I had an employment issue that I needed help with. I needed someone with professionalism and expertise. I had a solicitor assigned to me, his name was Balal Qaser. This man took me through all of the steps to resolve this problem. He kept me in the loop all the way and always answered my emails,wether they were relevant or not. What a badly organised conveyancing department. The service we received was diabolical.
We wanted a simple conveyancing, no chain, no complications.
We were passed between 6 conveyancers over 3 months before finally getting someone who knew what they were doing.
For weeks we were fobbed off and ignored. Staff were going to ring back but never did. We spent 2 days of our holiday trying to talk to someone/anyone. The poor people on reception must have been totally bombarded, I am sure we weren’t the only ones.
Our saving grace came in the form of Neelam Shah who went back to the beginning and sorted out all the mess the others had left.
We were so grateful to her as we were getting so tight on time and did not have time to appoint an alternative conveyancer.
If you do have need to use this company, ask for Neelam Shah

Simpson Millar handled a Protective Payment Award Claim for me after I was made redundant. They handled the claim swiftly and kept me in formed of everything that was happening. The claim was concluded within 12 months and I received more than I expected to. Nicola Roberts was fantastic and I would highly recommend her for these claims.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! This company is the worst company that I've ever dealt with... This company will cause you stress and other mental health issues. Their customer service is non existent, they do not answer telephone calls, they do not respond to emails. Please scroll down the list and read other people's reviews... Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere if you want a solicitor to deal with the buying or selling of a property!!!

I instructed Simpson Millar back in May all was ok until they closed the conveyancing department, they instructed me 3 different solicitors in 2 weeks the last one was Zakia Razzaq, no work was carried out in 5 weeks my buyer was unhappy and I could not continue with this company, I would advise anybody who has been handed over to a solicitor to get out now, they will not complete your work they will tell you they are working on your file
I was told many times that my file was being looked at and nothing had been done
You may end up losing your purchase or sale, I have now instructed a new solicitor who is working hard to pick up the mess they have left behind, I also felt I could not trust this company to handle the large money transactions or that I would be able to reach somebody on exchange and completion dates, this company is a shambles

I engaged Simpson Millar to carry out conveyancing for the purchase of our next house. The 1st conveyancer left the business without warming, the current conveyancer has been impossible to reach for the past two weeks ignoring email & phone messages. Deadline for exchange of contracts passed yesterday, still no contact. Appalling level of service for such an important matter affecting peoples lives, the level of service has impacted all concerned in the chain.

My conveyancing solicitor was Jamuna Rajah. She worked so hard to meet our very tight completion deadline. She had no assistant at the time and a lot of other cases to manage. Her level of expertise are unquestionable and she was happy to explain complex matters in detail. Agreed the sale of a property in June. Simple exchange, buyer is not in chain!! Still not complete or no completion date set. You will never get to speak to your solicitor and will find it very difficult to get a response via email. 4 months later I am completely in the dark with what is happening with my case. There simply is no one in the company to turn to. All you get is a switch board who will 'pass' the message on and request a call back. This has never happened. I am going to engage another solicitor this week to complete my sale.

I am not too sure where we would stand by writing about the details of our treatment by Simpson Millar Conveyancing. I would really like to tell you the whole story and name names but we cannot afford to become involved in any kind of legal proceedings. In fact, even if I felt secure enough to relate the events, you wouldn't believe them because they are, quite frankly, implausible. Stating the objective facts, we lost everything in terms of buying a house and securing the long term future of our extended family. We are now stuck in (unnecessarily expensive) rented accommodation and my mother has been forced into a Care Home expressly against our wishes. If we had the financial resources, we would begin a legal case against them (which is a joke within itself). When the same thing happens to you, DON'T even consider using the Legal Ombudsman- they will waste your time for a year and, then, merely side with the Solicitor (ultimately, it is akin to someone laughing in your face due to you being absolutely powerless). Instead, please do heed my warning; deal with Simpson Millar Conveyancing at your own peril. We wish to God that we had read the relevant reviews below beforehand.

Don’t go anywhere near Simpson Millar, their service is absolutely appalling. They don’t care about you as a client. Their communication skills are below nil! I tried to get a house sale through with them which started end April, they were slow and uncommunitive. They kept asking me the same questions and then didn’t pass these onto my buyers solicitors. I emailed them and they never got back to me. I rang them and they never got back to me, in fact in the end the receptionist was incredibly rude and refused to give me either of the people who were suppose to be sorting out my case and refused to give me an email address. My estate agent tried to get hold of them as did the buyers solicitor with no joy. I was suppose to exchange this week, but have had no response even though I have rung them everyday and emailed two or three times a day. They have caused me so much stress and anxiety I have now instructed a new solicitor and just hope that I can get to exchange and completion with them. They treated me very badly so please avoid avoid avoid!!!!!

My case has been with the firm since July, close to completion and since august been ghosted. No response at all, my solicitor left the firm and I was not even notified until last week and no updates at all. Can’t reach the “direct numbers” no response to emails or voice mails. The vendor’s deadline is near and we might end up losing our first home! Absolutely appalled by the service, complete lack of professionalism! Biggest mistake I have made selecting this firm for my conveyancing services!
