I recently purchased a car and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. From start to finish everything was smooth, straightforward and completely stress free.

Shane was the person I dealt with and he was brilliant throughout. No pressure, no pushy sales tactics – just honest advice and genuine help. He took the time to answer all my questions, made sure I was comfortable with everything, and kept me updated the whole way through.

The car was exactly as described and presented perfectly. You can tell he genuinely cares about customer satisfaction and takes pride in what he does.

I’m absolutely delighted with my purchase and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shane to anyone looking for a car. Thanks again for making it such a positive experience!

Terrible after care and questionable cars.

We purchased a BMW from this company around seven months ago. The car looked very nice when we first collected it, but problems started shortly afterwards.

We contacted the garage about a few minor issues, which took some time to resolve, and we were told that we might have to pay for the repairs ourselves. eventually they resolved these.

Not long after, the timing chain snapped! At first, we thought this was just very unfortunate timing and our responsibility as it was outside the 6 months so we took this to a garage ourselves. However, after the car was stripped down, we were informed that previous engine work had been carried out to a poor standard, wrong bolts had been used and silicon had been used where it shouldn't. They said this was likely the cause of the timing chain failure.

We then contacted Signature Group to explain the situation and they immediately shut us down and stated that the issue was not present at the time of purchase and that it was now our responsibility, especially as the car had been taken to another garage.

Be very careful when buying a car from here and make sure you carry out your own checks. They claimed to have completed a full inspection prior to sale, so either this issue was missed or it was not disclosed to us.

Thank you for your review. We feel it’s important to clarify the facts for transparency.

The vehicle was purchased over 7 months ago and was supplied with a warranty that has now expired. At no point during the warranty period were we notified of any engine fault or given the opportunity to inspect or diagnose the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the engine was subsequently removed and dismantled by a third-party garage without our knowledge or consent, and without allowing us the opportunity to inspect the vehicle first. Under UK consumer law, once a vehicle has been independently worked on in this way, the selling dealer is legally unable to assess the cause of any alleged fault or verify whether it existed at the time of sale.

In addition, the vehicle underwent a pre-delivery inspection prior to sale and showed no issues at that time.

For these reasons, and in line with consumer legislation, we are unable to assist with repairs after third-party intervention has taken place. This position is standard across the motor trade and is not a refusal of responsibility, but a legal limitation once the original condition of the vehicle can no longer be assessed.

We always aim to act fairly and transparently and would have welcomed the opportunity to inspect the vehicle had we been contacted before any dismantling work was carried out.

He has done nothing but lie and fobbing me off for weeks now saying it’s banks fault etc. Absolutely avoid.

Fantastic company to deal with

Fantastic company to deal with. Shane & his team go above and beyond. Friendly, honest, professional & 100% trustworthy. I have now purchased over 5 different vehicles from them with no problems whatsoever. Start to finish I am completely satisfied. To top it off, I don’t even look at these car buying places online anymore (webuyanycar.com etc) the best and fairest prices from Shane every time. Once again. Thank you guys 🤝

I was made wary by the first…

I was made wary by the first conversation I had regards a £66k Porsche. Shane using the "F" word a couple a times made me feel that either he was nervous about some thing or just no respect for his customers. Lucky for me I had a £400 pre purchase inspection done by a porsche specialist to reveal the car had previously had a rear end shunt although it was well repaired and a vehicle check showed it had been recently sold at auction.If the car actually belonged to his accountant as Shane claims then both of these things would have been know to him and he changed the subject when I asked direct questions, like if the car had been in an accident or about the full service and mot history. Make sure you get a written emailed receipt for any deposit you leave and not just take his word that he will return it in my case if the ppi was not satisfactory, all of a sudden when I ask for it there is no email response and it has not been returned. I will be intrigued to see the spin he uses to address the above review and you can be sure it will be more car sales man manipulation

Lies, lies and more lies

Not a pleasant experience, sales person consistently lied about the vehicle. A lot of contradictory information that didn’t stack up with the history available online.

Don’t be fooled by the smoke and mirrors of the operation, these are a used car dealership to avoid.

Top dealer and good after sales service

I bought a car from Shane and found his service and attention to detail superb. He was helpful and courteous all the way through the sales process and nothing was too much trouble. I would commend him and his company to anyone looking to buy a car, he is a proper Gent!

Avoid!!

Avoid!!

Sadly, for me this was the worst experience of a car purchase in 26 years of driving. I’m certainly not new to the car game either and have dealt with many dealers over the years across a whole range or manufactures and only ever have good things to say. I don’t mind travelling if the car is right and on this particular instance had a 5 hour return journey to collect the car.

Signature Cars looks very well presented across its website and initial contact, but they always say looks can be deceiving. I purchase cars from dealers for peace of mind and hassle-free experience but unfortunately this wasn’t to be in this case.
I bought a BMW 1 Series (still for sale) with Full Service History (FSH) on Sat 30 Sept 23 for cash/bank transfer so rather hassle free in terms of finance options. I am the most chilled easy-going person you could meet and if the car looks and drives and everything is in order then with me it’s an easy deal as I’m buying the car.
I turned up to buy the car and all seemed well. Thy don’t except credit cards although it states on the website they do, the car also had a few flaws especially the wing mirror which had been poorly painted, but I wasn’t really concerned as I would have them replaced with the performance kit that was planned to go on, but still it was a complete surprise to see it turning up. Nevertheless, all being well I took the car and was actually quite happy with it and the potential it had, that was until the next day when I dug in into the service history of the car as something wasn’t right with the paperwork.

The more I dug into it the worse it become. It appears the 2 independent services were somewhat fake. The car was sold to a customer MOTd and serviced on the same day, yet 75 miles apart, serviced in Kent and MOTd in Essex without the millage changing. You may say this I normal and could have been on a trailer but the more you dig, the worse it gets. The following year again MOTd and serviced miles apart but this time the registration doesn’t match. All the MOTs stack up to be correct but don’t match the service history of the car which only leaves me to conclude its faked. The service history across 2 years is exactly the same to look at apart from the date and millage. The BMW is only required a service at 18,000miles or 2 years so the over service didn’t make sense especially since it was more expensive than the main dealer.

I contacted Shane of Signature cars on Sunday morning who didn’t answer. He messaged to say they don’t work Sundays, if I’m not happy with the car bring it back. Very strange response as at this stage he wasn’t even fully aware of my concerns.

I don’t like to create problems and try to find solutions. I couldn’t trust the servicing on the car and for peace of mind the car would have to be serviced so I knew it was up to date. Taking away the 2 independent services, the car had gone 2 years since its last service and due now. I offered Signature Cars the opportunity to have the servicing rectified but refused. He wasn’t interested in doing anything expect returning the car for a full refund which is easier said than done when it’s a day off from work and 5 hours on the road. I asked for the car to be collected which was declined so after many messages backwards and forwards and still no actual conversation other than messages I decided to take the car back on the Tuesday 2 days after purchase on the agreement my costs would be covered, which he agreed.

The car was returned and a full refund on the car given, they even took me to the station which was great. I didn’t leave until my car payment was returned and was told the second payment would come as a separate transaction. However, I’m still today waiting on my costs to return the car. Very reasonable cost I might add, £68.60. This covered the fuel, car tax and my train as am now out of pocket for reasons beyond me. I didn’t add the admin fee of my insurance.
When I chased this, I got a very nice message from Shane saying his solicitor would be in touch for the millage incurred, re valet etc. I thought this was a joke and clearly no mention of this previous. I was returning the car because of a genuine concern and issue. A massive issue in fact.

I bought this car and put 100% trust In the dealer and sadly have been let down. Time, expense, and unnecessary stress which all could have been resolved more amicably. I have given the dealer every opportunity to rectify this issue. Unfortunately leaves me no choice but to let others know of my experience.

Hi Chris, Thank you for taking the time to review our business, The service history has been verified with the garage as being correct, But we refunded you in full as with any customer that is unsure about a purchase we would rather refund you in full than you go away unhappy. Unfortunately we cannot refund your train fair, But can confirm you was refunded in full for any payments made to us. I know you wanted to keep the car and asked for another £300 back to keep it, but due to us already reducing our the vehicle £500 when you come down, we couldn’t afford to give you more money back.

Excellent customer experience 👍

Shane was professional and curttious, we agreed a price for my car which I was very happy with, we arranged a date for himself to pick my car up and was on time , money transferred by direct transfer, all wrapped up in 30 mins!! Would recommend Signature cars all day long , I'm sure I will be doing business with Shane in the future!! 👍🙂

So we needed to buy a car

So we needed to buy a car, and after visiting the usual main road dealers and coming away feeling that they weren't being truthful,or couldn't be bothered to sell us one, I was recommended signaturesgroup and I can honestly say that I've never felt more comfortable buying a car, the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and sold me the perfect car for me, would definitely recommend them and use them again.
