to pass her sats etc with flying colours!
I have no doubt that Amelia would not be the confident, learner that she now is without Shropshire Tutor - fully recommended!!

I used this service a few year back now… 2017 I'm told!
I used this service a few year back now and I must say I was very underwhelmed with the standand of education, or at least its practices, I feel I and my child received. I paid £160 for 10 hours of tutoring for my son and his upcoming 11+ test.
Firstly after receiving the quotation I questioned its pricing sent me. As the website was stating £112 per term. The quote i received personally was for £160. I was replied to in good time (something I will touch upon later in this review,) that this was last years pricing. The website had not been updated. I felt slightly mislead by what i had seen on the website. In any event,
I paid the higher (unadvertised) amount for ten hours of tutoring in advance, which I'm sure I read in the t+cs was non refundable. If I had paid weekly, my child would not have returned after the second session. In hindsight, maybe should have pulled him from the 10 hour programme and asked for a refund.
After my son attended his first few lessons, he had shown little to no improvement, there we a fair few children in the classroom to be taught but also the practices of photocopying the cem 11plus books for the children to complete, I did not find appropriate, especially as the books clearly state on each photocopied sheet, that they should not be photocopied. I would deem this a copy write infringement? Maybe that practice has now stopped?! I felt cheated in the sense that; I had it in my mind my child would receive a better quality of PERSONAL tutoring, with their own material, at most using the cem as a reference only and not a work sheet. Explaining the principles/methods of areas the tutor identified as problem areas for each child.
The other disappointing point ide like to make is.. I wrote a email after a couple of sessions asking for guidance and help on how to approach my child's attitude towards learning new material, stating he would have a near on melt down and tears as soon as a new concept was introduced. I was upset when this email was completely ignored by Adele. (When earlier correspondence such as discussion of payments were met quickly and efficiently mention earlier in this review). The email was responded with, "if you are going to leave the premises while your child is here (i went and sat in the car) can you leave your phone number in future,
As you have not put it on your form. "
To say I was appalled by the sheer ignorance of my question of help, would have be an understatement. Leaving me to feel completely lost
at the time and my son was completely unsupport by Shropshire tutoring and it did feel like they took the money and ran. :'(
My son reported back that certain children were helped in the classroom and other tables ignored. This i can not verify but from the progress that my child had shown in 10 hours was immeasurable to none at all.
I felt photocopies of a books, we were already working on at home, did not teach the children the fundamental methods/approach on completing an 11+test paper quickly and efficiently. My expectations were clearly out of focus. I just wanted my son to receive something I was unable to provide myself. This, I feel did not happen following the churned out photocopies of books, Of which I still have. Including a little green rucksack which was given out.
In primary school the children are taught to work questions out to the correct decimal point showing all of their working out as they go. w
Where as in an 11plus test, they want the children to work things out quickly by a rough estimate. My child couldn't grasp this concept and neither was he taught it in his tutoring.
To finish, I personally would not recommend this service. Unless maybe one on one basis, for any benefit of improvement to educational level or techniques on how to approach an 11plus exam.
I did not book my child on to the second course, which I was emailed about, enquiring why they hadn't seen my child for a few weeks. My response was that i hadn't paid for the next session and that was met with "ok ill take him off the list".
This is just my personal experience but they seem to have many happy parents.
Edit: The late review is still relevant, regardless of time elapsed. All comments are accurate to how I felt my son and I were treated in the 11+ sessions, costing us £160 at the time and as the service is available still, my review is still relevant, Shropshire tutoring came up in conversation and jogged my memory of my/my sons experience. The person said they had done their due diligence and checked reviews and I thought it was unfair of me not to share my own experience and how I felt about the service. Its Only fair that I share my thoughts no matter, how late in the day.
The review would be irrelevant if Shropshire tutoring was unavailable to the public.
A disappointed parent,
C dixon.

Maths Tutor
We contacted Shropshire Tutor to get some extra help for our daughter with her Maths. Everything was professionally explained to us in how and what she would learning and taught in the lessons.
She had her first Zoom lesson yesterday with Adele, we were concerned that our daughter might not engage or speak much as her confidence has gone but we were wrong, she fully participated with the lesson.
Adele was able to see where her strength and weaknesses where and delivered the lesson in such a way that was fun and easy to absorb. At the end of the lesson Adele gave us feed-back on how she got on and what they had been learning. After only one lesson the change in her confidence in completing her maths set from School is a huge improvement. She is looking forward to her next lesson with Adele.
I have know hesitation in recommending Shropshire tutor for your child’s tutoring needs.

Maths with Adele, fantastic service!
My daughter had her first lesson with Adele today, we have signed up for some additional tuition while we are in lockdown as we noticed her confidence was dipping in a subject where she is usually quite happy. She was nervous to start with but within minutes Adele had her captivated and they worked through the exercises/questions for the hour and now I have a different child! Adele made the lesson fun, taught her new/fun methods to answer questions which also allowed her to see where my daughter was in her learning to help with the future sessions. After 1 hour my daughter had transformed, she as beaming with pride at the end of the lesson and was keen to show me what they had covered which Adele also went through with me. Overall I can honestly say that we are so pleased with the service, so much so that next week's lesson cannot come soon enough and the homework that my daughter was given has already been completed! I am now signing up my older daughter for some 1 on 1 tuition. Thanks Adele, from all of us.

My son had his first session with Sarah…
My son had his first session with Sarah last week and he really enjoyed it. I was concerned as he is a reluctant learner sometimes and I was worried that having the tutor online may not work as well as face to face. How wrong I was Sarah immediately had my son engaged and enthusiastic. He got a lot out of her s session and is looking forward to the next one
My daughter really enjoys attending her…
My daughter really enjoys attending her 11 plus lessons. She gets a lot out of them and is very excited when they cover new material in school and she knows the answers because she has already covered it in her Saturday lessons. She tells me the tutor is very nice. She always seems happy when she returns from her group and is eager to complete her homework. I find the owners very professional, friendly and helpful.
My daughter has just finished her…
My daughter has just finished her sessions with Sarah and she has thoroughly enjoyed every one, we booked to get support during lock down and in preparing for the Thomas Telford test to help build her confidence and it did just that she walked into test with no nerves, could do with some parent sessions to help with our nerves though! Was more nervous than her! Thanks again Shropshire tutor great support and great service

After receiving a recommendation on…
After receiving a recommendation on facebook I contacted Shropshire Tutors. Adele contacted me immediatley and shifted things around to fit my daughter Olivia in before an entrance exam. Olivia is very excited to start with Adele and this will build her confidence and understanding of the test. I have been very pleased with the professional set up to enrol her and communication.
Super star service very helpful

My son really struggled with math and…
My son really struggled with math and Sarah ,his tutor has worked wonders with him, his confidence has improved and he can rattle his times tables of no problems. He never thought he would be able to do that. Sarah made his sessions fun and interesting. She knew how to persuade him, to take part in the lesson, when he was being stubborn as a mule. We have moved on to a secondary tutor now , but will miss Sarah very much
Adele at Shropshire Tutor. 5 Star Service.
Adele at Shropshire Tutor has been an excellent help for both my children. 4 years ago for SATs classes and this last year for 11+ classes.
The main aim was to help our children grow with confidence and allow them to face test conditions comfortably. And this has definitely been achieved.
I can’t recommend Adele and Shropshire Tutor enough.
Thank you for your help and support. Kids have loved your classes.
