Stay away if you have a workers compensation claim . I went long periods where I had no lawyer cause my lawyer had left and they failed to tell me this I would be sending emails with no response obviously cause I had no one representing my case then happened three times. On another occasion they failed to lodge critical forms by the due dates .On another occasion I was given a lawyer he told me don't worry im the captain , when I asked him have had a reply from the insurance company he told me no we are awaiting for a reply that was June I retouched base with him in the October again he stated no still awaiting a reply I stressed my concerns and he dismissed them , in the December I rung him only to be told his number had be disconnected so again this lawyer had left , he knew he was leaving and never informed me .I rung the head office and expressed my anger made another complaint to their complaint system this was the third one I had made about their conduct and the way my case was being neglected. In January I recieved a email informing that they had found a section 78 notice on my file from the April the year prior , so I had been lied to and miss led , they had missed the time line for taking my case in to the court to have it sorted . I had put in several complaints about the way my case had been dragged out and missed timeliness, missed dates , lies that I had been given . They had my case for nearly 4 years and did nothing I had take my case to another lawyer and start again now im in the 5th year and trying to get in to court my weekly payments are about to cease .This case should be dealt with better they wrong thing by myself , no apology for all the errors nothing !!!!!!!!! Just disgraceful

While struggling to deal with the DVA system on my own I faced a hostile process from the hired guns of medico-legal experts that challenged my case for Permanent Impairment. The stress they caused made me abandon my claim.
Some years later I came across a Productivity Commission hearing and took particular notice to the submission by Brian Briggs, a Military Compensation specialist from Slater and Gordon. Brian knew his stuff.
I contacted Brian at S&G and he made himself available and listened to my experience with the DVA claims system. Brian was honest and upfront in advising that it would not be a quick process and he was not wrong, the wheels of DVA moved very slowly.
Brian and Pia Annan-Anderson from the Military Compensation section of S&G did an outstanding job in taking care of my claim from start to finish. I was always kept up to date and informed of each process in the claim either by Pia personally or through the other members of her team Ashleigh Cutler and Emma Brailak who continued to provide a First-Class service.
The team at Slater and Gordon went above and beyond from what I was expecting from a No Win No Fee service and the end result for me was nothing short of life changing.
I highly recommend Brian and Pia to anyone who needs advice and guidance in Military Compensation claims.

Second review I've given these people. Just don't use them for workers compensation claims. Complete amateurs. My case has been nothing short of a shambles. 7 months later and I still don't have a satisfactory medical report to use. If I could change lawyers I would.

Brian and his team was recommended to me by one of my service members and all I can say is WOW! His team is professional, trustworthy, honest and simply don’t beat around the bush when it comes to providing help to you. I am extremely happy with the results and I will absolutely recommend them in the future.

I've reached out to contact the S and G team nine times throughout this year. This has been undertaken through their portal channel, email, online customer portal and by phone, and received no communication in return. I was informed that it would take three weeks for the Class action team to respond. This deadline came and went with no response
Instead of having a communication team to contact, the class action team is effectively unavailable, and the call centre staff can provide nothing on ways to get in contact or escalate a call. I understand though its clearly not in the team's remit to speak for the class action team, a EFFECTIVE way to escalate this would be a minimum standard.
Additionally instead of listening and responding with clear solutions or time frames, they dismiss or end call without providing any information.
At this point I'd need to clarify the amount of hours, money, people being used on the case, and its efficacy.
Brian Briggs, Military Compensation Solicitor
My daughter and I have been clients of Brian for many years. He is an absolute professional and so easy to deal with. His knowledge of Military Compensation is second to none. It has been a pleasure to know you Brian and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your care, support and experience.

The team at Slater and Gordon have been great to deal with over the last 4 years of my Military Compensation claim.
All my questions and concerns were responded to extremely quickly with accurate and professional advice.
Teegan Head in particular was amazing to deal with and consistently followed up with me. When time critical matters came up on a Friday afternoon she didn't delay at all with making sure I was taken care of and chasing the relevant people up for me.

I had interaction over a 4 year period mainly with Teegan Head & Jessica Dixon, over the 4 year period they always acted in a extremally high professional manor.
They were both honest and easy approachable if I had any problems or questions then they were always there with the relevant answers which helped me thorough this extremely frustrating time in dealing with DVA.
They were both always courteous and very thorough with their guidance and advice, I would not have been able to reach the outcome that I di without the support and understanding of both Teegan & Jessica.
Thank you for all your time and effort that you both put in over the 4 year period that I was your client.
Sam Greenwood.
I was diagnosed with black lung in September 2020 and Shawn has just got it finalised in Oct 2023,3 years, well done Shawn. From my first conversations with Shawn I was filled with confidence and asurity of a good out come. Shawn realy did give me the feeling that he was working in the best interest of me. He was very prompt with his communication and never left me pondering what was going on,very professional attitude. Never left me with false hopes and exsplained everything at a level that I could understand. The outcome at the end says it all,and in 3 years, I take my hat off to you Shawn, your professionalism was greatly appreciated. And at the end of the day your estimates were achieved, I could not ask for a better result. But let's face it ,you couldn't have done it without Bronte. Yes Bronte, another one that conducts herself with the utmost professionalism. The 654 times that I range her she was always 110% ,a pleasure dealing with you Bronte, you always had the right answers for me, and you always got back to me promptly if you didn't have the answer. A very good team to have when dealing with the most important situation in my working career. Thankyou all for your professionalism ,I realy did feel that you,s were working in the best interest of my little self. THANKYOU.

Hey there,
Just wanted to drop a quick note about my experience with Brian Briggs and his team at Slater and Gordon Lawyers, especially Teegan Head. I recently worked with them on my Military Compensation claim. Right from the start, it was clear why Brian's got such a great rep in this field.
Honestly, the whole Military Compensation thing can be super confusing, but Brian made it feel like a breeze. He's super passionate about what he does, and you can feel that in the way he handles things - with so much care and attention to detail.
It's not every day you come across lawyers who not only know their stuff inside out but also genuinely care. Teegan and the team were on point throughout, making sure I was always clued in.
If any fellow veterans are looking for someone to guide them through Military Compensation claims, I can't recommend Brian and his team at Slater and Gordon enough. They've got the know-how and the heart - a combo that's hard to find.
Cheers!

I am delighted to share my experience with Slater and Gordon in handling my DVA claims. While the process took some time, it's understandable given the significant number of veterans in need who have served our great country. From the very beginning, I knew that I needed professionals well-versed in the intricate details of this legislation. Instead of choosing an RSL advocate, I decided to go with Slater and Gordon after conducting thorough research and consulting with other law firms. I particularly appreciate their fixed fee arrangement, as most other law firms were charging 30% or more, which was quite alarming.
Admittedly, I had some initial reservations about this firm, mainly due to the complexity of my case and my limited knowledge of the various aspects of my claims. However, my scepticism quickly dissipated after my first interaction with Brian Briggs, who introduced himself as a Military Compensation Lawyer. Brian came across as genuinely concerned, upfront, and honest. His transparency put me at ease, and I knew I was in good hands.
Brian introduced me to Pia Annan-Anderson, who would be the solicitor responsible for overseeing my claims, along with her legal assistant, Ashleigh Cutler, Pia also a dedicated Military Compensation Lawyer. Pia and Ash exhibited the highest level of professionalism, unparalleled expertise, and remarkable efficiency throughout the entire process.
I now place my complete trust in Slater and Gordons Military Compensation Lawyers for any future claims related to military compensation. If you are a veteran who feels lost or overwhelmed in the maze of DVA claims, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Pia a call. They live up to their word in every aspect and are dedicated to assisting veterans. Slater and Gordon has proven to be a reliable and compassionate partner, and I am immensely grateful for their support in securing a favourable outcome for my DVA claims. Thank you Pia for your outstanding service.

If you're an ADF Veteran seeking the very best legal representation regarding your DVA claim, don't hesitate, just make the call to Brian Briggs, Teegan Head and rest of the team at Slater & Gordon.
The claims process can at times can be frustrating, lengthy and confusing, however Brian's incredibly in-depth knowledge of legislation, easy and supportive manner will put you at ease throughout. My only regret is not having called Brian and his team sooner post discharge from the ADF.
I'd like to personally thank Brian, Teegan and the troops at Slater & Gordon for doing what you do so well and helping Veterans when they need it most.
