So tired of the rental semi-scams that are so common in Europe.

Regardless of the boxes you tick while booking the rental, they always invent something extra you need to pay at the counter.

It's becoming absurd. This time I was informed that my full, all inclusive, all checkboxes ticked, super-duper, zero deductible insurance that I took during the booking DOES NOT cover windows, rims and tires, and there's €70 extra for that.

What next? Full damage waiver that doesn't cover... rear bumper? Left side mirror?

I of course took it, since as the experience shows, if you don't take the extra insurance offered, they'll always invent some "damages" for you to "compensate".

I wonder how the US and Japan, for instance, can operate car rental without running this "extra payment at the counter" scam?

It's not as much about the €70 but the feeling of being screwed over.

The pick up and return service was professional, swift and informative. The car brand provided was the same but the model was different, I got and Audi A3 Sportback instead of an Audi Q2, this is expected when renting a car, as the model requested might not always be available.

The minor caveat for me was that the car provided was Diesel Automatic, instead of Petrol Manual, so I couldn't feel the enjoyment of changing gears in a more refined driving experience. The Audi A3 Sportback was great though, big enough for my family and a real pleasure to drive, so I'm happy to give it 5 stars.

Your employee, Stephania, she was awesome. Her English was great and made me feel extremely comfortable. Our 30 minute conversation was great. You need to pay her more, make her a manager or do something to make her life better working for you. I normally do not write comments or reviews but my experience with her was great.

We booked and paid through the easy jet app. On arrival at Manchester airport the shuttle service to the car park was very good. We did not do the online check in to pick up the car so we attended the desk to fill in the extra details and access to the key pick up.
This is when we were talked into and sold the extra insurance for damage waiver charges. This is sold and not clearly informed by the “Sales person “ that the charges quoted are not including VAT and extra airport charges.
The airport charges were included on the original EasyJet invoice, we did not expect to pay this again on the extra insurance. And more than double the easyJet charge. Overall from the rental we purchased online we ended up paying more than double of the original price. This is a very sneaky way of selling car insurance at an extortionate price. We feel very let down by SIXT for not clearly stating the exact price per day for the insurance including taxes and a further airport tax on the insurance. On my complaint they did waiver the top up fuel surcharge. This wasn’t needed as we filled the car ourselves, but how ridiculous is it that not included in the rental price is the charge for the service of putting petrol back in car (NOT THE PETROL) whether you fill it yourself or not!
We will NOT be using this company again for our car rental as we would prefer that all the extra charges are well informed or included in the original price.
The customer service by email to the manager was very good but it did not give me any confidence to book with them again.
My advice is to check ALL the small print and to make your own decisions without the influence of a sales person on check in.

The easiest and most pleasant car rental we’ve ever had in many years of traveling. Rented from the Barcelona location at 74 Rambla de Catalunya and worked with Laura. She was efficient and thorough and very kind. Every detail was covered such that we had no questions and the pickup/drop off was just as described. Will always use Sixt when we can!

Excellent service, friendly staff and seamless pick up and drop off. I was extremelly happy with the whole experience and will continue to use Sixt for future trips.

Easy pick up and good staff

SIXT is definitely a leader in rental car. SIXT high standards addressing customer satisfaction together with Spanish hospitality in SIXT office at Málaga Train Station was impressive.

Not problems at all, staff was very kind.
The deposit money took 3 days to be credited back. Its not optimal but its ok.

Everytime I’m trying to call you just hang on when I’m trying explain my situation with the rental pr min that cost 0,37€ by Zity but you say guys say that you don’t have any rental pr min, when I can see the option on the Sixt App and I’m standing infront of the rental?? And my location is in Spain Madrid…

Good and fast delivery

My journey to Spain started in Gatwick UK and we had problems at our end that meant we would not be arriving at our destination airport in Spain. This would invalidate our car rental with SIXT.... So I managed to ring them and got through to Andrew in "Team Sixt" and I explained our
predicament. He explained he would do what he could to move our booking to the following day, which would be when we were able to get to the airport in Spain.
We arrived the next day and were met my Justine on the Sixt desk and when I gave her my name, she explained that they were expecting us AND with no additional charges for our changes. Thank you Justine (Andrew and other " Team SIXT" personal I spoke with) you made a very difficult 24hrs for us become a little easier with your help and support. Many many thanks once more

Very large selection of cars. Sixt is a quality rental brand - you feel from every single moment. They have improved a lot in recent years.

Quality of the car.
VIP delivery. The only improuvable point is that the VIP delivery location has an extra neon light that is a little low when opening the trunk of the car. The hood hits the suspended lighting system.
