A refreshing experience from end to end. For my sins, I tend to shop mostly for things like this on places like Amazon or eBay - mainly because of price. I’ll always choose an independent retailer if they can match (or get anywhere close to) the price, quality, and speed. As it happens , I found S&S on the first page of Google. The site is clean, simple and easy to use. The product listings are populated with content (a shocking rarity for many retailers) that was actually helpful. Pictures, descriptions, technical info the lot. And the price, it was actually cheaper than comparable products I found elsewhere. The checkout was modern, secure and fast (props for staying with the times and using a checkout experience like Shop). Ordering was a breeze. Following that, the email comms were great - including dispatch updates and tracking info to boot. Can’t ask for more. Will definitely come back to Snape and Sons in the future.

Good value, communication and quick delivery. One big downside for me was the condition of the bags of compost on arrival. When I took the black plastic wrapping off in my hallway, dirty water poured out onto the carpet. I expect compost to be damp, but this was absolutely saturated. Guess it had been stored outside in the rain. I wouldn't let this put me off buying again but I will unpack outside next time!!

Mostly the communication. When part of my order was out of stock I was given choices - a refund or wait for stock to come in. I chose the later and it didn't take too long. Would definitely recommend. Feels like a good, solid family run business online
