SKY Mobile numbers are blocked from calling many European destinations

I ported 2 numbers from Vodafone to Sky and purhased all the extras such as more data and cheaper calls abroad. After some initial hassles, everything seemed to work. But soon I found that I was unable to call several numbers in Europe. After contacting support this was fixed - until I found that I was still unable to call many OTHER numbers abroad. After several tickets and escalations I was told that due to spammers and scammers using SKY SIM cards and numbers to call people, they have blocked "number ranges" on request from foreign operators! So before calling people abroad, you have to raise a support ticket, number by number, to be unblocked - which takes a week to be processed!
Learning: SKY (and probably other cheap operators) are used by criminals, if you get a SIM card from them expect to be treated as if you are one!

Do not trust anything that sky customer…

Do not trust anything that sky customer services or payments tell you. They are all liars and they never know what they have told you from one minute to the next. They dont take notes properly they never do what they have promised. Everything is all lies when it comes to sky. They ARE NO TRUST WORTHY AT ALL.

I’ve been with SKY for over 12yrs and…

I’ve been with SKY for over 12yrs and I’ve never received bad customer service until Monday - I’m still gobsmacked at the rudeness I received from Georgi Staykov I’ve had weeks of my broadband dipping in and out and when I explained this to him, he said I was lying. At first I genuinely thought he was joking around with his comment, but he said I was lying and I was wasting his time!!! He wasn’t willing to help and I demanded he transfer me to somebody else or a manager, he hung up! I’ve put an official complaint in and I’m still awaiting a response.
What on earth has happened to SKY!

Awful, wretched new customer experience

Awful, awful new customer experience. I went for a Sky Q and gigabit fibre broadband on 24 October and the broadband installation was scheduled on 7 Nov and the sky Q engineer for the sky box install on 8 Nov, which is 15 and 16 days respectively.

On the 5th Nov I had an evening email to say there was a problem with my broadband install so when I eventually got through to customer services they said Openreach had reject d the transfer of the line to Sky, but not given a reason why. I pressed for them to contact Openreach to Understand why (in case something needs to be resolved for this to go ahead) but instead I just got brushed off with “we probably think it’s for the reason” and it was then rebooked for 21 November (to which may be cancelled again as they have not provided a reason as to why it was cancelled in the first instance).

On 8th Nov (today), an engineer came out to ‘install’ my sky Q box. After about 2 minutes of being in the property I was told that I needed a special engineer to come out and put a special box in the communal electric cupboard (it’s an apartment block). The ‘special’ engineer has now been rebooked for the 27th November. No apology, no let’s try and see if we can get this done sooner, just nonchalant responses. Having high bandwidth is imperative for my job and now I’m paying a fortune for a mini hub from EE that isn’t even remotely sufficient.

So in summary I’m waiting 28 days for my broadband install (which may or may not go ahead) and 34 days for my Sky Q box to be installed. This is a new customer experience; I truly dread the ongoing customer experience; I’m not sure if I’ll even make it out of the cool-down period without cancelling at this rate

They've changed...

As of 3rd December 2022, when my current contract comes to an end, I shall be requested cancellation of my Sky TV, Broadband and Talk.
I am so so dissapointed with the level of service I have received this week. Sky used to be all about customer service, which they have now obviously outsourced.
At not one point have I been made to feel like my custom is valued today and the “deal” I was offered to stay included no special offers or breakdowns.

Been with sky for years

Been with sky for years. I’ve had broadband, TV and mobile. In September 22 I decided to upgrade my phone. Was told they would give me £140 for old phone. Strangely that was the exact amount I was due to pay on phone. I knew phone was worth more, but for ease I decided to go for that. I sent phone back and on 30 September 22 they sent email saying “ There is faults with phone, we will only offer £72” I said no send it back. They assured me it was and I was still owing them £140 for the contract on that phone. By this time I had paid another month, so now bill to end contract was less, and paid it in full.
On the 21 October 22 we had still not had phone back. My wife phoned Sky to find out what was happening, as the account is in her name. After 12 minutes she was told they had checked with factory and it had been posted out on the 20 October. On the 29 Oct I phoned to see where it was, after having to put wife on phone to confirm who she was ( And she had to give to full password!!!!!) I was finally allowed to ask about phone. It turns out what we were told on 21Oct was absolutely a lie. The factory had ignored our “Send it Back” and had kept the phone and taken it on their books (I think that’s code for sold it) and was also told the phone had screen burn, that in its self is a lie, and obviously making up a story to justify why they said there was a fault.
I told the person on phone “I want my Phone, that I had paid for Back”
I was told someone would phone me back within 2 working days. Today the third working day they phoned. They said “Am I speaking to account holder” I replied “ No but hang on you will be” at which point they hung up.
So they are an organisation that is disjointed and the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. Phone paid for in full but they still manager to steal phone off me and sell it.
Theft is theft and seeking legal advice.
Avoid at all costs

I see they do not answer any reviews left, I take it no response confirms their at fault

I have had an nightmare dealing with Sky! I paid to have my telephone socket moved as was getting new windows fitted, this is the only part of the process that worked, they took money same day! The day for engineer came and went, I stayed in, no one showed up, apparently, they were on strike, but Sky wasn't aware, so rescheduled for 15 days later, had to postpone my windows getting fitted, new date comes no engineer! another round of calls to Sky and a week later I still don't have a resolution.

Sky broadband …….”excellent customer…

Sky broadband …….”excellent customer service” their website states. I beg to differ. Waited in all day for the engineer to come and do the install. Phoned Sky - one and a half hours later we’re told that there was no one available so they couldn’t come out. No phone, no text, no email and no apology = no new customer.

Please avoid Sky!!

I beg you not to join Sky, they are horrendous. They are overpriced and you can get all channels much cheaper now through streaming channels. Their website has been slow for years and their customer service reps try to add things onto an order cheekily that you haven't even asked for and you have to correct them mid-way through the call. Save yourself time, money and hassle and try elsewhere.

As posted by many

As posted by many, many people sky customer services are basically liars and con artists. ALWAYS ask for written confirmation from sky ( text's or emails ). Archive any written confirmations, to cover yourselves legally. Verbal agreements with sky on the phone are worthless. As an existing sky broadband customer I was offered the new sky stream ( puck ) for a special offer price of £15pm and no £20 charge for the puck box, on the phone. I asked for written confirmation and was assured I would receive a text, which I never received. All I received were Emails confirming a delivery date for the streaming box(puck ) I then phoned sky customer services and informed them I would refuse delivery as I still hadn't received written confirmation of the special offer. Surprise, surprise I then received a text stating they couldn't honour the original special offer and they were sorry, yeah right. The special offer has now been removed from my sky app. They give customers false offers/promises. When my Broadband contact finishes, I'll shall leave sky. Be careful folks.

I have been a customer for many years…

I have been a customer for many years but what has happened recently has shocked me. I am now in my second week without a phone line or internet. Not Sky’s fault, the water company cut through a cable, however I have been informed that I can only get updates about the repair via Sky. I cannot get through and when an advisor returned my call via text I was advised to go on the Sky Community Forum to find out when my repair will be completed !!!
Yes !!! I have been told to ask other customers what is happening with my repair.
You could not find a more ridiculous suggestion if you tried.

I don't want a gigantic tv screen dominating my small lounge! The minimum size Sky glass tv, (they call it small) is 43inches.
In modern houses rooms are getting smaller, but tv's are getting bigger!
Not everyone lives and breathes tv and wants one big enough for their lives to revolve around it.

All these 1* reviews and no response from sky! It says it all

I have had a full fibre broadband and landline outage with Sky for 24 days now.

I totally understand that the problem is not a Sky problem, but it’s external…Openreach are required to do the work - The whole area is out of service.

However, what I am not happy about is the service Sky have given me as a loyal customer, in comparison to the service my neighbours have had with their 3 providers…. BT, EE and plusnet.

After several telephone conversations I have had to make TO Sky to get progress on the fix.. my BT and EE neighbours have all had regular “un-solicited” updates from their providers .. basically keeping them in the loop on the fault.

Myself? Sky keeps radio silent unless I get in touch with them.

To make matters worse, my BT and EE neighbours have all been given FREE 4G routers with unlimited download data so they can at least stay connected in this downtime.

Both myself and my partner have totally lost the ability to work from home, which has been horrendous in the current climate as it has become a requirement of our companies,

And most galling of all, all 3 suppliers, BT, EE and PLUSNET have ALL waived this month’s monthly fee. But NOT sky.

We are all covered by the ofgem auto compensation fund, which is great. …. But whereas my neighbours can take FULL advantage of this compensation for the disruption to their service and lifestyle…… I have to accept that a portion of my compensation is to be used to pay SKY for (at this point in time) at least full month’s worth of “non-service” provided.

After a prolonged phone call today to enquire about progress on the fix and asking to waive this month’s charge , I was explicitly told this was NOT SKY’s policy.. and I had to pay for a service that I wasn’t getting. Eventhough the guy on the phone totally understood my argument, he stated that I have to use my compensation payed FROM Sky… to actually PAY them! Utterly ridiculous!!

I asked him to lodge a complaint which he said he would, and would eventually get back in touch with me.

3 hours later I had a call back from the same guy…… with HIM asking ME why he was ringing!!!??! Very reminiscent of the day I reported the problem in the first place … 5 days later Sky rang me asking ME for progress on the fix!!!!

Having asked if I was able to leave them as a supplier..; I was told I would have to pay £90 for the privilege.

What they didn’t tell me was that if the outage lasts another 6 days (30 days in total). ..… 0fgem rules state I can leave them free of charge!.

MY ADIVCE, from comparisons with all of my neighbour…… switch from Sky to either BT or EE … I will be doing exactly that next week.
