Were good now a nightmare

We moved to Simple Servers around 2 years ago to have a hosting solution for several important websites. we have also moved a couple of clients over. Initially things were were fine, responsive and helpful. Now they have removed the help line number and it is obvious why. Any request regarding the server is ignored unless you agree to pay them to look at it. When we have paid them they are useless, or in one case screwed up a simple website clone that meant we had to get our developer to troubleshoot at cost to us. We gave up and have moved all hosting to a new, much more competent provider that you can actually speak to and doesn't want to charge for everything server related.

Hi Nigel,

We feel this review doesn’t show the real picture of the case. We just took a quick look at the most recently reported cases, and feel this review requires a response from our side:-

You were hosting your website on the smallest cloud server with us, which came with minimal resources and you didn’t have any server management add-on. When you go for this, as listed on the page, we expect the customer to be able to handle/manage their server.

When you purchased this server itself you were aware of how much resources you were entitled to and the level of service that we offer for the plan. On multiple occasions when you reported issues, though it didn’t fall under the scope of support for the plan you had with us, the team, under the instruction of the management (to whom you spoke on multiple occasions over the phone, and who went out of their way to help you out), had reviewed the issues reported and suggested solutions.

The tickets show cases where we had told you multiple times that your site wasn’t optimised, needed more resources, and that you should pump in more. You didn’t want to upgrade ever. Your site wasn’t optimised either, but you felt the easier way was to simply blame the server, and the team here.

Yes, you paid for us to do a clone of the website. You had a dev site which had no accesses to it, which you wanted us to clone to your live site. We did this for you, after which you kept saying the cloned version was showing errors. We proved to you, it was an identical clone and that your server was struggling once it had live traffic onto it, and that you had to either optimise your site, or add in more resources. We also proved to you that the initial dev version had the same errors in the error logs, but you simply chose to ignore those facts in this review.

On another occasion when you tried to blame the server for the poor performance of your site, we set up a live site on your server and showed you how responsive and fast it was, thereby confirming once again that it was the site and NOT the server at fault. Even you confirmed at the time that it was a problem with the site, and that you would get your dev to work on your installation.

Looking at your most recent ticket, the management realised how unreasonable you were becoming over support tickets, blaming just the team and the server for everything, and never addressing the actual problem. It shows here they politely asked you to find a new host if you felt we were not good enough, as you were taking up support hours without addressing the actual problem, and towards the end it was just a blame-game.

Though we had our differences, on this occasion, we at Simple Servers do thank you for your business. We hope you are on the right plan with the right amount of resources at your new host, and wish you and your business the best of everything.

Hosting for Magento 2

Long time to choose hosting for Magento 2. I'm with you I hope it's a long time. There were issues that technical support has solved quite successfully and quickly. I'm happy.

Good service with prompt responses

Good service with prompt responses, would be nice sometimes though too be able to speak on the phone so that things can be understood better. However overall I cant knock the service.

Simple Servers customer service and…

Simple Servers customer service and technical support has exceeded our expectations.We wanted a hosting solution for our Magento 2 website. After struggling for a number of days with Amazon Web Services, we came across Simple Servers. They were a breath of fresh air. They had a number of scaleable hosting packages that could cater for our needs as our requirements changed. Most importantly they had optimised Magento 2 stacks which ensured good site performance. After answering many our technical questions promptly, they had us up and running within 24 hours. We received fast replies to our support tickets to enable us to fine tunevour set up. Well done guys, you are unique. Keep up the good work.

POOR SERVICE

Great when they want you to sign up for a new server, not so great when you want to leave, they still owe us £202.80 a payment they took in error but despite emailing them a dozen times and being told they will process the refund 8 months later still waiting ......

Started well but quickly went downhill

Started well but quickly went downhill. Helpful to start with but then started encountering problems and could never get a straight answer. 5 periods of 503 errors in a week and basic attitude was shared hosting what do you expect if you don't want to be affected by other sites buy dedicated. Also had site down for couple of hours and one support telling me they had changed php and other swearing blind absolutely no changes had been made their side. Shame as thought had picked right host which you are never sure about and have to say if I could have dealt with Ray all the time things may have been different, found him to always be massive help and certainly knew his stuff.

Having seen your responses to every other poor review have no doubt you will basically claim to have done nothing wrong as havent actually ever seen you apologise yet

Edited to add have now been with new host 2 weeks, surprise surprise minute i moved all problems ceased and now enjoying consistent up time, no errors and no glitches.

We’re sorry about the delay in responding to your review. We did take a look at the case, and must admit, we could have a been lot better to help you out at the time. Sincerest apologies. The server seemed to have been struggling then, as a couple of accounts on it had overloaded it, on separate occasions. You had reported the case multiple times, and we could have at least offered to migrate you to a different stable shared server, but it looks like the team missed to do this. The server has now been upgraded and the offending customers moved to more suitable hosting. The matter has been noted internally, and we’ll be discussing this in the upcoming team-meeting.

We’re pleased to know the site is up and stable at your new host and are free of any problems. In future, if at all you feel like giving us a second chance and coming back to Simple Servers, feel free to contact us. What a wonderful support that simpleserver team offers. I have always observed whenever you are in need the support team is always there to offer instant help. I have saved hours with them. This makes me a happy customer of simpleserver always!

Very good company, great support and fast

Very good company, running Magento and very fast, the support has been great compared to other hosting i had for years
This company by far the best the prices are fair and worth the money hands down, the support is great unlike others.
My magento site loads now in 0.8 seconds if the service stays like this i wont be moving again.
