Excellent range of gifts in the Portree shop. Love the candles - great range of scents and a treat to buy something locally made. Staff are always friendly and helpful too, even when rushed off their feet.

We visited the Skye Candle Company in early June. The shop is lovely, spacious and well laid out. I bought a lemongrass reed diffuser, which had a beautiful smell, probably the best lemon room scent I have found. The diffuser was well packaged and survived the long journey back to the Midlands. However, due partly to a misunderstanding on my part, I had an issue with the diffuser. I contacted Customer service and my concern was dealt with pleasantly and promptly. Things do occasionally go wrong and the important thing is how the company responds. I thoroughly recommend Skye Candle Company and will definitely buy their products in future.

I visited Glasgow yesterday and went into this lovely shop. The amount of different scents are amazing and it did many beautiful gift ideas too. The lady who served me was very pleasant and knowledgeable which for me just completed the whole experience

I was in on holiday with my bf and bought two wildflowers diffusers, omg is it absolutely stunnin! the lassie that served us was dead nice, her name was Megan she's a wee smiler so she is! Didn't know they had a shop in Glasgow, we live in Paisley so will def be visiting next time we're through.

Ordered 2 reed diffusers. Absolutely no smell from the first one. Haven’t opened the second one as yet. Contacted the company and was given a long lecture on the “correct” way of using. As if I didn’t know!!
Even turning the reeds every day hasn’t made any difference. I won’t be buying from this Company again.
Lots of other good choices out there with excellent customer service but sadly, not this one!!

I did not buy any candles however I did purchase a book in the shop on Skye, the girl at the till asked if I’d like a bag so I said yes thinking well I’m on the island for a few days it will be reused . However it was a small cardboard gift bag certainly not suitable for anything else the book only just fitted in it. I then asked for a receipt to be told we do not do till roll receipts as we are saving the environment so could she have my email address. NO I do not give out my email address .
So they don’t use till roll but in the ladies toilets they have paper towels, how many paper towels are used compared to till roll, I guess they don’t recycle paper towels my receipts all end up being checked against my statements kept for 6 months then shredded. Don’t give me this rubbish about saving the environment, what are going to be happening to all these windmills that are supplying your electricity when they need replacing, I understand everyone trying to do their bit but try to be honest.

Have visited the restaurant quite often and the service has always been very good however the last time the food was overcooked and didn’t get a apology just my money back for my meal not my wife’s meal so I sat and waited for her to finish.
I should have known this time I thought I would try something different we managed to get sat down and waited and waited three other couples served before us. I just stood up to walk out and was told I will be a few minutes to take your order I expected something but I think what I find is that no one really cares about the customer here they just do not seem to be bothered if you complain or not. I feel ashamed as a local person living on Skye that is has come to this. The attitude to fellow people has to change. Does anyone else feel this way.

I can't help laughing at the review that states Skye CANDLES is the worst place to eat. I do not think they recommend eating the candles, lovely as they are. Haha! Must be referring to the miserable cafe next door, Shiiiaaaaaa or similar, really quite terrible. Anyway, back to the candles.

Fantastic quality. They are delightfully presented and we were happy to pick up some recently from the local shop in Glenelg and then from the factory on Skye (next to the terribly cafe with the pretentious titles) when visiting our friends. Always a nice gift.

What a terrible place to eat. The supervisor at lunch today is awful. Seriously, get your steps in tubby. And touching my plate where food is going? Whaaaat? Really needs demoting and training. What a nasty attitude to customers. Get rid of her. Awful experience.

After leaving the reed diffuser for two hours, no scent came out of it. A complete waste of money. No wonder this item was on offer.

The company told me I must not have trimmed the wick (which I did) then ghosted me
With the shattering they said it was because you’re not supposed to burn them til the end

Candles are good, they must be new the online service is poor

They smell amazing unfortunately the candles burn down very quickly and the reed diffuser was finished within 2 months, I have had other good quality diffusers last for 1.5 years smaller quantity.

Their candles smell lovely and I’ve always had brilliant service when ordering online. Everything is so well packed. Definitely recommend if you are looking for good candles at a reasonable price.

I popped in the store while I was in Edinburgh. My last day there and I had time to kill. Ended up spending half an hour there, talking to the nicest employee, actually one of the guys who makes the candles. Funny and kind, he recommended me his favourite of the candles, which I bought, and then he send me off to a garden he let me know would not be flooded with tourists. Made my day.

Absolutely amazing store with very kind and accommodating staff. I fell in love with the scent and am looking forward to using it during my first pregnancy. They seem to really have a scent for everyone. Finding a scent that I really like is one thing but knowing what great people work behind it brings its specialness to a whole new level!
Would recommend to everyone not just for their amazing quality candles but also for the people that work behind them :)

Beautiful quality product. Lovely strong aroma.

Probably the nicest candles I've ever had. The fragrance is strong but not overly so and lasts for ages so you don't have to keep the candle lit all evening. Will be my go-to for scented candles now! Lovely company to deal with too.

My family are fairly regular shoppers at Skye Candle and I can quite honestly say I have nothing negative to say about this company. Their candles are incredible and we're seldom in short supply. Every member of staff we have ever encountered (in Skye, Edinburgh, Glasgow and more) have always been extremely friendly and helpful, always up for a small chat and keen to help with any enquiries. The wide variety of scents are great and I'm yet to find one I dont like. The candles use soy wax which means less smoking/smoke marks on your ceiling and walls and also feels great on your skin, if you cant help but play with the wax on your hand.
Skye candles also recycle their containers so if you give them a wee wash and return them they can be used again (and they even provide you with a little discount if you purchase more) what a great way to save money and lower your carbon footprint.
Honestly, what is not to love?

Lovely candle. It looks luxurious and the scent is amazing. It was fast delivery too even though I had an email informing me that they were functioning with fewer staff than usual due to COVID. Delivery was free and although the candle itself was a bit pricier than I usually pay, I am happy that it is hand made and clean, being made from soy wax.
I will definitely buy from them again .
