I had sold my bmw 5 series today to s james prestige and from the first point of contact to last they were phenomenal. Made me feel important as a customer and addressed any issues i had. They kept me up to date with all parts of the procedure of selling my car and i had a million and one questions for them and they answered them without being unhelpful. I would sell to these guys again. I had the pleasure of speaking to steve and luke who took good care of me especially on day of collecting the car which was today it was done within 30 mins and payment was received on the spot and all documents signed and emailed before i left the car. Unbelievable service

Many of our vehicles can be placed under offer very quickly, often with finance applications in progress. During this time, we are unable to engage in further negotiations or sales discussions on those vehicles, as it would be unfair to the customer already proceeding. This is standard practice and ensures a fair process for all parties.

We also want to make clear that we have made attempts to contact you to advise that the vehicle you were interested in is now available and currently on the market. We have both called and emailed, and are currently awaiting your response.

We do not intentionally avoid interaction with customers, but during particularly busy periods and with high demand stock, response times can occasionally be longer than expected. That said, we apologise on any delays you have received in communication from us.

Car Sale

Sold our car to S James via an online site.
Good communication once price agreed , Steve contacted us promptly and explained the process. Collection of our car maybe a bit slower than we expected but probably due to Easter weekend holiday. Car collected by Paddy who was very patient as we had problems with our Wi-Fi/printer regarding paperwork to be processed.

If selling or lucky enough to be buying in the future we wouldn’t hesitate contacting S James.

Purchased a GLE from Michael back in…

Purchased a GLE from Michael back in January and, to be honest, I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. This is the second Mercedes I’ve bought from them, the first being a GLC.

The customisation options are fantastic and really set the cars apart from others on the market. I had no issues at all with my GLC. There have been a few very small niggles with my GLE, however Michael has always come back to me quickly and made sure everything was resolved as soon as possible.

Kim and Mat were also fantastic during the handover. Great people to deal with — always friendly, helpful and welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

My experience with S James Prestige has…

My experience with S James Prestige has been extremely disappointing and I feel other buyers should be aware of how they operate.

Firstly, they require a £500 deposit just to view a car. At the time I didn’t think too much about it, but looking back that alone is pretty unreasonable.

The bigger issue came after purchasing the car. Alongside the main finance payment there was an additional monthly payment of about £37 going out to the same finance department. I later discovered this was actually a separate loan of around £1,400 that had been taken out as part of the deal. When I called to question it, I was told it was for warranty and “bits” added to the car.

Apparently they claim this was explained and signed for, but I can confidently say I would have remembered agreeing to a separate loan like that. It’s not something anyone would casually agree to without questioning. Now I’m stuck paying a monthly amount for something that provides me no real value.

The car preparation was also poor. When I arrived to collect it there was grime and spilled dirt all over the front console which they quickly wiped down while I was there. When I got home and looked properly, the car was still filthy — marks everywhere, sticky residue in the cup holders and even a damp smell inside the car.

When I emailed them about this, the response was basically that they “couldn’t see anything” and that I’d have to drive the car two hours back to them so they could decide whether the issue was “substantial enough” for them to do anything about it.

Overall the service was poor, communication was unclear, and the experience felt very misleading. On the surface the company looks professional, but in my experience the reality was very different. I would strongly recommend future buyers read everything extremely carefully and question every additional product before agreeing to anything.

For clarity, the payment made at the time of reservation was a reservation fee. This fee secures the vehicle for you until you are ready to view or collect it. As explained, had you decided not to proceed with the purchase, the full amount would have been refunded to you.

Having reviewed your file, I can confirm that the vehicle was purchased on 6 March 2025. At the point of collection, you initialled and signed the relevant section of our terms and conditions which states: “We are not liable for any cosmetic or aesthetic issues once the vehicle is in your ownership. Please thoroughly check your new vehicle to ensure you are happy prior to leaving site.”

On 19 March 2025 you contacted us regarding the cleanliness of the vehicle. As a gesture of goodwill, we invited you to return so that we could address any concerns you had.

Our records also show that two separate finance agreements were signed: one relating to the vehicle itself and a second agreement for the additional upgrades. Both were E-signs so you should have copies on file but Should you require additional copies of any of the documentation, we would be happy to provide these.

We are sorry that you remain dissatisfied with your experience. However, based on the steps taken and the documentation signed at the time of purchase, we believe we acted appropriately and in good faith throughout the process.

What a wonderful experience

What a wonderful experience… we saw a car online and fell in love with it so drove over to see it - upon arrival we were greeted by Natalie who kindly explained the online buying system they operate which we had totally missed on Autotrader - not because it wasn’t made clear but because we only had eyes for our ‘new car’!

Whist we were unable to see the car itself Natalie took us through the process, the spec and the new additions on the car wheels etc so we agreed the sale and signed on the dotted line with a view to collecting the following week.

A few days after signing had comms from Natalie and colleague Matt to answer any queries we may have. All very professional and concise.

Collection day we inspected the car on arrival, test drove it, signed the forms and then drove away in said new car.

The car was a great example and we are very pleased with it - the process at S JAMES PRESTIGE was very streamlined and we would definitely recommend it, the quality of cars is good and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable.

Thanks Natalie for being patient as we got our heads around everything but we are so glad we did!

Very happy customers

We bought our Mercedes C200 from S James, and it was exactly as described — fantastic value for its pristine condition. Khloe was absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful throughout the whole process.
