Best price for the LP I wanted

Best price for the LP I wanted.
Previous reviews written honestly made me panic but I shouldn’t have been so worried. I emailed to ask when I should expect the LP to arrive and communication was no issue - was informed it had already dispatched. The LP arrived safely within two days and was packaged up incredibly well. Thrilled with my purchase and consumer experience. Thank you.

Not trustworthy

Paid for two SACD and never received them.
Items were listed as in stock.
I emailed six times but never got a reply.
Eight months later I doubt this is a properly run business.
My money is gone, no CDs received, and never any answer to my emails.
Update Dec 2021 : Received one CD. Still waiting on the other one. Not convinced that COVID can be blamed for the delays and slack communication, when other sellers stretching from the UK to Argentina, Germany to Japan, China and USA are able to send out products, or communicate within a reasonable time to advise about any issues.

Buyers Beware Even If You Have An Established Relationship

Despite having an established relationship, having placed orders for records with a value of over £2,500 in the last 12 months, when it came to returning a faulty UltraDisc One record the only way to get a refund was to make a claim through my Barclaycard VISA and let them deal with Scott. All my emails were ignored for three weeks and forget about the phone numbers on his website.

Scott eventually responded 3 weeks after he received the record back from me (recorded delivery), saying "1.21am SATURDAY night & still working............sole trader ( just me ).........." etc.

Despite where the goods are not of satisfactory quality I should not lose out financially under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, please note Barclaycard will not reimburse you the cost of posting the item back.

In future I will be using alternative suppliers for my records and pay a little extra, as my time dealing with an incompetent sole trader is more precious to me than saving a few quid.

I would recommend to anyone using Snvinyl that where items have a value over £100 you pay using a credit card thereby receiving protection, you photograph any defects, if necessary you returning recorded delivery and put everything in writing - all of which your credit card company will ask for should you need to make a claim, which incidentally is a very easy quick process completing a form online.

I wrote a hesitatingly positive review…

I wrote a hesitatingly positive review a few months ago as I felt that one ought to give an independent retailer the benefit of the doubt.

However, it is very obvious that Messrs Nangle, whoever they are, are incapable of running a business in the modern age.

Although I’ve had shipping delays I’ve always received items. Where the Nangle/s have come unstuck is in the basic process of returns. I now have ~£150 worth of goods that I’ve sent back and have yet to receive a refund nearly 7 months later. If he ever replies, all I get back is that he’s “checking”. No idea what there is to check as I’ve provided proof of postage throughout.

Please avoid if you care for your hard earned cash.

Don’t be a fool like me

Don’t be a fool like me, I paid £80 for an LP, it took almost a week to get a tracking number, I was a bit horrified that he used Hermes but ohh well, the LP was meant to be delivered 3 days after postage at the latest, it’s now a week past that date, I’ve had a couple of emails saying it’s due to the time of the year but the lack of a resolution is annoying to say the least and the fact that he doesn’t seem to have contacted the shipping company, if he posted it you would expect he would be all over Hermes for an answer but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Very dodgy to say the least, don’t be a fool like me.

All good

I must say I was a bit concerned when I read all the negative reviews here, but my order was completed successfully and professionally. The item was carefully packaged and sent securely and fast. Usually we leave negative feedback when something's wrong, but positive feedback should also be left when everything is fine.

Fraud

Guys, don't be an idiot like me. Do not place any orders. Support contact and telephone numbers do not work. Company is being dissolved. Placed the order on 4th November and paid for express delivery. Jot so far, and not surprised after my discovery. Now have to wait 15 days for chargeback, so I can get my money back!!!

Sadly all negative reviews are true

I wish I had read this page first. Placed an order for record sleeves on the 7th of October, paid the invoice (with CC luckily). Never received a tracking number, asked many times what's happening with my order and where is the tracking number. He said he had emailed it to me but he never has. It is now the 2nd of November and I have no goods and no tracking number. The 'support' email address doesn't even work. Either he's ordered them from the USA and they're taking ages or he never had any intention of sending anything. Doesn't communicate very well and doesn't really give straight or honest answers via email, or doesn't bother replying at all. Smacks of being dodgy. I'll be getting a refund from my CC company and steering well clear in the future - unless he comes clean and tells me about my order.

Ripoff Merchant

Utterly useless. Quick to take payment then . . . nothing.

Cryptic messages about tracking numbers, “checking with carrier” etc.

I’m currently awaiting my bank taking the money back and have contacted Trading Standards to try and get this scumbag stopped.

Very easily offended

Very easily offended. I placed an order and got an order confirmation and a marketing email. Asked him to remove me from his marketing list because I didn't sign up for it. Instead he cancelled my order and refunded it. Hasn't responded to any of my replies. Also the email address stated on the payment page is not valid. He responds via Gmail. What a way to do business. Avoid.

Frankly surprised by all the negative…

Frankly surprised by all the negative reviews, but noticed these are for hardware. I have only ever ordered vinyl from Scott Nangle, and I have always been very happy with the service, especially that I live in France - my orders typically arrived within 2-3 working days of my payment, and the best thing is that the items are sent with a "sensible" customs declaration that seems to avoid me needing to pay any post Brexit customs charges. Parcels are always extremely well packaged, and so far the discs I have received have all been in perfect, un-warped condition, which is more than I can say for my experience buying vinyl from Amazon. There is no real equivalent locally in France to the excellent and extensive selection of audiophile vinyl on SNVINYL, so this is my go-to place.

Mr Nangle Needs To Learn How To Run A Business

I really wish that I had read the reviews on Scott Nangle Audio before attempting a purchase. After a long and fruitless search for a Pro-ject Signature Carbon Fibre Headshell I found his site and voila he appeared to have stock as the webpage stated "Can be shipped in 7 days". Having made the order and provided my card details which was quite a strange process a couple of days later I noticed that the money had been taken out of my account. Mr Nangle's own T&Cs state that payments will not betaken until the item is dispatched. I Emailed Mr Nangle asking when delivery may be and got a very terse, cryptic and unhelpful reply. I asked for clarification and eventually got a terse response to state that he did not have the headshell in stock and that he would have to order the it from Pro-ject and delivery would be up to one month (too late for me as the item was a present) and then some waffle about the Covid pandemic affecting supplies etc. I requested a refund in full and asked why he had taken the payment when the item was not in stock and was told that it was a manufactured to order item that it needed to be pre-ordered from Pro-ject which is frankly a load of bull! I sent a further message requesting a refund and confirmation of such which was ignored. I had to threaten him with the Consumer Contracts Regulation and Consumer Rights Act to get a response which was confirmation of a refund which I received two days later.

Mr Nangle's website suggest that he can supply anything in the HiFi world with hundreds of products at competitive prices at competitive prices with vague delivery promises. I think that his methodology on stock is to list everything anybody might want (including £23,000 turntables) in the hope that he can obtain one (or maybe not) and sell it on.

If you must purchase from this business you must insist on confirmation of stock and insist payment will only be made on confirmation of delivery. Even then don't be surprised if any responses are cryptic and vague. Mr Nangle really needs to start respecting his customers and be more polite.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!

Let get this clear once and for all.

Scott Nangle or Alex, or whatever his name is a fraud.

1. I went to see this guy last year, I was lucky enough to get inside. THERE IS NO SHOP!!! This guys trades out of his mother or wifes basement. It was a biggest mess i have ever seen. No structure no inventory, nothing. There was piles of boxes on top of boxes and on top of boxes, invoices, paperwork, old paperwork, a complete mess. I couldn't tell if those boxes were deliveries or orders to send. Shambles !!!
2. If you planning to order any gear from this guy, DON'T. He doesn't have anything and I mean ANYTHING in stock, in shop or his basement. If you need a cartridge or headshell or any other equipment related product DO NOT ORDER from this guy, you will be waiting for months, if you lucky to get it at all. He doesn't even own a turntable. There was a bunch of records I admit, but they are all over the place, some on the floor some in corners some in boxes and some on shelves. Buying an expensive item such as MOFI or One step, you taking gamble.
3. Customer service is TERRIBLE. I stay an hour away from this guy, my most recent purchase was shocking, I emailed him asking if i could pick up my order, because I spent £400 and I didn't want to take chances on delivery, he agreed, he sent me an invoice which i paid, I arrived next day, and when he opened the door stuck his head out and told me that he can't get me my order and he is busy and about to leave. I stood there feeling like scum, I never felt so humiliated and disappointed in my life.
4. I don't understand why this guy is allowed to trade at all with amount of stock and sales this guys should be paying TAXES, but my invoices came with 0 VAT.
5. What record labels, shops sell to him, AP MOFI or any other reputable record manufacturer. Where does he get his stock from? He is scamming people with records.

I've never experienced a shambles of a company in my life!!

I placed my first order with Snvinyl for a Audio Technica VMN95SH stylus on the evening of 8th Aug 2021, I then received an invoice for £140.47 @ 11.26pm that night but I somehow had a bad feeling about my order and did a Google search of the company and lo and behold stumbled on this site and read all the negative reviews so I decided there and then to cancel my order which I did an hour later.

At 5.04pm the next day (Aug 9th) I received a very strange e-mail from Scott Nagle which said:

"3rd order & 3rd non-payment please do not contact again" Scott Nagle.

As I said this was my first order so what was that e-mail about Scott!! I am really glad now that I took the advice of so many on this site and not parted with my hard earned cash!!

Avoid as can't be trusted to sort out any problems

SnVinyl by appearance, is a great site - amazing inventory, great prices, timely processing and well packaged products shipped reliably - and I was, until my last order, like many others here, a happy customer, more than willing to recommend this as the goto site for audiophile music.

That is until something goes wrong, which to be honest is the way you have to judge online sites.

If there are problems, instead of finding a supportive provider, willing and able to sort out your problems, you will be met (if you get any response at all from Alex or is it Scott) with broken promises, obstruction and, alas, downright lies…

If my personal experience was a one off, then I would put this down to experience, but judging by the feedback here, and on other sites, I am very much not alone.

Back in January I ordered what I thought was an in stock limited edition set of vinyl. As usual I had to pay in advance and the money was immediately taken from my credit card…

While this is questionable, I wasn’t worried as the site said it was in stock and my previous orders with the site had been fine.

Soon after I ordered it the site said it would now be 7 - 21 days - so I waited…

At the end of February I emailed SNVinyl and was promised that it would be shipped next week - it wasn’t.

At the beginning of April I emailed again and was assured it would be sent within the next two weeks - so I waited..

Three weeks later I emailed again to say either send the records immediately or refund me.

At the beginning of May, having received neither a reply nor my money back I felt I had no option but to kick off a section 75 claim with my card provider.

I have waited till now to publish this as SNVinyl put in a dispute with my cardholder which gave him/them 30 days to prove they had dispatched the order - which of course they couldn’t.

You have to be able to trust online suppliers, especially ones which take money in advance for products they say are in stock and when dealing with customer problems.

You expect them to learn from their mistakes and change their behaviours in response to so much negative feedback - but they haven't (or can't be bothered to which is even sadder)..

I will never use them again and I suggest you don’t - but if you must then, at the very least, I advice extreme caution when ordering from this site

⁃ Order only products that you have checked and got a clear email confirmation are actually in stock.
⁃ Don't trust the online stock status.
⁃ Pay only be Credit Card.
⁃ Check the order status regularly and if it doesn’t change after a couple of weeks ask for your money back immediately.
⁃ If you are buying any hardware from this site, check with the manufacturer that SNVinyl is an authorised dealer for that product as that will at least mean you have got someone else to complain too..

Hope this helps

I have placed three separate orders in the last two weeks for some quite hard to find records. All items were delivered within a couple of days via DPD and in excellent secure packaging. Prices and communications were excellent. Looking forward to placing some more orders. Feels good to support an independent company.

I'm afraid all the negative reviews on here are correct. Items which are said to be "in stock" on the website are not in stock. There is no communication between Snvinyl and the customer either by phone or email. All my refunds were done via bank "charge back," otherwise there was no way I would get my money back from Snvinyl. Those who have given favourable reviews should consider themselves lucky! This is not the way to run a serious business.

So i ordered two styli from this place…

So i ordered two styli from this place and never having dealt with online invoices via email to pay which came a day later i assumed the website was broken as it never even alluded to sending an invoice it just said order complete and i didn't pay so i moved on and bought them from another website. Invoice came and i asked to cancel and he said it was cancelled but enjoy my fake styli from the other company basically as he said they'd not come in original JICO boxes, they did. I then proceeded to order 2 from him as i had some money and understood now how it worked for payment. Got an email instead of an onvoice to pay that said "no payment - no goods" told him to F off. Guy thinks hes smart and edgy and need an attitude readjusting. Don't deal with him as i see nothing but problems if you have to deal with an issue.
