Highly recommended!

My 12 yr old son really enjoyed the camp this week. He had great fun learning new skills and making friends. It was si well organised with different age categories. I really hope you will do another in the summer holidays. The location was ideal! So easy for dropping off and picking up. Thanks to coach Gerard, my son said he was very nice.

Girls experience not great

Daughter 9 struggled in a male dominated group . All male coaches also . There were girls in other groups but selection was on School year . Ate lunch day 1 and 2 alone as the boys didn’t mix with her . Laughed at for missing a penalty by same boys . Came home Monday and Tuesday crying . I pulled her out of the group and despite paying for 4 days , had to take two days off .
I’m sure the coaches had good intentions and others may have had a good experience , but not for my daughter . They should be inclusive and have an awareness if a child is alone and ostracized . I emailed the company last week and have had no response .

Reply from Soccer Star Coaching

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear that your daughter didn’t have the experience we would hope for at our camp. It’s upsetting to learn that she felt excluded, especially during breaks, and that some of the boys’ comments made her feel uncomfortable. Please do pass on our sincere apologies to her.

We’re also sorry that you didn’t receive our initial response—we did email you back, so it may have ended up in your junk or spam folder. For your reference, here is the reply we sent:

At the start of every camp, during my Monday morning introduction, I always challenge the children to make two new friends that day. It’s something I believe strongly in and part of how we try to encourage inclusion and positive group interaction from the very beginning. It’s disappointing to hear that this didn’t come through for your daughter.

I also want to mention that there was another girl in your daughters group, so it’s unfortunate that the two didn’t manage to connect. Had we been made aware that she was feeling isolated, we would have absolutely looked to re-group her with other girls of a similar age, as we’ve done in the past. In recent years, this hasn’t been necessary as our camps have seen a growing number of girls attend.
On the particular camp your daughter attended, we had noticeably fewer girls than usual attending, including many of our regulars, and I completely understand how that could have made things more difficult for her. I have three young daughters myself, so I’m very aware of how much of a difference it can make to have a familiar or friendly face nearby.

I spoke to the coach the morning after I received your email, and he was genuinely surprised to hear your daughter had been feeling this way, as he was happy with how she was getting on during the sessions and hadn’t noticed anything to suggest she was struggling socially. That said, if he had heard any unkind comments from the boys, he most certainly would have stepped in and addressed it right away. Respect and encouragement are values we reinforce consistently.

We do have female coaches; however, none were available that particular week due to prior commitments playing for their respective teams over the bank holiday weekend.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s incredibly valuable to us as we continually endeavour to improve.

Kind regards,

Justin Tyrrell

Was my son's first time at soccer star Easter camp and he absolutely loved it, he's a shy quiet boy (until you get to know) so wasn't sure if he would take to it but he is a mega footy lover and is already pestering me to book him in for the summer camp! Couches were all brilliant and would highly recommend the camp to family and friends thanks to all the staff for an excellent week we look forward to the summer camp.

Fantastic

My son begs me to book football camp every holiday. The coaches are fantastic and really enthuse the kids to get involved and make friends. There is an emphasis on both skill and the social importance of the game. Honestly can’t rate them enough!

It was my kids first time attending (Reception & Y3 aged) - they went to the Easter camp. Both girls absolutely loved the camp - they both said their coaches were super cool and fun. It’s clear that the coaches foster a friendly & supportive environment regardless of previous football skills. Good communication before, during and after the camp and we’re already signed up for the Summer one ⚽️🏅🏆

“Best Day Ever” - Archie(age 5; Reception)

This was Archie’s first football camp and definitely not the last!

Even though we live about 30 minutes away, it’s honestly worth the drive. We’re definitely going to be regulars!

On the first day, we were a bit nervous, just hoping he wasn’t upset or overwhelmed especially since he can be quite shy when it comes to new people.

But every-time I picked him up, he couldn’t stop talking about how much fun he had! Also, as the week went on, I got to see just how kind and approachable the coaches are. The way they interact with the kids and how they already knew Archie by name, absolutely melted my heart.

I also really appreciated how, on the colder days, they brought the little ones indoors to play instead of keeping them outside. This just shows how much they care about the kids. It made me feel completely confident leaving him in their care.

I also usually get there a bit early for pick-up and it makes me happy to see him out on the field so focused, chasing and kicking the ball.

By the last day, (glad it was sunny🤣) Archie was thrilled with his awards. He told me it was the “best day ever” and has already started reminding me about the summer camp!

Honestly, I didn’t expect the awards to be that impressive! I thought it might just be a small token to keep the kids happy, but they went above and beyond.
The quality exceeded my expectations and gave Archie even more motivation for his football sessions with his club here in the IOM and also for the next football camp!

Definitely worth the money.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. We have one very happy boy and one very happy mummy!

Absolutely fantastic football camp

Absolutely fantastic football camp! Very well run and the coaches are just brilliant with the kids. Excellent communicators, always encouraging and very caring. My little boy and girl were beyond excited to go in every day and were so happy and full of chat coming home. There was a very noticeable difference in how happy they were in comparison to other holiday clubs. You could see the coaches were highly respected by the kids, listening attentively whenever the coach would speak and responding promptly to coaches instructions. There was a true discipline, team spirit and overall to know your kids are being well looked after while having fun in the fresh air, making friends and being reminded of the important things like manners and kindness is in my view money very well spent. Thank you for the best camp my kids have said they were ever at. They will be back in the summer. 🌞⚽🏆
