Why so LOUD?
Food was nice enough but extremely overpriced. Mac and cheese £24 Coca Cola £5. Entertainment was a guy miming (badly) and excruciatingly loud, like … blaring. Deafening. Why? None of us could hear ourselves think. Not a pleasant experience, will not go back.
Service too slow. Overpriced
Arrived to be told only one server. Waited for every part of our dining. Food was luke warm when it arrived. Coeliac son was given bun with burger, despite asking for bun less!
Needed to flag down server for sweet menu. The only time they payed any attention was towards the end, although still waited for bill and ended up going to till to pay.
Two course meal took nearly 3 hours. Wasn’t worth the money either
Would never return

The lady serving was pleasant but that’s as good as it got.
I ordered the new Yorker burger it was best part of £20 so more than 5 guys more than smash burger more than gourmet burger kitchen and was nothing compared to them a very average tasting burger probably a frozen burger but not certain just bland and nothing special at all definitely not worth near £20
Milk shake was small and tasted like a jar of double cream Mac and cheese was tasteless nothing amazing. My mum had fajitas and I tried one it was bang average very on par with a kit you get in a supermarket again not worth the price tag at all. So we gave it a try but won’t be in a hurry to go again verdict over price for a very bang average meal

DISGUSTING
DISGUSTING
We have been coming to the restaurant for more than 20 years for family celebrations we came today for my daughter’s 6th birthday family meal. Firstly the wait was a long time
For drinks in a barely busy restaurant.
Our food arrives and there were a couple of beard hairs in my burger .. the manager Jacob come over and persisted to argue with me insisting they were leeks.. I’ve never seen a black leek before. I had to Inforce there was hair in my meal that I hadn’t even taken a bite from! His attitude towards our family was disgusting how on earth he is management, representing this business is beyond me. I have only ever had great things to say about this restaurant but I will not be returning after this experience unfortunately you have lost a loyal customer. Then to top it off when the staff sang to my daughter they called her a different name even after confirming to them at the host desk and just before they proceed to light the candles.. ridiculous!!

We went to the Chichester branch for a birthday meal before bowling. Unfortunately it was the worst experience I’ve had so far.
Onion ring stack had someone’s hair ravelled on the second to last onion ring. Main dishes came out at inconsistent times with 10-15 mins between the first two arriving at the table, which isn’t on!
Two of our medium rare steaks were like cutting through rubber which was weird and we weren’t the only customers to complain about their steak. And worst of all after spending over 100 pounds on this sham of a birthday meal they didn’t add my reward points like I asked. Absolute joke!
I wrote to smith and western to let them know about this ordeal to no response. That’s how much they care about their unsatisfied customers that have been many times before.
Very Welcoming
Me and my family went for an evening meal last night.I am a regular and I find it very welcoming.I really like the stylish ambiance and traditional country music. It has a real carefree vibe. The American/ Mexican food is delicious and the portions are hearty enough for me.
Our South African waiter last night was super attentive and amusing in his swoop upon approach to us yet I did not mind that. All the staff who have served us are really friendly and they talk to us like our friends.A robust service too.Stylish.Its like TGI Fridays but Cowboy themed. If anyone likes American style, come here.Very un British just the way I like it
Incorrect information
Upon arriving at the Chichester restaurant we asked to go to the upper level were we have always gone on our previous visits. We were told by the Lady at the desk that we didn’t want to go up there as there was a party of 50 people about to arrive and it would be very noisy upon the upper level.
We were shown to a table in the middle of several adults and children’s birthday parties. Obviously extremely noisy and indeed at times we were unable to hear each other speak.
Having been told there was a half hour wait for food our starters appeared within 10 mins, even in fact before we had got our drinks. Having finished our starters we waited 50 minutes and actually had to inquire about our main course. Which then appeared quite promptly.
The really aggravating thing was that from our table we could see the upper dining level and in the two and a half hours we were there. The upper level never had more than about five people sitting up there.
It might appear that customers were actually discouraged from going to the upper level were they could dine in peace and serenity. Perhaps the staff don’t wish to carry food and drinks to the upper level ?
If we go again and l am refused to be able to dine upstairs l will turn around and walk out.
IS ADDLESTONE RESTAURANT THE BEST IN THE COMPANY ?
Visited ADDLESTONE restaurant 24/02/25 at 15.00 with friends for a get together and a meal !
KATIE greeted us as we walked in and fight from the very first minute SHE was on fire ! Very cheerful and polite but loads of welcoming personality made the whole experience one to really remember.
KATIE was excellent at her job and regularly checked if we were happy and enjoying the experience !
The timing at 15.00 was perfect from our POV as the lunchtime diners had left and the dinner’s hadn’t yet started.
The ORDER was placed with KATIE and the drinks and meal which followed the starters was competitively priced and the deals were very good …..
ALL the food was amazing ! It was hot and very tasty as was the sweet.
The Western theme was the best I have ever experienced.
The entire visit was a great one and obviously reflects the excellent Management of the Restaurant !!!
We will be back…
100%
Great surroundings, food, service & entertainment. Visited the Lingfield establishment from out of town (Norfolk) on January 3rd 2025. Staff welcoming & most helpful & obliging, all wearing western themed outfits. The food & drinks orders were quickly taken & fulfilled. Good food well prepared & cooked. The country music duo “On the main street”? Were great. Lots of Nashville numbers. The evening went too quickly. We’ll be back!!
NOT dog friendly..
I visited Smith & Western in Crawley (Tilgate) under the impression that they are dog-friendly, but I was left very disappointed. Inside, there are only two bar tables in a tiny space allocated for people with dogs. If both tables are occupied, dogs are forced to sit uncomfortably close to each other, creating a recipe for disaster. Additionally, there are two more tables located in a cramped corridor leading to the toilets—hardly ideal with constant foot traffic and little room to maneuver.
To make matters worse, these tables are not reserved exclusively for dog owners. Even if the rest of the restaurant is empty, the dog-designated tables are often taken by guests without dogs, meaning dog owners are turned away entirely. The only other table suitable for dogs inside is usually taken as well because it’s open to anyone.
As for outside seating, it’s even more frustrating. While you might think you can dine outdoors with your dog, they often keep the outdoor area closed if they feel it’s “too cold,” even if you’re happy to sit there. This means you’re turned away yet again.
Overall, it feels like dogs are not genuinely welcome here, despite their claims of being dog-friendly. I would not recommend this place for anyone looking to dine with their furry companion.
Misleading for Gluten free
As a coeliac in can be very difficult eating out. When looking at the smith and western menu it is labelled very well but when it came down to it also very misleading. I ordered a burger which can be made gluten free and comes with fries for £18 which is not cheap. When the burger comes up there is no bun at all. Their version of gluten free is just to take away the buns so now you are paying £18 for even less but at no point was this explained on the menu.
Went to the Tilgate Crawley S&W
Went to the Tilgate Crawley branch on Thursday evening (29/11/24) for my Mrs birthday. We have been celebrating her birthday there for a few years.
On arriving we found the path to be dangerously icy. I mentioned this to the chap that greeted us, he was very dismisive of my concerns staiting signs had been placed. When i looked the signs were not on the path but to the side and were cordened off.
Food wise two of our dishes were fine, but the third our daughters was spiced to the point of being inedible. Its the same Fajita dish she always has.
The wait time was very long for all the dishes, and to be honest the prices were very high.
All in all a real disapointment. We will not eat there again.

Had a great night and the Smith and Western in Chichester! Great live music, fab food and lovely cocktails. Atmosphere was brilliant. Harry our server was first class!!!
Great fun!
This was my first visit to a Smith and Western restaurant and hotel.
The rooms are really nice: clean, comfortable, attractive, and well-appointed. Obviously very quirky too, with a wild west theme!
The staff are all absolutely lovely. I have dietary restrictions and they went out of their way to accommodate these, even going to Sainsbury's next door to get me some breakfast items!
We ate in the restaurant once for dinner and had breakfast each morning. The food was good, freshly made and well-presented. Lots of meat, of course, but they do offer vegetarian and vegan options.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay!
The best themed hotel in Kent!!
This is a hotel I have returned to often over the years. There are a small number of rooms so the service is more personal - the rooms are reasonably priced and you get a huge perfect power shower. The staff are all young, fun and very friendly. The hotel is fantastically themed - if you like country and western music they have live singers and events. Perfect venue for large parties - just for breakfast, lunch or dinner - you don’t have to stay the night to book the restaurant. There is a large prison you can book for a large party! They have all the props too - cowboy hats etc. Food portions are very generous and the drinks menu offer cocktails and beers. It’s a very easy going accommodating hotel and the restaurant that is highly recommended - a must stay at Tunbridge Wells. In town there’s a variety of book shops, great charity shops - I found a ton of bargains, a Gin Bar, art galleries, pubs and if you like Thai - the Giggling Squid is a must!

The establishment is beautiful however the treatment was awful. My treatment was totally different from everyone else. I was not shocked because I have been experiencing such since I have moved to the UK. I pretended that the awful treatment wasn't happening to see where it stops. Sadly it didn't. I would never spend another quid there and I would not recommend anyone to use the facility.
Yummy
We had a family, birthday meal at Smith & Western in Addlestone, Surrey today. Everyone enjoyed their meals as always, however it was the welcome we had from Shannon that started the visit with a friendly laugh and the waitress Holly served us with speed, a friendly smile and explained the choices well. We all had an awesome time and will visit again. Thank you.
