Very professional and friendly service from Esther Salter…

It has been a very long journey with our solicitor Esther Salter to resolve our SEN Tribunal and we received a high standard professional service to get to a positive outcome of the case. In years of property dealings never have I come across any firm who do not respond to any calls or emails and appear to be basically incompetent.

My personal experience was via their conveyancing team.
I had high expectations following initial call back.
Ineffective communication , I had to constantly keep chasing for updates and I found one member of the team to be patronising, unhelpful and downright rude.
I personally have had a nightmare experience which is still not over.

I came to Simpson Millar for support when I began to feel bullied by the local authority after starting the SEND tribunal process for my child. Sarah Woosey is extremely knowledgeable, gets straight to the heart of the issues and gives excellent advice. She was also very empathetic about the emotional toll the tribunal process takes on parents and children. Thanks to Sarah, my child is now for the first time in a school which is truly meeting their needs.
I cannot recommend her highly enough to any parent or carer seeking proper support to meet their child's needs.

I was reluctant to use a on line solicitor but after ringing round local lawyers , they were too busy with the stamp duty reduction to take the conveyancing of my fathers flat sale.
Read some reviews on this company so I went for it , no issues recommending them , Dawn and Rebecca were first class always keeping me up to date

I was diagnosed in November 2020 with mesothelioma and given a very short life expectancy, I was offered and took chemotherapy to slow the advance of the cancer but refused further treatment after the terrible side effects from the first dose, in January 2021 it was suggested to me that I seek compensation because I had been exposed to asbestos, i was very unsure if I should proceed at first but then I spoke to Helen Grady of Simpson Millar who put me in touch with Anthony Waddington who pursued my case throughout with determination and attention to detail finding insurers for companies I had worked for in the sixties and ensuring that they faced their liabilities, in August 2021 the insurers admitted liability and settled with a payout of £170.000. This money will ensure My future care needs, if you have a similar problem and you are doubtful and unsure then just do it contact Anthony Waddington he will be able to help, coincidentally after having my two Covid jabs I am much better and looking forward to Christmas !

Sophie Whitby was full of advise and help. She was dealing with the transfer of equity as I had a right to purchase my ex husband's interest in the property. I was very stressed at the time but she was very professional and kept me informed on a regular basis. I would thoroughly recommend her.

Her assistant Lisa Cullen was always so pleasant and it was a delight dealing with her too. I would wholeheartedly recommend Simpson Millar and will certainly return in the future.

From the outset both by phone and on email, the staff were friendly and helpful. Circumstances caused by the pandemic have been difficult to say the least; they been very supportive of my personal situation.

I have successfully completed with the help of SM who have kept me informed at every stage.
I particularly liked the ‘fixed fee’ outline offered to me at the start.
The buyer of my property was not so lucky and struggled with communicating with his solicitor and I have recommended SM to him for another time.

I have gone for Conveyancing service. Its absolutely pathetic experience. The case handler for my application was changed twice and due to this I lost 2 weeks. When ever the case handler is changed, they will take another week to go through the file - so yet another week is lost. Multiple people will ask you to send acceptance email for the same thing, for instance if I am happy for them to place searches etc. and they wasted at-least a week to agree among themselves if they can place the searches.
Not professional in emails. They don't even bother to read full email from client. One liner, incomplete responses, lack of ownership, typos in the client reports they generate - all these show their abysmal professionalism.
They sent bunch of documents for my review and to sign them. And they missed the critical TR1 form until I found and highlighted. It has been a very tough journey with this lot.
I don't recommend them at all.

Massive thank you to Helen Martin and her team. They pulled out all the stops to get us completed on time. Giving the fact they are extremely busy at the current time Helen always made sure to answer my emails.
I did pester quite a lot and felt sometimes a call would of been better. But again they are extremely busy at this current time. So I thank you for putting up with me.
