Simple Landlords - terrible service!

I had insured with Simple Landlords for a few years, but this year tried to make a claim. The experience means I will not be insuring with them again. They ignored all the evidence I sent them to show that the leak experienced was recent and accidental and would, by other companies, have been considered an insurable risk and paid out. Simple Landlords simply do not intend to pay out on any claim. I have found this out the hard way. I don't recommend trying this yourself! AVOID! They will not help you when you need it!

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. I currently have a claim going through with them which I have taken to the ombudsman. Simple are really unhelpful and obstructive. They use a third party company called BVS who are there to cheat you out of your insured rights. When you call you get a different call handler every time. They can never find your case details. Their entire purpose is to make things difficult and just deny every and any claim and that’s how they keep their costs low. I will never insure with this company again or any company who use BVS. If this was my 83 year old mother she would have no chance at getting what is her rightful insured losses. AVOID. AVOID.

Their helpcentre doesn't help...or answer the phones.

I tried phoning their helpcentre. As usual with these companies there is a number of menu choices, 1 for claims, 2 for renewals etc. No matter what options I picked I was kept on hold for 3 minutes and then a message came on "Unfortunately there is no one here to take your call. Please leave a message". No one called back. 2 star because they are usually the cheapest but I'm concerned now that if I do have a claim they will be totally useless.

I bought insurance from this company in September 2018, and unknowingly in Sept 2019

I bought insurance from this company in Sept 2018. They renewed this insurance in Sept 2019, saying that I have not opted out for automatic renewal in 2018. I had missed unticking a box when filling in their online form! Not surprising since I was filling in an insurance form and they take hours.
They took over £200 from my bank account and charged me £25 to cancel insurance that I did not want, had not knowingly agreed to purchase and had bought from another supplier.
They are slow to answer emails, so I had to ring a premium rate phone line to get this sorted out and they still refused to waive the £25 cancellation charge.
