I've had sky stream and glass for…

I've had sky stream and glass for around 1 week and tbh the whole system is terrible. I will phone in the morning and cancel because I'm still in my 31 day cooling off period !!!
keeps glitching , quality is terrible , don't even bother if you want to watch live sport ..... you miss half the games and commentary is not in speed with the footage!!!
you also can't record and it works on a separate system to sky q so you lose all use of the other boxes!!!!
worst product I've ever had from sky !!!

Terrible product

Terrible product. Interface far to complex when all you want to do is watch TV. Constantly dropping out. Have to switch the power off after using an app to get back to normal TV. Sky not willing to help in any way.

Dreadful

DREADFUL! Without a doubt the worst TV/cable/satellite system I’ve ever used. The only positive is the price but I’d rather pay for something that works.
It’s completely unstable and has daily glitches.
You can’t record tv, it only saves a link not a specific point in a show.

Sky Stream - Totally Gruesome

Totally Gruesome. Can’t believe how bad this is. The ‘Playlist’ method of recording programs just doesn’t work. As an avid football watcher, it is hugely disappointing to find that you can’t break off in the middle of matches and re-start (if you can find it!), without seeing the final scores. After the delights of Sky Q, this is a serious backwards step. Avoid if you can!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. Do not switch. If you have Sky Q keep it. I fell for the Sky stream and can no longer go back to Sky Q. Sky is finished if they think they can move over to this service.

Horrendous

Horrendous. Sky Q was infinitely better.
App issues.
Lag.
Constantly needs unplugging and restarting.
Can’t record tv.
Doesn’t have the channels Q had.
Poor interface with slow response.
Voices not matching sound on screen.
Pause only lasts 15-30 minutes so if you get a call etc, you’ll have to either watch it and rewind or go to the relevant app and playback that way, if the program has been made available to do so yet.
The list is endless.
In short, don’t bother. Virgin media are absolute garbage but this is worse. Sadly, the two big providers have monopolised the market so not much option.
It’s also a nightmare to get out of. I thought this would be the best option. Cheaper than VM and lots more perks, but the actual service is mediocre and the available channels are woeful.
Stick to your subscription apps.

Poor quality product.

I've had the sky stream puck for a few days now first day it was ok but after that it just freezes often accompanied by no sound and grey screen. It shouldn't be doing that when my broadband speeds are 500mbps max.

New subscriber terrible glitchy unacceptable picture

New subscriber. Experiencing glitches with the picture freezing and pixelating straight off the bat which should not be happening. There is no issue with my broadband or connection and plenty of reports about this online. It seems due to the way Sky Stream is set up which means that depending on which server Sky chooses to serve your stream from and server load it can't seem to keep up. A bit like what used to happen with calls failing to connect on New Year's eve when everyone is using it. This feels like cost cutting an building under capacity to save money to me. Reports online about this problem seem to be found going back a few years so it clearly isn't a priority for them to fix vs gaining new customers.

The worst system we have ever had in our house hold, a total embarrassment. Hard to believe sky could roll out and still leave in service such a terrible unreliable system. To think how much we pay for this rubbish 🤦‍♂️

Sky poor!

I've been using this for a year now and I can honestly say this is the worst tv service ever. When my contract runs out, I won't be renewing. What's terrible is your can't record. If there's a movie that's not on a sky channel i.e. film4 you can't record it and watch it later. The user interface is very frustrating to use and glitchy. The remote control... well let's say they've decided to design the world's most slippery remote possible

Good on it’s day, has may bad days.

As a concept, Sky Stream is good. When the software and hardware are having a good day, Sky Stream is good. But it’s incredibly unreliable. It regularly freezes. It often does this odd thing where it’s time stamps and planner don’t update, so it’ll still think it’s 7:31am when it’s 8pm. Watching apps (football on Discovery+ etc.) can be jumpy and jerky - or may just not load the image. Sound can drop. Occasionally, it just doesn’t turn on. The only remedy is to unplug the power and leave for 30s. This is at least a monthly task.

Sky Stream 2.0 that is reliable, well built and has computing power to match would be very welcome. They need to persevere with this - it could be great. But my goodness, living with it day in, day out, can be so frustrating.

Do not get it

Sky steam is truly terrible. Constant glitches, loss of sound, random shut downs, trouble loading programmes, the list goes on. Sky even upgraded my internet to full fibre from super fast to encourage me to get sky stream after leaving sky q. The full fibre is arguably worse than the super fast also. I never experienced buffering with super fast but it’s on and off with their full fibre

Stop selling this to the problems are rectified.

I can’t believe Sky have the nerve to charge customers for this product!! I was a Sky Q customer for 6 years had no issues. I changed to Sky stream shortly after moving home. It’s terrible!! it worked fine for the first week to two weeks max. It’s now constantly out of sync, keeps saying waiting for programs to load I’ve called Sky and done hard reboots on the sky stream box which works for a few hours before it goes back out sync. I am fed up with it…Sky are completely miss leading customers by selling this they clearly know there’s issues. I feel so let down by them.

Junk!

Junk!

Will be cancelling the moment the contract ends. The user interface is SLOOOOOOWWWW and very clunky. Sound often drops out for a second. It offers very little above having Apple TV or even relying on your TV’s built in apps features. It’s an extra bill each month that gives you very little on basic package and upgrade gives 30 channels of rubbish extra! Movie channels are too expensive and moat films are old or can be found on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

My advice is to swerve this monstrosity. SkyQ was good but simply too damned expensive and this is not a viable alternative. Sky Glass makes no sense…who in their right mind is buying that service…naff TV with naff Sky box built in. Nonsense!
