Slow and massive charges

Thought I would give this app a go but processing times for receiving my own money is a joke.no reply to questions etc either.will be going elsewhere when my payment finally clears
Update have been charged 15% on test payment.funny they advertise 2-3%

Support team have been exceptional

Support team have been exceptional. Had a few problems to start with because I couldn't get on-boarded and take transactions as quickly and effectively as I wanted. Spoke to the support team (one person was ever so helpful but couldn't remember her name! sorry) and they have worked tirelessly to get it sorted. Finally got it sorted, got told they were rectifying the issue with the processor and now things should be working. They were honest and apologised about everything and made sure I was up and running as soon as possible.

Now I couldn't be happier, been using the app a lot and so impressed with it all. Thank you to the team and would honestly recommend this to anyone!

What started as a great and easy way to…

What started as a great and easy way to take card payment for my business has now almost completely self destructed during its change over from one card processor to another. Customer service used to be excellent, it is now without doubt the worst i have ever dealt with. Phone calls go unanswered and emails are ignored. I am now 2 to 3 weeks without a card processor but they still manage to take payment for the service i am not receiving. I have noted some others finally get a reply and their situation looked at if they complain on here so finger crossed.

Further to this review i have been contacted with assurances that they are trying to help but nothing actually gets done. Prior to this i would have recommended them to anyone, post wirecard integration these are the very last people you should use. Their customer service is swamped with complaints and registration with their new card processor is an absolute joke. What a real shame to have spoiled what was a great service.

The follow up reply is just sadly the standard reply, they have been promising help for a month now but nothing actually happens. I have now left and have asked for a refund of my subscription cost for the last month as they did not provide any service. I will update if this arrives.

In regards to the customer service not doing anything, they are doing what they can to accommodate. However, since getting in touch with them, despite commending our other card processor, you were not interested in switching back to them from Wirecard, in which case we are in a very difficult position to resolve your issue by also not wanting to use Wirecard. We can do this for you in no time as we have done for other customers. Please let our support know if this is something you'd want to do. Our only priority is making sure you are looked after and receive a service you are happy with.

We have, as always, every intention of listening to our customers, which is why we are in the immediate future resolving all these disappointing issues. We can assure you nothing has been spoilt, despite a few bumps in the road. We are all working very hard to improve the service and sort everyone's issues with the new processor. Hopefully you'll have another look in the near future once we've resolved these issues, integrated further services and made further improvements to the overall offering.

We have experienced some unfortunate issues from our new provider which has caused more issues than we'd like to have had. We're now doing everything we can to restore everything to the good old service on the processing side. We are aware phones are quite overloaded, but emails should all be answered in reasonable time, and we are deeply disappointed to hear that you have not received a reply to yours. As for payments being accepted for a subscription in SmartTrade, we are more than happy to help with this so you are satisfied with your service.

We will make sure to pass this on to hour head of support who will reach out to make sure everything is sorted. We will certainly do what we can and apologise for any inconvenience caused!

Cost per transaction?

UPDATE: the support team got in touch and were extremely helpful and have sorted out the issue which was due to technical problems with the change from Stripe to WireCard. Although this does not excuse the issues, the support and service I received once someone was on the case was very good. I will continue with the app.
Original post: The cost per transaction is not what is advertised. I cannot work out what I am actually be charged per transaction as it seems to be different on each one. They advertise 1.65% but I have paid 2.9% on the first one and 2.35% on the second. I have contacted support several times to try to get info on what the charges actually are but they don't respond. Currently I rarely take card payments and so did not want to pay for a terminal, but I will consider moving to another platform if I can't get any info from them. Hopefully someone will be reading this and will reply!

Very unhappy with this service

Very unhappy with this service, now they have moved over to another provider it’s even worse now there is hidden reserve charges on payments received from customers and we have lost all faith and trust in this app, we also pay the monthly charge as a sole trader so after working things out we are better off with a terminal machine far less charges per transactions and the monthly charge for the sole trader is no different than renting the card machine terminal.

We are very sorry to hear about this experience using SmartTrade App. You are correct in that we recently made a move to Wirecard from Stripe, which has brought on some unexpected challenges and these have in some cases unfortunately been a surprise both to us and to our merchants. We are still working to resolve all of them and hope they will be soon.

As for the charges, we try to be as upfront with everything as we can, including offering a free monthly plan where you only pay the transaction rate. Our full schedule of fees is available in our support centre. There is currently a 5% rolling reserve being help, which was also a susprise to us, but we believe we have found a solution to this which means we are working to get rid of this in the next few weeks.

Please know we are more than willing to try and redeem ourselves for the inconvenience caused to yourself in any way we can. Our support team is always happy to assist!

A really great trading app

A really great trading app, very easy to use, works really well. What stands out beyond the functionality is the excellent customer service I've received from SmartTrade app, very quick response rate and a sense of real care and interest in resolving any issues I've had. Very highly recommended!

Improves Any Small Business

Makes running a business so much easier. No need for cash and it's the 21st century way of accepting payments. I could bin off my iZettle reader and just use my phone instead, without a contract and competitive rates for a small business. Highly recommended!

I have been a tradesman for over a decade, never been able to get a merch account.
With the SmartTrade App i cant take credit card payments without a problem.
