unprofessional and rude
I visited Smarteyes for the advertised offer (eye test for 500 SEK, deductible when buying 2-for-1 glasses). On my first visit, the staff member explained everything clearly, and I completed the test. As i had to leave and did not time to select the frame. I was told to return the next day to select frames.
When I returned the following day, I was treated very differently. I was made to wait without explanation, and when I asked questions, I was not properly answered. I noticed another customer being treated in a friendly and attentive way during the same period.
While attending me, the staff asked dateofbirth, i said in DDMMYY. She loudly said date of birth and now i said YYMMDD. Then she was like 4 digit. So i asked is it personal number she was asking. She was no date of birth. I asked what is the 4 digit then. I was careful and confirming before saying personalnumber.
When I tried to clarify what information was being requested (about “four digits”), the staff member became visibly irritated, rolled her eyes, and told me why dont i learn Swedish. I just said i choose not to answer. I found this unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially as I was trying to understand and cooperate.
Because of this, I left without completing my purchase, even though I had already paid 500 SEK for the eye test. I had to print my results and plan to use them elsewhere.
I hope Smarteyes reviews how staff communicate with customers, particularly those who are not fluent in Swedish, to ensure fair and respectful treatment.
