Hi Walter, sorry that you found the ENER-J Bulbs tricky to set up. The Sync should be seamless. Regarding the colour and white being washed out - please check out all the different options on the ENERJ Smart App. We have had no queries or negative feedback from all of the other customers. On the app, you can choose Bright to Warm White and anywhere in between and also you can vary the brightness from 0-100%. It takes a bit of playing around to understand the functionality.
